I've had major writer's block. Honestly, this is the longest time I've had my mind on a book, but recently I've been distracted. This isn't something I could've told anyone in person, but I can say it via type.

I'm going to see my grandpa on my mom's side Saturday (tomorrow as of the day I'm writing this) for Mother's Day, even though I don't care about my grandma and step-grandma (I'm just gonna say it like Elsie did: they're asses. I'm serious, they just gossip). It sounds mean, I know. But I'm dead serious when I say that one of them gossips and is depressed about life and the other one married my grandpa for his money.

I'm sorry if this sounds really conceited and selfish of me to say, but I just need to get it out. I'm just so worried that this might be the last time I'll get to see my grandpa. He's in bad condition, and his lung capacity is at 22%, meaning his lungs are 22% working. He can only get a transplant at 25%, nevertheless he'll probably die during surgery so it's not even worth it. On my dad's side, my grandma, grandpa, and step-grandpa are legitimately, truthfully crazy, so this grandpa is the only trustworthy and caring grandparent I have left.

I just don't know what to do; my worst fear is that he'll die before I even make it to his town, which is two and a half hours away.

Sorry for being selfish. Without further ado, here's the chappity chap chap! The part we all know and love is going to come soon. Not in this chap, but soon :3

Utica's POV

I walked to school quick, because when you're out for two weeks plus, people ask you where you've been. I tried to act like I didn't hear them and just headed to second hour Calculus II. Once I stepped in, Micki and Cody embraced me and asked me where I've been, but I just told them I was sick. Not believing it, they just let it go. Cody pecked me on the lips and said, "I missed you babe."

The day was boring, honestly. We played dodgeball in P.E., we wrote a short story in Writing. Wanna know what mine was about? A girl loosing her mom and sister. Yay.

So, let me catch you up to speed. Cider nowadays drives her own car because her mom is busy with work, and she didn't want her to drive to school until she had two years of perfection. Protective much? Heh, that's what my...mom...would say...Sh*t! I need to stop being so depressed about all of this! But...how can I not be when I can't face the facts still?

I walked into Chem and sat down with a sigh, quickly wiping away a hitchhiking tear. Only Ari was at the table, and she gave me a smile. "I know you don't want to be reminded, but how're you holding up?"

"Decent enough." I sighed, getting out a pencil.

"I can see that look in your eyes, Ui. It's not okay." Ari frowned.

"Of course it's not okay." I murmured, tilting my head down. Ari wiped a tear I could remember rolling down the side of my face and brought me into a hug. I hugged her back, sniffling. We stayed like that until the bell rang, and we had realized that Cider and Elsie were watching us with smug smiles on their faces.

"Why didn't you separate us?" Ari laughed slightly.

"You looked like you needed it." Cider nodded, her smugness leaving.

"Daniel will be late, I'm afraid." Elsie said from out of nowhere.

"Why?" I asked. "What did you do this time with that ol' Daniel?"

She didn't have to answer. Daniel stomped into the room and sat in his seat, soaking wet in his hair. "Get dunked on!" Elsie called, and then burst out laughing. "Cold water balloons." Cider explained during Elsie's fit of hysteria. "The drama kids are having this prank war-thing. It's stupid."
