"I just wanted to apologize for what happened. I assumed you were really stressed, and I just wanted to help. I'm sorry that I'm a dumbass, and that I hurt you instead of helping." Carter explained.

"It's okay." I mumbled.

"Do you wanna go on a run with me? We can get to know each other better, and I promise I won't spike your drink." He laughed.

"Where are you going?" I asked, considering the offer.

"I'm going with Tara to stock up on some more can foods, supplies, and just the regular stuff." He replied.

"Okay." I replied.

"So you'll come?" He asked.

"Sure." I smiled.

"Cool, meet us at the gates in five?" He suggested.

"Okay." I replied, bumping into Rick as I walked up onto the porch.

"You're not going." Rick stated.

"Tara will be there, it's fine." I replied.

"Tara was with you last night and look what happened." He replied.

"It's okay, I can take care of myself." I replied, getting my AK47 and my pistol.

"Can you really take on a 6'3, two-hundred and thirty pound guy?" He asked.

I shrugged my shoulders before walking outside.

-

I laughed, Tara tripping over a stump and almost face planting.

"We're about there." Carter mumbled, the truck slowing down.

"The store is that way." Tara stated, pointing behind us.

"Not where we're going." He replied.

"A barn?" Tara asked, the truck taking a turn into an open area and a barn was right in the middle.

We all got out of the truck before Carter aimed his rifle at us.

"Give me your weapons." He ordered.

"Okay, you're really funny." Tara laughed.

He shot the tree right beside her head, and we immediately took him seriously.

I put my guns down on the ground before pulling my knife out of it's holster.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Getting what I wanted." He replied.

"What's that?" Tara asked.

"Sam. I got you to come because I knew Sam wouldn't come if you didn't." He told Tara.

"You can go back now." He told Tara.

"Are you an idiot or what?" She asked.

"If you tell anyone that I kidnapped her, I'll kill her." He replied.

"Go back, Tara. I'll be okay." I replied, Carter's hand wrapping around my arm.

"I'm not going to leave you." She replied.

"Go." I ordered, trying to talk with my eyes.

She got the memo and ran to the truck once Carter pulled me into the barn.

"If you obey, the easier this will be." He replied.

"It doesn't look like I have a choice." I mumbled, my ankles being chained to the ground and my wrists being put in cuffs which was chained to the ceiling.
