"Are you sure Midoriya? If you'd prefer to participate in a more leisurely activity we could watch that new All Might movie you've been talking about non-stop instead." Sitting across from his first ever friend, Todoroki slurped up the last of his cold soba noodles as he addressed the shorter male. It was lunchtime on the first Monday in third term and the duel quirk youth was trying to talk the greenette into a combat training session after classes. But the successor of One For All had just turned down the idea. He already had plans.

"Yeah! You know you love snuggling up in that oversized blanket of yours in the common room watching his movies on the big TV. Maybe we could ALL have a movie night with you! Wouldn't that be fun?" Uraraka smiled but was noticeably nervous about her own suggestion. Everybody knew the antigravity user had a crush on the class' Broccoli Lord. They HAD to by now. After all, it wasn't like the girl was a master of subtlety.

However, few noticed how the son of Endeavor also seemed to have grown fond of everybody's favorite little ball of optimism. Including the youth himself.

Most of those who picked up on the heterochromatic youth's seemingly constant invitations to hang out with his freckled companion as no more than friendly gestures. Frequent small touches and close proximity whenever applicable were mostly dismissed as nothing more than lack of familiarity with friendship. Common theory amongst those observant enough to take note was that as a result of Shoto's unconventional upbringing the boy just didn't possess a normal level of social skills.

Yaoyorozu, Asui, and Ida were sure they alone knew the truth they suspected since they were so close to both boys.

As the brunette of the group beamed a huge smile at the object of her affections, the slightly suspicious trio shared a look of concern. Was the girl trying to intrude on Shoto's possible time with Izuku intentionally or was that just a coincidence? Luckily, their unspoken concerns were put to rest quite quickly by Deku himself.

"Sorry, but like I said: I already have plans today. How about we do it tomorrow?" Always with a kind heart and a desire to make his friends happy. That was a good description of Izuku.

"I have my one-on-one training after classes tomorrow. What about after our internships on Wednesday?"

Thumb and forefinger on his chin in thought the emerald-eyed teen struggled to accommodate his friend's request best he could. "I don't know about Wednesday Ura, we may all be too tired to hang out then. Thursday?" The scrunched up look on his freckled face was adorable to all members of the Deku-Squad. And several other members of the class who would likely never admit it.

"I do not have any obligations tomorrow but I have my own training on Thursday. Would it be unreasonable to ask you to engage in both activities separately? You two could watch your movie Thursday evening and we could train on Tuesday. If that does not inconvenience you of course." Done eating now, the ice quirk user had assumed the elegant posture and blank expression he was so well known for.

"It's never unreasonable to hang out with my friends Todoroki. And it's not too much to ask at all. I know we all have fun together but there's nothing wrong with doing things with just one of you sometimes too! I do things with just Kacchan all the time. In fact, he's the one I have plans with tonight. So tomorrow I'll do some combat training with you and then Thursday Uraraka and I can watch a movie! Is that ok with everybody?"

"That seems like a wonderful compromise. That way everyone gets a chance to hang out. Ida and I will be busy this week with the term meetings for the class reps so we won't be able to join you all I'm afraid." Standing up, the class vice-representative smiled at her two love struck friends. She hoped neither hurt by the subtle brush offs they were both receiving. Did they even notice most of their offers to spend alone time with the greenette were kindly but summarily dismissed? And not just today. Was Midoryia doing it on purpose? Or is he really just that busy training with Bakugo?

Either way she could see no interest from him towards the other two at all. She just wished everything would work out for the better. One way or another. Secretly, the raven haired teen was grateful for her friend's lack of interest in Todoroki. It was causing her a bit of guilt but she couldn't help it. If it were otherwise and Midoriya DID seem interested in the clearly enamored boy across from him she would cheer them on gladly, with no reluctance at all. Not one bit.

"*kero* Don't worry about me either. I promised Mina and Shoji I'd help them with their Classical Japanese essay this week. They definitely won't get extensions this time." The frog quirk holder wanted to join in the combat training as well but didn't have the heart. She didn't want to disappoint her stoic friend now that he had a chance to be alone with his crush. Even if the boy himself didn't realize it. She was positive the son of Endeavour only needed more opportunities like this to recognize his true feelings.

Plans made, everyone smiled as the chimes sounded indicating the end of the lunch hour. The six friends, one of which had remained quiet through the whole meal, began clearing their table. When they returned back to the classroom they found almost everyone else already there, less the class's other unofficial squad. As they made their entrance to the familiar space everyone headed to their assigned desks except for the fire and ice user. The tall male instead leaned against the wall next to Izuku to discuss the specifics of their planned training the following day.

Just before the last warning bell sounded the final missing members of class 1A ran in. Each student was winded and visibly panting, having obviously run there from wherever they ate lunch. Where had they been for them to be so out of breath in their hurry to be on time? Kyoto?

"I told you I could eat three bowls before the last bell! Pay up Sero." The grin on Kaminari's face was blinding as he gloated. His good mood only faltered when an earphone jack smacked him upside his head.

"You barely made it, and we all had to bookit to class because of your dumbass bet. Idiot." Jiro had recovered first and smoothly found her seat after her deadpan observation.

So NOT Kyoto then. Good to know.

As he approached his desk, Bakugo all but growled at the sight before him. He had come to understand Shoto more over the last several months but he still largely viewed him as an irritation. Where others saw a socially awkward somewhat loaner, the blonde saw a smug self-impressed poser. One who was trying to take his place at the top. That his rival was good friends with his partner oftentimes felt like rubbing broken glass in an open wound.

Take right now for example.

As the red-eyed youth approached the oblivious pair, small explosions began popping from his palms. Almost without him noticing. As per an agreement he made with Midoriya after a locker room incident at the beginning of the new school year, Katsuki fully intended to ignore Icy Hot. He really did. But as he got closer to his seat and the chatting pair the unwanted intruder put a hand on Izuku's shoulder and bent over to whisper in the greenett's ear.

Fuck that.

"Oi, Half N Half! Shouldn't you be over there with the other extras? I don't need my damn desk smelling like burnt toast and fucking peppermint." Dropping his bag next to his still unoccupied chair, the most disgruntled member of UA's 'Star Class' crossed his arms as he glared at the aggravatingly calm teen.

A slightly exasperated sigh caught his attention but not enough to break his venomous stare. "Kacchan, why are you picking a fight with Todoroki? He's not even at your desk. Or are you saying I cant talk to whomever I want to at MY desk without clearing it with you first?" Ruby eyes switched focus from bicolored to rich green. The arched eyebrow Izuku presented to his future partner seemed almost out of character for the curly haired boy.

Ignoring the enraged attack dog radiating with irritation, Shoto kept his focus on his friend. "We can work out the rest of the details later after classes." After gaining a slight smile from the still seated teen in front of him, the son of Endeavor turned and headed to his own desk without acknowledging the now literally fuming class Pomeranian.

"Not nice Kacchan. You should apologize."

"Since when in our whole lives have I ever claimed to be nice? And fuck no. His fault for stinking up my space with his shitty self." Unceremoniously, and definitely NOT like a pouting toddler, Bakugo dropped into his seat. Propping his feet up on the desktop, he ignored the indigent sounds coming from behind him. Why does Deku hang out with that bastard in the first place? He has the personality of a wet fucking blanket. Once Katsuki was seated everyone who had been subtly observing the exchange turned away and readied themselves for class.
