Chapter 97: Heart Skipped A Beat

[Shane's POV]

Shane: Are you okay?

Joey: Shane are you? How may times did he hit you?

Shane: I stopped counting after 4.

Joey: Why didn't I do something! Why didn't I punch him?

Shane: Hey you blocked him from me!

Joey: Then I let him push me to the ground!

Shane: You're not hurt which is a good thing Joey!

Joey: Yeah, but you are.

Shane: I'm fine Joey...

Joey: Your eye is going to swell....

Shane: It'll be okay!

Joey: Is that what he was....like...when you were a kid?

Shane: Sorta.

Whitney burst in through the door.

Whitney: Oh my god! Are you guys okay?

Joey helped me up from the floor onto my feet

Shane: Yep.

Whitney: Who was that man?

Shane: Umm...my...my...

Joey: It was Shane's dad.

Whitney: Oh gosh! What did he do?

*Later that day, around 6pm*

After what happened earlier, I just stayed in bed watching Netflix with Joey. I had called my mom soon after the little visit from my dad and told her what he did. She was pretty shocked. I offered her if she wanted me and Joey to stay with her for a few nights in case he tried to get to her, but she insisted for Joey and I to go on our vacation, but I didn't want her to be alone, so I got Jerid to stay.

Joey: Are you doing okay?

Shane: Yup...

Joey: We've been in bed for too long, we should finish packing.

Shane: Yeah, okay.

I really wasn't in the mood to pack. Actually, I wasn't in the mood to do anything, it had to be done though.

Joey: We should just enjoy this vacation, and try and forget about your dad.

Shane: You're right, that's the point of the vacation, forget about all the shit.

[Joey's POV]

Nicole: How's it goin little bro? <3

Joey: Not good?

Nicole: Oh, what's going on?

Joey: Shane's clearly homophobic dad showed up at our apartment.

Nicole: OMG Joey! Did he hurt you or Shane?

Joey: He hit Shane a few times

Nicole: Is he okay?

Joey: He says he is, but I'm worried about him

Nicole: Just make sure he's okay!

Joey: I'll keep asking him now and again

Nicole: Good, I'll see you guys at the airport tomorrow

Joey: Okay, bye!
