Do I Have Your Blessing? Chpt. 22

DANIELS POV
Today I need to ask Jonah if I can date his sister. Do I need too? Yes! I do. What will he say? What would he think?

"Hey Jonah, can I talk to you for a second, alone?" I ask him.

"Yeah man, what's up?" Jonah says. We walk into the kitchen and I make sure no one else is around.

"So, IlikeyoursisterandIwanttoknowifIhaveyourblessing" I say fast.

"Slow down there Daniel"

"Can I ask your sister out? I wanted to ask you first just in case you wouldn't let me and I-"

"Yeah, sure. It's about time you asked! I thought you would days ago!"

"Yeah, I finally grew the courage to do it so... thats a yeah. Right?"

"Yep, now go ask her before I change my mind!"

"Thanks, man. I owe you one" I run up to her room and knock on the door. I hear music blasting from her room.

"Hey! What's up!" She says opening the door wide enough to let me in, "Come in!" She motioned me to come in.

"I needed to ask you something"

"Shoot me!"

"What?" Why did she say to shoot her?

"Oh... not like that. I mean ask me the question. Shoot me!"

"Oh, okay. I wanted to know if y-" the door flung open to reveal Jack. "Oh hey Jack" I say.

"Hey guys!" He says, "did I miss something?"

"Um... no, so what do you need Jack?" I ask him.

"Just needed to know if my shirt was in here. I haven't been able to find it!"

"Oh, I get it." I start to say, "I'll leave you two to it!" I get up and leave the room. Why would his shirt be in there? Does she like me? Are they dating? Does she think I'm cute?

"How did it go?" Jonah asks me.

"I didn't ask her. Jack came in asking her if she still had his shirt. Ugh I'm so stupid! There is no way she likes me!" I tell Jonah.

"You should tell her you were the guys with her in the closet. She have been wondering who it was once it happened!"

"What!" I hear from behind me. I turn around and see Zoe standing there. "Daniel, where you the one during seven minutes of heaven?" She asks me.

"I um"

"I'm going to leave you both to this!" Jonah says and goes back to his room. Zoe walks over to me and sits on the counter.

"It was you?" She asks me.

"Yeah, you told me you didn't want to know who it was so I never said anything about it. I didn't want to ruin our friendship!" She starts the get off the counter and walks over too me.

"Daniel, I really like you. You should have told me! I probably sound like a fool right now because I know you don't feel the same way!" She says.

"Well... that's what I wanted to tell you upstairs before Jack walked in!"

"Stop giving me pity, Daniel."

"Zoey Ann Marais, I really like you! Would you like to go out on a date with me?" She walks closer to me. We both start to lean in. Once the gap between us was closed, I felt sparks. It was perfect. We may have started to make out until someone wakes in.

"Hey gu- oh okay bye!" We hear zach say. We both pull away as soon as we hear him.

"Oh no, we emotionally scared underage Zach!" Zoe says jokingly. "Dude come back, we will keep it PG-13 this time!"

"Why me? It's like when you walk in on your mom and dad making out. But worse, your two best friends!" Zach says. All three of us start laughing.

"Zach, please don't tell anyone about what you saw!" I tell him.

"Fight me!" He says.

"Get him!" Zoey yells. I pick up Zach and walk outside. I make it look like I'm about to throw him into the pool, but then I put him down on his feet. We all continue laughing and head back inside.

So, Zoe and Daniel are going on a date soon!
