"Morning Midobro! You got butterfingers today. Need some help?" Chuckling to himself and automatically reaching to pick up broken pieces of ceramic, the sharp-toothed youth was caught completely off guard by the usually upbeat greenette's response.
"Not from YOU I don't." Snatching the large chunk of bowl from the other's hand, Izuku threw it into the trash and turned away to resume his efforts at making himself some cereal. Noticing in his periferie that the other had not left, the unusually angry emerald-eyed boy practically snarled.
Milk poured and wanting to be far away from the other he left the kitchen, pushing the still somewhat shocked boy out of his way with his shoulder in the process.
"Hey man, you mad at me for something?" Concern for his friend's behavior was clear in the crimson-eyed youth's voice catching the full focus of all those in earshot.
Freezing in place and turning his head only slightly to address the other over his shoulder, Midoriya's voice was nothing like the bubbly little cinnamon roll his class knew him to be. Rather, it was far more like the threatening Deku so many villains had come to be weary of and even fear. His carefully constructed veneer of smiles and innocence seemed to have been left back in his room this morning as he addressed a well-meaning and very confused Red Riot.
"Go play with a boomer. Or do you prefer to be killed by the lurkers? Either's fine with me." ENow completely expressionless and emanating an aura of borderline rage, Izuku left his surprised group of classmates behind as he made his way back to his room. Bowl in hand.
"Dude, was he talking about Dead Space?" Denki was asking Kirashima with a note of almost astonishment but it was the pink female who responded.
"Makes sense. That's what you all were talking about last night in the chat right?"
"Midoriya isn't in our squad chat though." The co-keeper of the group's collective intelligence began running through all the ways the usually soft boi would have come to know what happened in a chat he was not a part of. Maybe Bakugo had told the freckled youth about the conversation last night? But no, that made no sense. The notoriously early bird was clearly already in bed at the time and had been with his squad all morning since returning from his day off gym visit. Midoriya had only just woken up so there was no way the two could have talked this morning. How did Deku know? And why is he so mad at Ejiro?
Oblivious to his crushes analysis and the odd shift in the atmosphere, the louder of the two squad blondes spoke up again. "We should totally invite Midobro to play with us next time!" Kaminari's enthusiasm was met with a skeptical look from his sharp toothed companion still shaken a bit by his exchange with said greenette. Did Kami really not notice Izuku's mood?
Rubbing the back of his neck in his signature nervous move, Kirishima tried to dawn a wide reassuring smile but no one was buying it. "I don't know man, he seemed really mad for some reason. I don't think we should bother him."
"He's just been hanging around our little Blasty too much. Plus a pissed Izuku is like finding a unicorn, we can't pass up the opportunity! Besides, it might make for an interesting player!" The glint in Sero's eye suggested he might like the idea just a bit too much.
As the conversation continued the mystery of the freckled teen's insider knowledge seemed to go overlooked, or unnoticed, by most of the squad lest Jiro and the other co-keeper of the squad's intelligence To the sound quirk user, it appeared the fiery leader of the group also picked up on the situation. Unlike the rest Boom Boom was preoccupied with the very-not-Midoriya-like attitude of the class's fourth seat student. Or so she assumed.
The perceptive female was not too far off the mark either. In reality the explosive youth was confused not only at his boyfriend's outburst but almost more so by why he would risk exposing their relationship like that. He basically told the extras that the couple was together last night when he was supposed to be sleeping. The fuck was that about?
After a few quiet minutes, Katsuki stood and left his group in favor of following his partner to find answers with only a passing look of confusion at his best friend's hurt expression. Once he reached the shorter teen's room he opened the door he knew wasn't locked and almost slammed it behind him. Standing only a few feet inside Bakugo stared at the back of his boyfriend's head as the smaller male sat at his desk facing away from the intruder unflinchingly .
"What the hell Deku? Shitty Hair didn't do anything to you. What's with the attitude? And I thought we agreed to keep US between us. Now you're basically announcing that we slept together last night? The fuck? " Not sure what exactly to do, he remained at the door without approaching the boy he was curled around in bed only hours earlier.
Almost anticipating a fight, the sniffle he heard coming from the other was a completely unexpected sound. At least nobody could ever accuse the curly-haired youth of being boring. He was definitely keeping the other on his toes.
"Bunny?" Braving a step forward, the blonde halted his motion as the freckled boy spoke up in a shuddering voice. Is he crying?
"I- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at Kiri like that. I just -" It was too shameful. No way could he say it outloud.
A gentle embrace from behind surprised the greenette to the point he would have fallen back out of his chair were it not for the body hunched there.
"What happened? You looked so peaceful in your sleep when I left this morning. You never act like that to the extras. Me yes, but not you Deku. What gives?"
"I can't. You won't like it. You won't want to be with me anymore."
"I'm not shitting fragile so don't you fucking look down on me. You better damn well know after last night that it wold have to be pretty fucking serious for me to not want you so speak Nerd." Moving to lean on the desk and face his partner, Katsuki softened his usual scowl and waited. It took a few moments for the other to look at him and when the smaller male finally turned his face up it was obvious that yes: he HAD been crying.
"You weren't there."
"What?" After a deep calming breath Izuku explained.
"I woke up and you were gone. You weren't there. I figured you had gone to the gym but when I heard you all laughing and talking it just- it felt like you left me for them. For HIM. I know Kiri is your best friend! Of course you would hang out with him. And it's late, you would have finished your workout a while ago if you went. But you didn't come back after. You went to Kiri. Not me. It's normal, I know that. But it just- hurt. I'm sorry, I know it's ridiculous and I overreacted and I need to talk to Kiri and apologize. I'm sure he feels-" Warm lips silenced the rambling that was building up steam in a sincere kiss.
Braud hands cupped his freckled cheeks as calloused thumbs rubbed away the tears still clinging to his face. Opening his eyes, that he had not realized were closed, Deku looked into the stunning red eyes he loved so much.
"Are you jealous of Shitty Hair Bunny?" Shame flooded the seated teen as he reached up to pull away the hands that were still lovingly clutching his face only to have their owner kiss him again, and deeper.
Once the need for oxygen forced the two to separate the instigator spoke. "I know you feel like shit right now, but honestly? I'm so turned on. Auntie Inko's precious Nerd is jealous over ME. That's hot." Licking his lips, Katsuki knew he had to hold back right now. His boyfriend needed reassurance. THEN he could pounce.
Plan.
"I was going to come back and take a nap with you after I cleaned up from my workout but the extras were in the commons and I wouldn't have been able to go back to you without them finding out. We agreed to not tell anyone so I just stayed with them instead. Next time I will wake your delicious ass up before I leave so I can make sure you know who these lips belong to." Emphasizing his need with an even deeper kiss, the blonde began to lead the other out of the chair and to the bed. His (friends) extras would be fine without him today. He was exactly where he needed to be.
