~{Chapter 18}~*this chapter is about when Brainy broke up with Nia (05x10) she cried over the breakup.
then months later, Brainy sees her with a guy... Which makes him a little jealous of her dating someone else.

*Brainy's POV*
I went to go get a haircut at the National City Mall. it's near work
Since I'm the director of the DEO now. I stopped to see Nia with
Some guy at a table in the food court. I began to feel "jealousy" seeing her
On a date with someone else... I try to be happy for her.
But I can't help but want to be her boyfriend again.
Did she really get over me... That quickly. I thought to myself.
I eavesdrop on their conversation using my earpiece. as I adjusted it to
Hear them talking clearly while hiding behind a wall.

As Brainy heard...
"So, you work at Catco?" He asked.

"Yes. I'm a reporter." Nia answered softly.

he nodded. "I'm gonna get us some drinks...
I'll be right back." He said while standing up.

"Ok," Nia said softly while nodding.
She sighed sadly. Missing Brainy...
Even though, he broke up with her
she still loved him.

And that's when Brainy steps in to say to her...
"Nia, who was that?! Are you dating that guy?" Brainy asked Nia
Unsettled about the fact that she's with another guy.

Which kinda startled Nia at first then she rolled
her eyes at Brainy (Her ex-boyfriend) with annoyance.
"Calm down, Brainy. He's just a guy I met when I was shopping
For Kara's birthday. And he just wanted to get some drinks with me.
That's all! Nothing happened." She answered as she stood up and shouted
At him with fire🔥in her eyes...

Brainy nodded. "Oh, I see. My bad... apologies."
He said nervously while apologizing for being upset.

Nia added. "Yeah, you should be...
Why do you care? You're the one who Broke up with me". She said upset while crossing
her arms and glared at Brainy.

"Yes, I did. But that doesn't mean I stopped Loving you!
Nia Nal. And I never wanted to break up with you in the first place...
What I said to you on that night. I didn't mean any of it!
I only did it for your protection..." Brainy said with passion

Nia stopped crossing her arms
She gasped. While looking into his eyes
And seeing he truly meant.
they were just inches closer to each other.
both were panting breathlessly from the shouting and their argument
about their breakup.

As they immediately leaned into one another
Pressing their lips and smiling at each other.
While making out... Like they haven't done for months!
Brainy and Nia broke the kiss. As he placed his hand on her cheek
Which made her smile brightly✨. he smiled back at her when seeing
Her smile again! Since he hasn't seen her smile since the breakup.

And then, their moment was cut short...
When the guy she was with earlier came up to her with their drinks.

"Oh, who's this? Nia." Jack asked.

Nia looked at Brainy and back at Jack
To say...
"Oh, this is my boyfriend," Nia answered happily
Smiling at Brainy. As he smiled at Nia for her calling him
Her "boyfriend" again.

"Yes, indeed I am." Brainy confirm being her
Current Boyfriend again!
So, this guy wouldn't get any ideas...
Brainy being an over-protective boyfriend.
Since they did happen to kiss and
talked things through and made up just seconds ago.

*An hour later*
After that, Brainy took her hand and they walked back to her apartment together,
he told her everything. Meaning the truth. As Nia understood why he broke up with her...
it was to protect her. Which he always does when it comes to Her and the people he loves!

"When I saw you talking with that guy at the mall..." He paused sadly.
As he looked up at her.
"I didn't like it," Brainy said softly with a sad look.

Nia saw the sad look in his eyes at the thought of
Seeing her with someone else. As she held his hand dearly and said.
"Brainy, I promise you. nothing happened...
we were just talking," she said softly.

"Still. I didn't like seeing You with someone else.
It really pained me to see that. And if I've never
broken up with you... Then" Brainy said bursting into tears.
he felt them flowing down his cheeks...

Oh, why am I crying?!" He shouted in tears
questioning why he's crying😭.
Nia saw him struggling with his emotions
Since his inhibitors are off now. For feeling so much at once...

"Hey, Brainy listen...
It's ok. You're feeling your emotions
that you haven't felt in a long...
With your personality inhibitors off." She said softly while comforting him.

Brainy nodded.
"Yeah you're right," he said agreeing with her.
He added. "I just want you to be safe. And I-I..."
Nia interrupted him and said. "Brainy, I know that. that's what you do for the people you love❤️.
Including me. But Breaking up with me, pushing me away, and avoiding me
to Protect me... That won't help keep me safe. You know that." Nia said speaking the truth!
She added. "But telling the truth and being honest with me will keep me safe.
don't forget I'm Dreamer. I'm not the type of woman to be protected..." she said lovely.

"Of course, Nia. You're right it was wrong of me to keep the truth from you in order
to protect you. When you're already capable of protecting yourself...
You're a woman who stops tidal waves, and dreams of extraordinary things." Brainy said softly as he looks at Nia lovely.

"It's ok, Brainy. I know everything you do for me
is out of "love❤️" That's why it didn't seem right
for you to break up with me. Like you weren't yourself...
And I was right."Nia said compassionately
While telling him that she had a feeling that something was off about him...

After that, they hugged.
both whispered "I love you" into each other's ears.
they pinkie sweared to not keep secrets from each other
Ever again! No matter what. So, they have to keep the promise.
And they did!

*Later at Night*
"He sleeps". She said softly while looking at him sleeping peacefully.
she kissed him on the cheek Lovely. And pressed her lips against his.
And that kinda woke him up😅Brainy opened his eyes and looked into Nia's beautiful,
chocolate-brown eyes as she looked into his bright, brilliant✨eyes... Nia got into bed
Laid beside him and covered herself with her bed sheets and fell asleep dreaming of something.
Impossible🌌! As Brainy did the same thing by going into [Sleep mode].
