IN KARTIK'S ROOM

KARTIK'S POV

The sun rays crept in through the window and fell on my face.  I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Ahana who was snuggled into me and sleeping peacefully.

I smiled and kissed her forehead. I adored her face for a few seconds.

My baby girl is growing.

I remember when Siya was small, she also used to snuggle into me and sleep. She had me wrapped around her little finger. She was my little girl. She still is, but the relationship between us is not the same. I fear, when Ahana grows up, she will also go far from me.

This thought made me nostalgic and I hugged Ahana more tightly.

Always be my little girl.

Just then, my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID. It was Nidhi.

I picked up the call.

"Yeah....Nidhi", I said getting up and leaning against the pillow.

"Honey, the nanny will come to your place in the evening", she said.

"Oh...okay. Thanks", I replied not knowing what to say. I was still unsure about the nanny thing. But I had trust on Nidhi.

" What is meant by 'thanks' babes? Did you forget? You promised me to take me to shopping today", she sounded upset.

Crap!!

I got off the bed and stood up. I covered my face with my hands.

"Kartik....", I heard Nidhi's voice on the phone.

"I am sorry, honey. I forgot. Actually, the situations were.....okay leave it off. I'll be there at 10 sharp. Okay", I replied.

"Okay", she mumbled.

"Kk...bye...love you", I said and ended the call.

I glanced at the wall clock. It was 9:00 am. So, I have one hour to get ready.

I walked towards the washroom and brushed my teeth.

After brushing, I decided to wake up Ahana.

"Princess....wake up. Its nine baby. Daddy has to go out too. Please wake up", I shook her gently to wake her up.

She slowly opened her eyes and got up, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning, daddy", she said still rubbing her eyes.

"Morning, baby", I said picking her up.

"C'mon, let's get you freshen up daddy has to go out too", I said walking towards the washroom.

SIYA'S POV

I descended the stairs to find Sahil and Aatish playing video games.

"Hi bros", I said walking past them and opening the fridge to grab some orange juice.

"Hi sis", they said together completely engrossed in the video game.

"From when did you gain interest in video games, Aatish?", I asked twisting the cap of the bottle of orange juice, and pouring it into a glass.

"Its not like that. Sahil was begging me to give him a company in playing the game and showing his puppy eyes, so I ended up playing  playing with him", he replied.
