twenty three: considering

"hey," you said as you entered the room with everyone sitting in it. you gave reid a quick kiss on his cheek before taking a seat next to him. he handed you a note under the table.

you took it, reading what it said.

'results?'

you bit your lip, looking up at him with a slight nod that was easy to miss if someone didn't pay attention to when you did it.

reid couldn't help but smile, grabbing your hand in his underneath the table as he waited for everyone to come in.

j.j. was last to come in, fanning herself slightly as she took a seat in front of everyone. hotch looked at her with some slight concern.

"you don't have to present it, j.j. unless you're up for it?" he asked. she gave him a sweet smile. "yeah, i can do it."

you and reid kept your hands intertwined together while you listened to everything j.j. was saying about the case but you couldn't focus.

you really couldn't.

"legs up in fifteen minutes," hotch announced as you sat at your desk. you were spinning around lightly in the chair as reid stayed at his desk, finishing up packing some things.

he looked over at j.j. who was sitting in another chair, fanning herself once again as she talked to garcia.

"so," prentiss said, catching reid's attention once again. "considering it?"

"considering what?" he asked her.

he knew what she was asking but he wasn't sure if he wanted to express the good news you both had just learned about.

"having any baby geniuses?"

he chuckled, looking over at you while you talked to morgan. he watched as you laid your hand down on your stomach, smiling once more before answering morgan.

"reid?" she asked.

"well, ___ and i didn't want to say anything yet but-"

"legs up, everyone!"

"so, what was it that you were going to say before we had to leave?" prentiss brought back up on the plane after reading everything that they had.

reid felt your hand slip into his as you tried to bite back a growing smile.

"well," he began, looking over at you. "____ is-"

"i'm pregnant," you said to them.

reid couldn't help but smile, leaning over to press a sweet kiss to your cheek as you hummed out a sound of satisfaction.

"so you considered it!"

reid gave all of his team a smile; a real, genuine smile that he didn't have to force out when working on a crime scene.

"soon, i won't be at work for a while because i'll be having a child but," you said. "don't forget about me, okay?"

j.j. and the team laughed.

"now we can talk about all of this!" she exclaimed. you smiled, nodding your head.

"thank god i have someone to talk to about this," you said. "mr. genius over here is really determined to tell me everything he knows on babies."

he frowned, only causing you to press a soft kiss to his jaw- which was the only part of him that you could reach from where you were sitting.

"don't worry, pretty boy, i still love you."
