I can't believe mom didn't forget the Barbie on Christmas. Usually I would say it's the stupidest idea, I mean i haven't played with Barbie's in a few years, so they usually just end up going to storage, but I was going to make sure this one would go on my shelf with all of my medals and trophies from gymnastics when I was younger.
Feeling that your mom has forgotten you and missing out on all of your Christmas traditions is not a fun experience. I never wanted that stupid Barbie more, I still think its ridiculous, but that day alone I just needed a reminder that my mom hadn't forgotten about me and not finding the present under the tree it felt like my entire world had clashed down.
I hug my mom close to me for a few minutes in order to calm down before going back out. My mom hugs me tightly, resting her head on mine and placing gentle kisses on my head every few seconds, it feels like she needed this hug just as much as I did.
Before going back out I go on my phone and answer a few birthday messages and post a picture on instagram
