Chapter 13

"So what now? Clean out another cell block and let it happen again?" Glenn asked.

"We won't let it happen again." Hershel replied.

"There's only eleven now. I believe we can manage." I added.

"Let's get on it then." Rick ordered.

"Please don't leave." Lizzie pleaded to Carol.

"I have to, sweetie. Hey, you know Sam. She'll read you a bedtime story, and make you feel safe and at home." Carol replied.

I smiled, looking at the little girl.

"I don't want you going in there." Rick mumbled.

"I'll be alright." I replied.

My heart jumped to my throat as a bulldozer pushed our fences down.

I watched as The Governor got out of his truck before all of his people did.

I walked over to Rick, an odd look on his face.

"Rick, how about you come down here and let's have a little chat!" The Governor yelled.

I nearly dropped to my knees as some of his men pulled Hershel and Michonne out of a van.

I looped my fingers through the fence, not taking my eyes off of what was happening.

Turning around, Daryl nudged my side with a rifle before handing everyone else a weapon.

I chambered a round into the rifle before walking over to Carl.

"I can take him, right here." Carl mumbled.

"Better not." Daryl replied, standing on the other side of him.

Chills ran up my spine as The Governor swung a sword into Hershel's neck.

Everything happened so quick I thought I was going to lose my mind.

Maggie and I quickly ran into the prison after canons were fired, finding the kids and Glenn.

Beth helped me get them on the bus, and people began shooting at us.

I ran down back to the prison, or what was left of it, and found Judith.

I quickly ran inside and got her diaper bag before looking around one last time.

Our home is gone, we lost people, and we're all split up now.

"We need to go." Tyreese stated, taking Judith from my arms.

I nodded, Lizzie and Mika running up to us.

I turned around, not seeing Rick anywhere.

I couldn't lose him.

"Let's go." I mumbled.

"I'm scared! It's getting too dark." Mika mumbled.
