"Thank you mom" she says sobbing in my arms
"You don't have to thank me, it's my job as your mom" I tell her hugging her tightly and kissing her over and over "I love you baby"
My daughter sobs in my arms not saying a word, I have tears rolling down my eyes too
"I love you too" she says back after a few minutes
That's the first time she's said it back since Christmas
"What do you want to do today? We can do whatever you want"
"Can we go to Disneyland?"
I hesitate a little, it's hard to go out in public places, but I promised myself that this year I'd stop trying to hide so that I could spend time out with my daughter as much as I can
"Yes hun, we can do whatever you want, I'll just call extra security okay?"
She nods in my arms
"Thank you"
"You don't have to thank me, now let's wipe these tears so that we can finish breakfast and get ready okay?"
She nods and we both walk back downstairs
"Are you guys okay? You look like you've been crying"
"We're fine don't worry" I say placing a peck on his lips
We continue eating breakfast
"Trav?"
"Yeah?"
"Would you mind going with some friends or something? I'm going with Kas to Disney"
"Oh no, mom it's fine he can co-"
"No i think it'll be nice if it's just us two" I interrupt her
"You sure?" She asks and I see tears well up in her eyes
"Yes honey, of course I'm sure" I say giving her a hug
"Yeah, you guys go ahead, I can see if I can meet some friends in town, or I'll just hang here with the cats" trav smiles

Our day at Disneyland was the most fun I've had in a while. We rode all the rides Kassie wanted to and had all the treats I wanted.
Throughout the day, we had bursts of laughter we couldn't control, things finally were feeling like old times.
We were in the back of the car going home as my daughter slept snuggled into my chest
"I love you" I whisper
