Utica's POV

We were up all night waiting for them to return. The sky was dark and the sun set, like, an hour ago. "I'm starting to get worried..." I mumbled. Elsie, Luke, Wendy, and little Nala were sitting with us on the bench on the porch.

Suddenly, a car sped through the gates and people got out. We gasped in more ways then one. First off, the boys are...naked. Holy sh*tica. But Hunter and Theo are carrying Ari and Cider; Cider looked scared for her life and Ari was...bleeding?!

Elsie screamed and put her hand on her mouth. My eyes were widened and my mouth hung open. They ran to the doctor's house, and we all followed after them. When we got in, they all had clothes on but Hunter, who was rushing with a girl that looked like the doctor. I felt someone pull me onto their lap, and I instantly leaned back. "What happened?!" I asked Tanner.

"She said my life..." An unfamiliar person said morbidly. He and another guy sat next to Theo and Cider. Elsie and Ian were next to me, and they were next to Cider and Theo.

"What?" Elsie asked, looking like she was about to cry.

"Ari, she...she sacrificed herself for me." The same guy murmured.

The boys growled, and I placed a hand on Tanner's leg to calm him down.

Elsie got up and walked out of the hospital. Scrunching up my nose, I got up and went after her. We leaned up against the wall and noticed that the sun was barely even in the sky anymore. "What's gonna happen?" Elsie asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I...I don't know," I replied, sniffing. "Everything just seems to revolve around us—" I paused to laugh lightly, unhumorously. "—right?"

She laughed unamused too, slumping down to the ground. I followed her action and leaned on her shoulder. What is gonna happen? I'm so confused, and I just want be okay again. Everything is so dark and gory now, when a week ago it was so happy. Why does pain exist? Why can't everyone live in peace and happiness?!

Damn this world. It's such a horrible place. But if it were perfect, we wouldn't get to choose. I won't be able to have a say in anything or go do things my way. I just...My world never looked so dark, even when there's street lamps lighting up the night. Why don't they ever go out? Why do they always stay bright, taunting you when your bulb is burnt?

The last thing I remember is falling asleep, a tear running down my left cheek.

Hunter's POV

"Serena, do what you can!" I yelled, pacing back and forth with my hands gripping tight on my hair; so tightly it might've fallen out.

"She's loosing blood fast." A nurse told Serena. So many nurses were crowded around my mate——no——my best friend, and it terrified me.

"Hook her up to a B4II." Serena instructed.

That same nurse grabbed a small tube connected to a bag of clear fluid and injected it into Aria's arm, placing a sticker-patch-thing over it to keep it in place. Eventually I took a seat in one of the chairs. It was an hour of nonstop crowding around her and shouting medical terms that I didn't understand, nor did I want to.
