Chapter Thirty-nine

Danielle's P.O.V.
Today is Christmas. All of my family is down here again for the holiday. It's going to be weird without Michael here, I'm still not talking to him. Within a few days of Thanksgiving, he tried calling me. He tries to call me a few times a week, I ignore it, and don't call him back. Ryan told me that Michael has called him, and asked him to talk to me about forgiving him. It's not going to happen for a while. He didn't even stand up for me when Casey said that stuff to me in front of my whole family. Honestly, it bothers me that he picked Casey. I can think of lots of people better than her. He knows/ knew how I feel about her but it's whatever. I don't need to be worrying about that today. Today is one of my favorite days of the year. Luke and I get up at 9, to open presents then, before we open anything I look at him and say "next year, we will have two babies here to celebrate Christmas with" He smiles and says "I can't wait" I tell him to go first. I hand him a box, he opens it, it's some new hunting gear. Then I hand him a a very thin long box, he opens it, and the look on his face is priceless, it's a new rifle. He gives me a hug, and kisses my forehead. He still has a few more to open. I hand him another box, which has a few new shirts in it, then I hand him another long thin box, but it doesn't have a gun in it. It's a new fishing pole. Then the last box I hand him is small, he opens it and give me a confused look, because it is a set of keys. I smirk, and get up leading him to the garage. He opens the door, and he sees his new side by side that I got him. He picks me up, and kisses me. I laugh at him, I guess men never do grow up. Then he remembers that I still havent opened any of my presents, so we go back to the living room. He hands me a medium size box, and in side of the box is a photo album. Inside of the album there is pictures that I haven't seen before. I flip through it, with Luke right by my side. If starts out with pictures from when he sang to me on stage and asked me to be his girlfriend, then to pictures from when we were dating, then it goes to engagement photos, then to the wedding,I'm almost to the end, where there are honeymoon photos, followed by the picture Ryan took of us announcing the pregnancy. Then some maternity photos, followed by the most recent ultrasound. There are some blank pages after that, so I can fill them. I have some tears running down my face. I look at Luke, and he wipes them away. I give him a kiss, and thank him. Next I open a larger box, which is a new pair of uggs. Then I open another large box, it's a Vera Bradley diaper bag, and a new purse that matches it. Then I open a really small box, it's a necklace, it has a tree, with a few empty branches, some are filled, by my birthstone, Luke's birthstone, and what the boy's birthstones are going to be. I turn it over and on it has our names on the back of the branches. I get teary eyed at that too. Then Luke hands me another small box. It's not a jewelry box, it's the size of a book. I open it up, and I see that it's two plane tickets, for Paris. But it's not for Luke and I. It's for Kandice and I, so we can have a girls trip. The trip is for 10 days next October. I give him a hug, and keep thanking him for everything. That's when Luke tells me that there is one more thing outside from him. We put on our jackets, and go outside. There is a brand-new Tahoe with a big bow on it. I look at him and say "are you serious?" He smiles and says "You need room for the boys, so you needed a bigger car." I give him a hug, and go look at my new car. I climb inside, it has two sunroofs, leather seats, it holds 8 people, then I look in the back, there are DVD players in the back of the headrest of both mine and the passenger side seats, as well as the second row too. He climbs in the other side, and says that we're going to get coffee, so I can drive it. I put it in reverse, and there is a backup camera, along with backup sensors. There is navigtion, 24 hour road side assistance, a car phone, and a button for an emergency also. He always thinks of everything.It's perfect.

Luke's P.O.V.
It's our first Christmas as husband and wife. I hope she likes everything that I got her. She cried twice, so I think that I did good. When I opened the garage door and saw a side by side, I felt like a little kid. I guess she thought I looked like one, because she laughed at me. She loves her new car too. So everything worked out. She has the ham in the oven, and all of us guys are watching football, while the girls talk in the kitchen. I gave Ryan the ring earlier, he's going to ask Hannah when we open up presents from family. He looks so nervous, but he's going to do great. Danielle is headed upstairs for something, I follow her up. I see that she grabbed the photo album I gave her. I was leaning up against the door way, and she got on her tippy toes and kissed me. I say to her "We should tell them now, before you show them the ultrasound picture" She laughs, and we head downstairs. I ask the guys to come in the kitchen. Once everyone is in there. Danielle says "As you all know, we're expecting, but there is something you don't know" Ryan says "Let me guess, it's a girl" We laugh and say "we're having twins." Laurie looks like she is going to pass out, and so does my mom. After a minute, they come to it, and congratulate us. Now they realize that, that means two new babies. I think that they're even more excited now.Well I'm glad that they all took it well. Everyone heads to the dining room, because dinner is ready. We say grace, and eat. Then us guys do dishes, and let the women have a break. After dishes are done, it's gift opening time. Danielle gives Laurie her present, which is a new outfit, then I give my mom her gift. Danielle picked it out,it's two new shirts. Then Steve and Ron get their presents from Danielle. Steve got a new shirt, and Danielle gave Ron some new tools. I gave my dad his present, which was a new fishing pole.Danielle gave Darlene a new shirt. She gave Lorraine her grandma some of her favorite perfume. Then I gave my grandma some new pajamas. Danielle and I give Ryan his present which is a new Patriots Jersey along with tickets to a game. Everything Danielle gave her family was from the both of us. Danielle gave Hannah her present, which is tickets to see Carrie Underwood, because she loves Carrie. Plus, there is meet and greet with the tickets.That's a surprise, for her the night of the concert, since both her and Danielle are going to the concert. Everything I gave my family was from the both of us also. Now Laurie and Steve give me a present, which is more hunting stuff, which is what I got from Ryan, and my parents too. Ron gives me some stuff for fishing. Then Laurie gives Danielle some new clothes, which is what my parents got her too. Danielle's dad got her a new North face. Then Ryan and Hannah gave her a new outfit, along with a Baby's R Us gift card. Ryan gave his parents each a gift card from him and Hannah. Now it's Ryan's turn to give Hannah her present. He starts out by getting down on one knee. Danielle reaches over and hits me, I grab her hand and squeeze it. Ryan then says "Hannah Elizabeth Bradley, I love you so much, and I love you more every second of everyday, I don't know how I got so lucky, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me, I don't know what I would do without you. That's why I'm asking you to spend the rest of your life with me, because I don't ever want to lose you. So, Hannah Elizabeth Bradley, Will you marry me?" She's crying and she nods her head, yes, then she chokes out a yes. Danielle is crying. I try not to laugh at her, it's her hormones. Ryan slides the ring on her finger, and kisses her. I got the whole thing on video, so that way she can watch it later. Today was a great day. One of the best Christmas' that I have ever had.
