seventy six: abduction (part three)

it was the next morning for you and reid separately, reid was off to work and you were coming with him this time to avoid being abducted again. you were going to be with garcia whose office was further back than the rest of the other ones which meant that your ex could not find you there.

you walked into garcia's office as she gratefully took you in with her as reid gave you one more hug before he went off to see the team.

when he got to the b.a.u. room, he took a seat in his chair as he looked at the case file.

it was an abduction.

he immediately shut it and ran a hand through his hair as he tried not to focus too much on it. it wasn't you.

when j.j. walked in, she gave him a confused look.

"what is it, spence?" she asked as she opened the case file to look at it. "oh. right," she muttered. "i'm so sorry we have to do this to you, but it's a serious case."

he nodded. "i'm going to go see ____ for a few minutes. tell hotch where i am."

j.j. nodded. "of course."

he got up and left the room as he went out to garcia's office. when he got to her office, he knocked on the door as she said to come in.

when he walked in, he didn't see you.

"garcia, where's ____?" he asked her. she spun around in her chair.

"i thought you had a case, mr. handsome smart one?" she asked with a confused manner.

at that time you walked back into her office.

"careful, garcia," you muttered as you saw him standing there. you looked up at him with a smile, trying to hide your fear of your ex finding you here.

"reid," you muttered softly to him as he pulled you into a hug. he didn't want to let go of you. not after what had happened to you.

"____, we're on an abduction case and it has me thinking of you," he said softly. your grip tightened on him as you didn't want him to leave.

"if you leave," you told him softly. "no one will be here to protect me."

he shook his head, his grip on your lower back tighter than ever before.

"you'll be okay, i just," he began. "i need to make sure that you're okay before i leave."

you didn't respond to him but kept holding onto him. when he tried to let go of you, your grip tightened on him which only caused him to let out a soft sigh.

"i know," he said. "i know, ____. but you know that i have to work and i know how worried i am about you being here alone."

he slowly got your tight grip off from around him as he looked into your fearful eyes. his hands were holding yours tightly and his thumb was rubbing itself over the top of your hand.

garcia stood up and walked over to where you two were.

"i hate to interrupt this moment but hotch said he needs you, reid," she muttered. he nodded, thanking her as he turned back to you. he gave you a small smile.

"i love you," he said softly. you felt a tear run down your cheek as he let go to wipe it away gently.

"i love you too," you responded. he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before he left garcia's office. you watched him go as he gave you another smile before leaving.

you turned back to the office room and went to take a seat in one of the chairs.

"garcia," you began. "you really need to be careful with what you say about reid," you muttered as you took a seat.

"note taken," she said before sitting down. "you know that i'm never hitting on him."

you nodded, putting your face in your hands and then running them from your hair before looking at her.

"i know, i'm sorry," you muttered.

she shook her head. "it's okay, ____. you were just abducted- of course you'd want to be protective of reid since you see him as your protection. i understand that."

you nodded. "i'm still sorry."

she shook her head, giving you a small smile.

"no need to worry, honey," she said as she turned to help out with the case while you sat back in the chair. you were tired so you decided to take a nap- hopefully without having anymore nightmares.
