"Ok Kiri for your penalty, you have to eat a spoonful of Kacchan's favorite hot sauce!" Ooohhhhs reverberated through the room. No sane person wanted any part of the explosive blonde's special sauce. He made it himself by mixing his homemade chili oil with three kinds of store bought hot sauce and just smelling it could knock most people over. Or possibly raise the dead.
An experiment for another day.
"Midobro! Why would you try and kill me man?!?!? Is this because I asked about your love life?!?! I'll take it back! All of it! I'm sure you've had plenty of girlfriends! Or boyfriends! You're super cute so I'm sure you've always been popular!" The rambling panic had most of the class laughing, including the maker of the said death potion which in itself made the whole situation more than worth it. Hearing the blonde full on laughing with everyone else was like spotting a unicorn.
After a few moments of communal mirth at the redheads expense Katsuki decided to save his idiot friend knowing full well they would need Recovery Girl if he let this happen. "The fuck makes you think I'm gonna sacrifice and of MY sauce for YOUR dare Deku?" The aggressive refusal was somewhat diminished by the near complete smile covering the red-eyed teen's face.
"Yeh, I guess you're right. Sorry Kacchan. Ok Kiri you have to..." Looking around for inspiration the tea kettle in the kitchen caught his mischievous green eye.
"...sing 'I'm a little teapot' for us. Actions and all!"
"You are a harsh but fair man Midobro." Standing to his full height, Ejiro began to sing and dance the child's rhyme as if performing a Shakespearian play. Upon completing his award worthy musical number the redhead received a standing ovation for his very over the top efforts. After taking a bow and reclaiming his seat next to an amused Blasty Red Riot began looking around for the next player.
"Ok! Who's next? Tokoyami!" The anamorph youth nodded in acknowledgement and crossed his arms in preparation.
"I'm a great dancer. I've never been out to the movies with a friend. I love cinnamon ice cream." Looking expectantly at the dark youth with the shadow quirk, Kirishima smiled his wide toothy signature smile silently pleased that his best friend's partner was still in good spirits. It seemed as if after tonight the tension that was lingering between the two might finally be gone. Mission accomplished Ejiro: very manly.
"I have seen you dance and I must say that it is indeed quite impressive. I know that you enjoy ice cream but I am not certain of what flavor you may favor. I also know you enjoy movies but am unaware if you have ever been with a friend. I have no way of eliminating another option so I will need to guess. The spirits are urging me to choose the desert so I will say that is a lie." All eyes turned to the crimson-haired boy for the verdict. A large toothy smile again flashed before a shy laugh erupted from his muscled chest.
"Sorry bro. I loooooove cinnamon ice cream. It's the best!" Some of the girls looked a little sad as they realized their cheerful friend had never experienced the simple fun of seeing a film in the cinema with friends. Such a normal part of typical teen life that he has as of yet missed out.
So many of Class 2A had forgone these kinds of typical milestones in their lives and as the last year went on they all understood more and more how they were more similar than they were different.
"Apologies my friend. I will accept any penalty you see fit." Closing his eyes and blowing slightly to the unfazed redhead, Fumikage awaited his fate. The class's Shark Boy didn't lament an experience he never had. There was no sadness on his face as he almost shyly offered up a well meaning consequence.
"Well, if it's ok with her of course, you have to give Tsu a kiss on the cheek." Most knew the two spent countless hours silently reading in the common room together. It was widely assumed they had a thing for each other. But that was wrong. The two Heros in training just had a strong bond because of some shared experiences in growing up.
"That's not a problem *kiro*" Joining her friend in the middle of the room the smaller green haired female smiled up at him and turned her face to make it easier for him to complete his penalty. Once finished he thanked his reading buddy and resumed his seat. The anticlimactic kiss was disappointing to those hoping to have another new class couple but the sentiment didn't last long as whispers started to spread.
Many surreptitious glances were thrown at the pair the game began with to find the aquaette was now holding the tailed boy's neck as he encircled her waist while the two learned their heads together. So much for the martial arts user being too nervous to even touch his female companion. Two out of three isn't a bad average. Right?
Sure.
"Tsu, as you were the recipient of my penalty I believe you should go next." A soft *kero* sounded before Tokoyami continued.
"I have an affinity for sweeter foods. I prefer dawn or dusk over mid day or night. I do not care for spiders." The frog quirk holder's tongue hung out slightly from her wide mouth as she poked her chin in thought before responding.
"You hate spiders, even in stories. Dawn and dusk would make Dark Shadow both more powerful than at midday but also easier to control than night so that must be true as well. So I think liking sweets is a lie." The soft spoken youth tilted her head similar to the way the classes other greenette often did when looking to understand something. Blinking her large eyes, she waited to see if she was correct in her analysis.
"You are correct. I much prefer savory foods to sweet ones. No offense to Sato. So what penalty would you have of me, my friend?"
"Recite your favorite poem for everyone." Nodding, the brooding male stood up and recited 'Old Well' by Yosa Buson. Three simple lines but the old haiku was one he had always loved.
"Thank you Fumikage. Okay, Bakugo I'll pick you *kero*." If the advantage in the game was choosing someone you didn't know as well then this could be considered a power move. This game was getting more and more interesting.
"Bring it Kermit." Never one to back down from a challenge, the blonde met the small female's eye directly.
"I will *kero*. Ok, I don't like salty foods. I'd rather do rescue work than fight. I think you are very handsome." The last one caught the whole room off guard with several students dropping their jaws in shock.
"The fuck are you at Frogger? You know what? Nevermind, doesn't matter. Your quirk is good for support but not great for attack, it's better suited for rescue work. Of course you think I'm handsome. Who doesn't? So the lie is the food." Perfectly content that he was right, Katsuki sat up from his lounging position and crossed his arms. Glaring at his classmate as he waited for confirmation.
"It is true that personality and looks are not related. So even though you are a very hard person to get along with, you are quite attractive. I know my quirk isn't the best for direct attacks but that doesn't mean I automatically want to specialize in rescue. So sorry Bakugo but you're wrong. I love salty foods *kero*." A closed eyed smile filled her face as the victorious girl held back a small laugh.
"Whatever. Spit it out so we can get on with it." Looking at her fellow greenette as well as the redhead next to the blonde, Asui mentally apologized before turning back to the class's favorite Pomeranian.
"Play the Pocky game with three people chosen at random *kero*." The often overlooked girl knew both boys were close to the explosive teen in different ways and honestly hoped they would be chosen. That and she just wanted a chance to see the overly proud Dynamight flustered.
And damn did that work.
"Huh?! The fuck are you on about? Why the hell should I do that shit for?" Throwing his arms aside and palms smoking the ruby-eyed youth hid his embarrassment with anger.
"But Kacchan, if you don't then you have to clean the commons alone all week. Wouldn't that be worse?" Looking nervous, Izuku began to wring his hands. Everyone assumed it was at the thought of potentially having to get close to his future partner's dangerous face but in reality he was afraid they might accidentally kiss and give themselves away if his name was chosen.
The nervous laughter coming from the class redhead seemed to be taken in similar stride, though his internal monologue about the possible situation was quite the opposite. In his mind, Kirishima was hoping with every fiber in his being that he would be picked. How could fate pass him up for this golden opportunity?
