We hear a groan coming from the bed and look over to see Kas opening her eyes
"What happened?" She asks in pain as she holds her face in her arms
"You had surgery, don't you remember hun?"
"No, last i remember we got to the hospital and i was almost passing out from the pain"
"You were awake about an hour ago, don't you remember hun?" I say trying to hold back my tears
"No"
"Will you guys let me speak to her privately please?"
"Of course, we'll be right back okay baby?"
"Okay" Kas nods
"You don't have to say it" she says as soon as they leave "I know, I'm in trouble for drinking and I know I should've answered your questions and not ignored at the hotel and not snuck out when i was grounded"
"Hun, I have to apologize to you too, I'm not punishing you for anything besides drinking, the rest of it was my fault, i should've believed you when Sam and Frankie said you were in pain, and I'm not grounding you for attempting to sneak out because you guys were just trying to get help"
"I'm sorry but you were really mad and didn't believe me"
"Hun it's okay, I should've believed you"
"I get why you didn't"
"No, regardless of what's happened i should have believed you, but im not letting this be your punishment this time, you're grounded for a month, no phone, no computer, no tablet, and your coming on tour with me"
"Are you f- serious?" She asks rolling her eyes
"Yeah, because I'm tired of your shit Kassandra, I always let you off without a punishment and it's time you learn your lesson"
"But Sam's sweet sixteen is this weekend, she's my best friend, I have to be there for her"
"I don't give a shit, you're grounded, besides I don't think Sam's having a party after I call Their parents"
"Mom you can't do that! They weren't drinking, I paid someone to fill my bottle up with vodka because I was sad because of Diego, Sam and Frankie told me not to, you can't punish them for something I did"
"You've told me so many lies lately that I can't believe you"
"Mom it was all my idea, you can't do that to them they tried convincing me i shouldn't but I still did it, punish me for an extra two weeks but don't punish them because of me"
"Fine, yeah, okay, but you're grounded an extra two weeks, and your not going to Sam's party, and I don't want to hear any whining because for every time I hear you whine about it your getting an extra week, and as soon as we get home, you're handing over all of your electronics and I'm taking the tv from your room, I'm also taking your car"
"How am I supposed to go to dads?"
"We'll drive you like we used to, and I'm also taking your door off the hinges"
"What? No you can't do th-"
"Is that whining I hear?" I scold
She doesn't respond but instead gives me a death stare
"Hun, there's something else I need to talk to you about" I say speaking softly
"About?"
"Tree called a few hours ago, it's about the Joe situation" I say still being able to say the word, it hurts to even think that he hurt my daughter like this and I had no idea, to think I loved him and welcomed him into my home
"I don't want to talk about it" she says as tears begin to fall
"I know hun, but remember i promised I'd only bring it up if it was absolutely necessary?" She nods "well it is, we need more proof, they've asked for you to come into court and talk about what happened, we only have 24 hours to answer back, otherwise he gets out of jail"
"No"
"What do you mean no?"
"I'm not going to court" she says crying
"Hun you have to, he needs to be in jail"
"No, just accept it mom, he's getting out" she cries "we don't have more proofs, and I don't want to speak about it further, everyone would know what happened if we went to court and I don't want that, don't try to avenge this, just accept he's getting out, it's been six years, I'm used to him being free, I lived with him for years after that happened, I can live with him being free in another continent" she cries
"But Kas-"
"Please mom, I need to to be on the same page as me for once in my life"
"Fine, but please let me at least try to fix things in the time we have left, if I can't, I promise I'll honor your wishes"
"Ok" she nods "thank you mom"
"I love you baby, I'll do anything for you okay?"
"Like thinking over that punishment?"
"No, because it's exactly what you deserve, it's all of your punishments that piled up over time"
Are you serious? Don't you think it's a little harsh?"
"Are you whining?"
"No" she says rolling her eyes
"Mom? There's been something I've been meaning to tell you and since we're already here alone-" she says but is interrupted by a nurse that comes in To check on her
"What was that you wanted to tell me hun?" I say a few minutes later after the nurse has left
"Nothing mom, I don't think it's the right time anyway"
"Are you sure hun?"
"Yeah" she sighs
Authors note: I promise the punishment will be good for Kas and Taylor's relationship so that you guys can stop nagging me about it lol
