Chapter 24 Part 4 - Plan for Capturing the Rat

I sent out a bird shaped golem which I had damaged on purpose and splash it with some blood from my inventory. I filled the golem with a secret message written in dragon language. The content was a scenario I had devised to fool the spy.

The scenario was just to delay the departure of the next wave of the enemy's army. The first scenario was the identity of this message sender. I would have Leo to pretend having the spy he had sent in secret was gravely wounded and this was the information he was able to obtain till his death door was sent through the golem.

The false message is about reinforcement from eastern rebels which was able to crush the knights under the leads of a mysterious lady and decided to destroy the whole army of the kingdom in pretext of revenge for his dead husband.

Given the fact that there were knights we crushed was done with the rebels, they probably won't think this as a coincidence. Furthermore the remnants of the rebels were also got obliterated by us which also could mean that the rebels were moving somewhere else.

I sent out Fianna, who had a wide area sensing skill from her rabbit symbol, as a scout. She was watching the situation of the army. Based on her report, the knights were stopping the continuous attacks to tighten their defense against the incoming pincer attack.

Just from seeing this, I would know that the rat has taken the bait. I waited for two days as I secretly sent few batches of potion to Leo through Rosemaria. Leo ran the next part of the plan by spending the remaining potions the army had before my aid arrived.

I made Leo acted as a desperate leader who aim for victory. I would make him walking out alone to discuss the plan in a plain with an imaginary spy sent to the capital. To make sure the rat followed him, I made him say that he'll tell the detail through telepathy conference later on loudly to Ameralda.

The spy was a fool. When Leo was approaching a large clearing, I had a humanoid golem wrapped in assassin outfit walked toward him. At the same time the spy tried to eavesdrop him, an arrow was shot by Fianna. He who got his leg shot down by unknown attack was trying to take something from his pocket but two arrows were flying and pierced both of his shoulders. A crystal ball fell on the ground as his arms were disabled.

I was informed me about the capture. I approached his location at once with my new party.

"Yo!"

I greeted him casually. Leo who saw me looked delighted. He approached me with steady steps before he sent a punch at my face. I didn't resist or avoid that punch and was sent flying for three meters. I spitted out the blood in my mouth and drank a basic potion from my magic bag.

"That was a hard one. Did you use a killing intent on that one?"

I asked.

"Yeah, otherwise, I can't even make any damage on your skin-shaped dragon scales."

He replied.

"Even so, it was still hard. My fist is still numb."

He added.

"Well, it's a good thing that I didn't bring Alicia with me. I can't let her to see this scene."

I said. I looked at the traitor's face. He was wearing a grunt clothes.

"It seems like we just caught a small fry."

I said.

"Yeah, unfortunately. Got any other plan?"

He asked.

"I have several but the easiest one and safest one is bit too brutal to use."

I said.
