I haven't listened to this guy.

In a while. I haven't because of the way I indulged following April 21st and when I tell you it was not healthy.... girl. So, this year I caught back up on modern music (modern to me is 90's with the exception of certain 2018 artist) because I was pretty out of the loop. I took a dive into Mike's catalogue... we all saw how that went. I've always liked him, always knew his tea too💀, but I wasn't the kind to listen to his unreleased stuff— I'M IN THAT THANG NOW— but, before? Nah. I been listening to a lot of Tupac lately too but, that was because of the 13th and besides... I grew up on Pac. He's mentally my uncle... my fine ass uncle. Anyway, I recently turned on this guy...

And it was one of those songs from the new Piano & A Microphone 1983 album, which basically all of us had on bootleg since forever, and I heard his voice. I hadn't heard his voice in soooooooooooooooooo long. I mean... maybe months. You know, because I had to detox he was practically the only person I listened to for a year and a half, two years. And I heard his voice... My soul was just like,

It's good to know you still have the key to her heart, dude. That's freaking awesome, man.

And I'm sitting here like, Wow.... absence does make the heart grow fonder.

This just happened again right now. Right before I started this. I'm washing the dishes and I heard his voice and... woo.

I still haven't gone all the way back. I'm still detoxing. You know to literally eat, write, play, sleep, and dream Prince for over a year? It's not healthy. Lmao, I just lied. This detox has been good to me and they put all the albums back on Tidal? Expect me to be in tears soon. Honestly. My reset button is about to be pressed sooner than I think and it's no way to prepare. I'm going to be balling and boohooing  all over again too. I always miss him a lot when it's cold outside. That's usually Thanksgiving/Christmas to April... On the plus side, my inspo will be THROUGH THE ROOF.
