Mr. Aszawa's top two problem children stood in a deadlock for several agonizing moments as the greenette's mind raced. How do you know Kacchan? Did someone tell you? It had to be either Shinso or Hound Dog. I doubt Mr. Inui would give out details of a student's session so it had to be Hitoshi. But why would he betray me like that? I know he wanted me to tell Kacchan about the voice, but that doesn't give him the right to go behind my back like that. I thought I could trust him. Or maybe he didn't? Was I just sloppy? Kacchan is super smart, maybe he figured it out himself? I wasn't careful enough. Now he's worried and-

Knowing he needed to snap the younger teen out of the spiraling thoughts likely swarming his mind, the subject of said thoughts stood and lightly touched Midoriya's elbow. The gesture was gentle but worked nonetheless. Sparkling green pools brimming with unshed tears slowly moved their focus to the face of a very soft explosion quirk user. Many times, Izuku had thought Katsuki would be the most popular Hero when they went Pro for his unbelievably handsome face alone. When the boy wasn't scowling or yelling he was more attractive than any model.

Pulling the visibly shaken and clearly terrified boy back to the bed, the calmer of the two quickly pulled on a pair of joggers. Clear from the fog of lust and pleasure, Katsuki's clever mind immediately understood what had spooked his skittish Bunny. Holding the younger boy's scarred hands in his own, the older teen tried to console Midoriya without making things worse. "Izuku-"

Mistake number 1: They don't do given names unless something is truly wrong. Bakugo was either mad or scared, and it was entirely Deku's fault. "- I know you've been hearing voices talking to you. No, don't ask how I know, it doesn't matter. I just do."

Mistake number 2: It very much mattered to the youth who had been doing everything within his power that he could to hide it.

"While I obviously can't hear them and I don't know what they say to you, I'm damn sure they aren't spouting positive affirmations or telling you how wonderful you are. Not with the way you've been acting lately."

Mistake number 3: Bringing to light how badly Izuku had failed to adapt to the situation and prevent others from being affected was proof he would never be a capable Hero. Proof he had already failed.

"I love you Nerd. I want to be with you so damn much but you're pushing me away."

Mistake number 4: Katsuki never spoke about his emotions, good or bad. He was a person of action and preferred to show how he felt with his actions. The blonde had always felt that words were fickle, but actions were solid and reliable. The greenette was making the boy he had always admired more than anyone, even All Might, change. HE was forcing the feisty youth to accommodate him just because he couldn't handle a little challenge.

Deku had come to a rather gut-wrenching decision a few days ago that he knew he had to face now. The explosion quirk user was far too stubborn to ever give up on anything so it would be up to the poorly chosen inheritor of One for All. He needed to save Dynamight from being trapped with a useless partner that would only ever hold him back.

Midoriya knew the blonde would resist any effort to separate, even if it were for his own good, so he needed a strategy. He needed to push the boy towards something, someONE, rather than just push him away. The hotheaded teen's sharp toothed best friend was the obvious choice. Eijiro genuinely and deeply cared for Katsuki and Deku was sure the hardening quirk user would never knowingly hurt his beloved Blasty. He also knew the blonde was more fond of the other than he let on. With time and his own absence Izuku was sure his one time childhood friend could grow to love Red Riot wholeheartedly. Kirishima could make Bakugo happy. What more could Midoriya want?

Mind made up to do it now, the freckled boy looked into crimson red eyes for the first time since waking up nearly half an hour ago. Unwilling to trust his own voice, he stood and without a word left his now glassy eyed boyfriend alone in the dark room. He needed a way to push those two friends closer together while distancing himself from them both and there was no way he could keep his resolve wrapped in those strong warm arms. If he stayed in his soon-to-be ex-boyfriend's room any longer he would cave and give into selfishness. As he made his way to the stairs, He pretended not to hear the heartbreaking cry from behind the blonde's door.
