Might Tower's intern supervisor held her blonde spitfire in her arms. Right now Bakugo wasn't a freakishly talented UA student or a very promising future Hero. Right now he was a vulnerable little boy who was hurting deeper than he was prepared to let on. His well guarded heart was broken and leaking without his consent and it took every motherly instinct in the bluette not to also break herself as she did her best to comfort his shaking frame.
The pair stood rocking slightly for nearly twenty minutes until Dynamight had calmed enough to at least speak. Though he continued to hold his coordinator tightly his slightly choppy voice sounded quietly between them. "He left me. He didn't trust me enough to help him! I know you warned us it could go bad but-"
Pulling back enough to look directly into swelling irritated crimson eyes, Flurry pressed a cool palm to the shattered teen's cheek. "Hey! No. Just no. This is not that. This isn't a lover's squabble or a regular break up. He was attacked by a Villain and might not even know it. He did not leave because he doesn't trust you. He left because the little idiot thinks he's protecting you. I've seen you two fight together. Hell, I've seen you fight each other, and there is zero chance or less that he doesn't completely trust you with his life. So what makes you think he wouldn't trust you with something like this? Do you think for one second that if he knew what was happening to him were a quirk he would try to swallow it all on his own?" "
Shaking his head the ruby-eyed male tried to defend his fears. "He left a note. He just kept apologizing for everything and saying that I was right to treat him like shit in middle school. He's so strong but this fucking thing he's dealing with is making him weak. I'm... I'm scared. He said he was going to give up being a Hero and try vigilantism. Deku doesn't quit! That fucking Nerd never gives up on anything, not even me! How? HOW? How could he give up on himself?!?!"
The teen was starting to work himself back up and the mother in front of him knew the signs. Quickly creating two small handfuls of show she squeezed each to form a snow pack and gently placed them under the boy's now rather puffy eyes. "Iiissshhh I hate cold shit!"
"Suck it up Buttercup. Or did you WANT everyone in the building to see that you've been crying?" Nodding and forcing out a shy 'thank you' the explosion quirk user held the cold snow to his face until it had completely melted.
While Bakugo collected himself and confided in his mentor, Quake and Sagasu had already started their search for clues. Discreetly, they began asking around the tower to see if anyone had by chance seen the missing Hero in training in the last two weeks. However, as with so many workplaces, gossip moves quickly despite the best of preventive efforts. Before long the tower was buzzing with word that the search team Pros were looking for everybody's favorite Green Bean.
Hearing the news, the main receptionist Kaede excused herself to the private ladies room on the second floor. Once inside the soundproof room she pulled out her phone and hit the speed dial for her real boss. Igishi picked up after only two rings and the cold tone of his voice let her know right away that she was in deep shit.
"Why have I STILL not heard any news about our little walking traffic light tearing apart that sorry excuse for a school yet Darkside?" A chill went down the woman's spine at the implied threat. She had to make this right or she wasn't going to be around long enough to see the fallout.
"There's been a problem. Well not a problem per-say but a development. It seems the little shit has gone missing so that would explain why we haven't heard anything." Waiting with bated breath the silence on the other end of the phone was terrifying.
"Is the explosive one missing as well?"
"No sir, in fact he is here. Seems like him and that loser All Might came to form some kind of search party for the other one."
"Good. Get HIM. Make the onset short, full effect in one week. Make it as intense as you can without making it obvious. If the search goes on all those idiot Pros will grow frustrated and with his reputation a little extra anger would go unnoticed. We should be able to work this to our advantage if YOU can do your job properly this time. Because Kaede, I think I have had more than a generous amount of patience with you so far. Do you agree?"
"Yes sir."
"Good. Let's not push my generosity further. I don't think you would like it if that happens." The sound of the call disconnecting brought a flush of panic to the now shaking undercover Villain.
"You don't have time for this, you stupid bitch. Get your shit together and go find the little fucker and make damn sure the intensity is high enough to get him to snap in less than two weeks." Pep talk over, Darkside splash water on her attractive face and forced her mouth back into the smile she'd made herself wear the last four months since joining Might Tower. Her colleagues all thought her quirk was an ability to use alcohol as fuel meaning she could never get drunk. It made for several interesting after work get-togethers. It was fun to use her hidden talent for drinking Sake to reinforce the ruse.
Heading back to the front desk she smiled at the Pros she passed in the halls and elevator before spotting the very person she needed. Stepping up and sitting behind the smooth marble table-top she winked at a non-uniformed Dynamight and internalized a curse of outrage when the boy dared roll his eyes at her. Men with twice his looks would fall over themselves for her to flirt with them and this asshole had the gall to scoff at her advances?!
Knowing she needed to get close to him in a somewhat isolated area away from the observant eyes of others to activate her true quirk successfully, she played her role and smiled past him to Squall's goodie-two-shoes sister. As the bluette turned in her direction, the sweet receptionist waved the lovely Hero over. "Hey Flurry! Do you know what's got everybody in a tizzy? I haven't heard about any big missions, but something seems to have everybody worked up."
Stepping up to the oversized receiving desk the slightly annoyed woman approached the sickeningly sweet head receptionist. Flurry wasn't the woman's biggest fan. Her over the top innocent attitude just came off as fake and forced to the seasoned Pro but making an enemy of the person who helped find your clients for private assignments wasn't wise. "Hey Kaede. Yeah, I do actually but it's kind of on the DL. Can you step out for just a minute?"
It took a considerable amount of effort for Darkside to hold back a cringe at the out of date term but she managed. Nodding and trying to look confused, the secret Villain followed the trainer and her intern to an empty side hall. They were going to make this easy for her and they didn't even know it.
After checking that there were no others around the slightly older female explained what all the bother was about. "Have you seen my intern lately?"
"Um yeah?" Pointing to Bakugo, the slightly nervous double agent took a step closer to the blonde and lightly wrapped her arms around one of his. "He's right here. Are you ok Flurry?"
"Not him. The other one."
"Oh! The adorable green haired boy with the freckles?" If looks could kill, Keade would be dead. She dared not turn her head to see the look of irritation on the face of the youth next to her. But she sure as hell could feel it. Like he was glaring at her very soul. "No, not for a couple of weeks. I thought the internships were on a break until White Day so I didn't think anything of it. Why? Is he missing or something?"
Before either of her companions could answer her question, a tall man with a long orange braid down the middle of his back came around the corner looking for the snow quirk user. "Flurry! Thank goodness you haven't left yet. Sagasu is on the roof, she said she has something for you but won't tell me what."
"Thanks Moeru." Turning back to the other two, the bluette locked eyes with her charge. "I'll go see what she's found. Your spare costume is in the lockers so I'd go change first then hang down here in the lobby so you're ready to move if she's picked something up."
A short nod and a shake of his arm to remove the parasite still attached to it confirmed his understanding of the usually jovial woman's instruction. Once she was out of earshot the artificially friendly receptionist spoke up again, preventing him from leaving. "Your little partner got lost down the rabbit hole didn't he?"
Snapping his head around, the blonde future Hero slowly lost focus as he watched the suddenly sultry female cross her arms under her chest pushing her cleavage up high. The fuck is up with this chick's voice? The hell does it sound like that all of a sudden? And what in the absolute hell is she talking about? Does she know something about ...
