"Wake up princess!" Mitch nudged her gently.

Riele slowly opened her eyes and stretched as she closed her yawning mouth, her body feeling extremely sore.

"Morning princess" Mitch spoke in a raspy voice with a warm smile.

"Morn.......ning" she coughed. Her voice sounded hoarse from all the screaming.

"Here this might help" Mitch said handing her a glass of lukewarm water as she accepted it with a small smile, "Thanks"

"You're welcome princess" He leaned in and planted his lips onto hers but observed that she didn't exactly kiss him back.

He pulled back a little in puzzlement, "What's wrong, princess?" his voice held an edge as if he was trying to hold back his anger.

"Nothing" Riele mumbled averting her eyes to the floor as she played with her fingers.

Mitch lifted her chin with two fingers making her look him in the eye, "Hey what's wrong baby?" he asked in a soft voice.

"I....I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean for it to happen. I was just really drunk and I didn't know what I was doing...." she began to tear up.

"Hey, shhh, don't cry baby" Mitch gently dried her tears with his thumb.

"I'm really sorry baby....." she said looking down.

"It's okay, princess and I'm sorry too about last night. I just, I couldn't bear to think that you let someone else touch what's mine" Mitch spoke in a loving voice.

"I get it baby" She nodded.

"I mean, you two only kissed right?" Mitch questioned in a skeptical tone.

"Yes....yes baby, it was just one kiss that's all. Nothing more than that" she assured him.

Mitch smiled satisfied, "Good because you're mine and make sure you don't repeat it again or else...." He gave her a warning look.

"It won't baby I promise" she replied quickly.

He smiled, "Okay, why don't you go take a shower? Breakfast's on the dining table" he informed as he got up to leave.

"You going somewhere, baby?" She inquired curiously.

"Yeah I gotta go meet a friend of mine" he replied vaguely.

"But it's still early?" Riele pointed out.

"Yeah it's a close friend of mine and would you mind locking the door when you leave?" He said putting on his shoes and kissing her forehead.

"mkay" she smiled.

After he left, she sat on the bed for five more minutes before getting up but as soon as she got up, she had to sit back down from the pain. She closed her eyes and blew out before gathering her strength as she limped into the bathroom.

She soaked in the bathtub for about an hour and her pain began to ease a little. She didn't have a choice but to borrow Mitch's sweats and a hoodie because her clothes were torn into rags by him last night.

Her eyes welled up remembering how he treated her last night. For the first-ever time, she was frightened by his behavior. Sure he was angry at her but he could've listened to her, at least given her a chance to explain, she thought.

Riele shook her head pushing away those thoughts as she at the breakfast and when she was about to leave, she remembered about her wedding band.

"Shit!" she cursed under her breath as she began searching for the ring.
