The soft, almost self-deprecating chuckle that passed through the still smiling lips of class 2A's manliest student was hard for All Might's successor to hear. "Don't say that about yourself, Kirishima. This has to be hard for you. I honestly don't think I can possibly ever know what you are really going through, you or Ochacko, but I know we've hurt you both. Even if it wasn't intentional. I've admired Kacchan my whole life. He's strong and fearless and even if his methods haven't always come across as noble he has always meant well in his own way."

"Not to mention how hot he is."

"I know right?! How is that even fair!?!" Both boys chuckled at the lighthearted moment, pleased to feel some of the heaviness on their shoulders lift away. "I had no idea my admiration for him had become something more until after All Might's retirement when we started working together as a pair. Even then it was basically an accident. I don't know how I would feel if Kacchan was with you already back then. I can only imagine how much it would have hurt. I can say I would have tried to be happy for you both, but really? I don't know. I do think I have a pretty good idea how HE would have reacted if it were the other way around though." Another release of soft laughter eroded even more of the tension between the two boys.

"Heh, yeah. I think the poor girl might have had to change classes. Maybe even schools. Ya know, in a different province. Just to be safe." The two continued to laugh together at the thought of their explosive blonde taking out his frustration on the antigravity quirk user. "Can I ask you something Mido?"

"Of course." A quick nod confirmed the other was willing to listen before the question was asked.

"When did you two even start being more than just partners? No wait, that's not what I meant. I know you two started dating second term last year but like, how did that happen? You said you accidentally found out you had deeper feelings for Kat, but when did you guys act on it? I mean he was, from what you've both said, completely not manly towards you for a long time. You two would fight constantly all the way up to summer break and even now you kind of still argue a lot. After everything with the LOV you two were definitely getting on better but not anything that would make people think you were TOGETHER together, ya know? Maybe you two have some kind of argument kink or something."

"A WHAT??!?"

"I'm kidding man. But from the outside it does seem weird, you have to admit that."

"Yeah, you should have seen how confused WE were at first. I've never felt attracted to anyone before now. At all. Not girls, or guys, or even celebrities or Pro Heroes. I've admired countless people for a lot of different reasons but never felt special towards anyone like with Kacchan. I kind of figured I just didn't have those sorts of feelings in me and I was ok with that. Really. I assumed I was Ace and it wasn't a big deal. As for Kacchan, I guess in a way he kind of never grew up. He thought he was protecting me from reality somehow by trying to discourage me from aiming to be a Hero." Looking down at his feet it took the greenette a few moments before he realized what he almost confided in the redhead.

Quickly covering his tracks he waved his arms in front of him at the confused look on the other boy's face. "I mean my quirk seemed really different back then and nobody thought I could do it. I don't think my mom even believed it. So I could kind of understand him being like that. You remember how badly I would hurt myself using it. But then I got a lot stronger so I guess I proved them wrong in a way."

"Glad you did man, you ARE gonna be a great hero. And your quirk IS hella weird, not gonna lie, but I still don't get how all that turns into you guys being a couple. Not that you have to answer if you don't want to. I don't want to make things weirder between us but I feel like I NEED to understand." Still uncomfortable, though not wanting to be defensive, the scarlet-eyed male put his hands in his pockets much like the boy he liked so much would have done in his stead.

"It's ok. I think I can understand that. Believe it or not it was like I said: a complete accident. Though in retrospect, I think we had been building up to that kiss for weeks without realizing it. It seems a big piece of him acting that way was because he liked me and just didn't want to admit it. So he was also trying to push me away. Like denial maybe? The future number one strongest Hero couldn't be with a looser weakling that can't even control his own quirk, right?" Putting his hands up in defense as his companion immediately made to reject the idea the greenette continued. "But that was THEN. He's changed, everyone can see it. And I figured out why I was never attracted to anyone else. It was always him for me. I never looked at anyone else because who could see anyone else with Katsuki always around."

The two stood in quiet reflection for a few moments before the taller teen scoffed. "You know, I think you two ARE a good match. As much as I might not like to admit it. Ever since we all started at UA you two have been a perfect counterbalance. Even when he was screaming at everyone and seriously trying to hurt you, you were always the only one who could calm him down when he got worked up. You were the one who knew how to get him to come with us when we got him back from the LOV. He took MY hand but it was your idea and you who grounded him after, when we were watching All Might. You always knew just how to set him off when he needed to vent and how to stop one of us from stepping on a Blasty landmine. I guess I just never wanted to see how he let you. You, not me. How he only seemed to see YOU, even with the rest of us forcing our way in. He's my best friend and he's never opened up to me like he does with you. Not even when it's just the two of us. I'm sorry I've been so cold to you, Midoriya. I promise, I'll get my head on straight soon man." A spirited thumbs up and a wide toothy grin showed how serious Eijiro was about accepting the reality of his crush being out of his reach. A warm smile and a quick nod showed understanding from the jade-eyed youth before him as the two parted ways.

Kirishima turned back towards the dorm doors to head in and clean up before bed while Izuku stood smiling on the pathway. He couldn't help but be pleased. Things were going to start to get back to normal with everyone after finding out about him and Kacchan and he was excited for it. He missed the close-knit comfort the class used to have and had been a little scared that it might forever be gone now. Turning to the left he looked up at the building. He was on Katsuki's side of the dorm and just two floors up he could see the light was off in the blonde's room. Grinning, he pulled his phone from his pocket.

A rather non-Hero like smile overtook the greenette's usually cherub-esque features as he powered up his quirk. Moments later an odd thud shook the small balcony outside the feisty blonde's room that had him jumping from his bed. Bakugo quickly pulled back his curtain and stood staring at the face of his boyfriend who had apparently just jumped up to his room from ground level. Opening the door he grabbed the smaller boy by the shirt front before pulling him inside and forcing his back against the glass as the door slid quietly into place. "You are one crazy fucker Deku. You know that, right?"

Lifting his arms up to wrap around the other's neck, Izuku's expression quickly switched from impish to seductive as he pulled his partner in closer to his own face. "And you love it."

"Says who?"

"Says you."

"Yeah, you got me there. I REALLY do." Leaning in and closing the small remaining distance between them the spiky haired youth wrapped his arms around his still smirking intruder. Seems there would be not one, but two very grumpy and very sleep-deprived members of class 2A tomorrow.
