Chapter 14: Falling House of Cards

You open your eye and come to the conclusion that you lost your right eye.

Clem: Y/N, your awake!

Clementine hugs you and you hug back.

Clem: I'm so sorry...

Your voice sounds dry and weak.

You: Don't be, I'm just glad you're okay.

Clem: There's a lot of stuff that happened that you need to know.

You: Duck is bit?

Clem gets out of the hug and looks at you.

Clem: Yeah, how did yo-

You: And Lily shot Carley?

Clem: How do you know this?

You: Long story.

You look up and see every is staring at you.

You: What, is there something on my face?

You say in a sarcastic tone.

Lee then walks inside, he must've come back from the conductor's station or whatever.

Lee: Holy shit...

You run up to Lee and try to hug him but you collapse on the floor half way.

Lee: Shit!

Clem: Y/N!

Lee and Clem both run over to you and crouch next to you.

Lee: Are you okay?

You: I think so.

Clem: What happened?

You: I don't know, I just fell.

Katjaa: There may be some damage to the brain, but you should recover soon.

You: So what does this mean?

Katjaa: Just try not to do anything extreme.

You: I'll try.

Duck then starts coughing up blood.

Katjaa: LEE! Lee. I need you. Right now. I need you to go get Ken.

Lee walks towards Katjaa and Duck and crouches in front of them.

Lee: What's...

Katjaa: Would you get that off of his face? My hands are full here.

Lee picks up a napkin on the floor.

Katjaa: Thank you. Could you just get that off of his face, please?

Lee wipes the dark blood off of Duck's face and looks at it. Lee stands up and Katjaa looks at him.

Katjaa: He's out of time. We need to stop this train.

Lee: Okay.

Katjaa: Please.

Lee walks towards the conductors station.

You talk to Clementine.

You: Nothing good will happen today, I can feel it.

Clem: You woke up, that's the best thing that could've happened.

This makes you smile, she smiles back.

After a few minutes the train comes to a stop and everyone hops off. You see Lee and Kenny walk towards everyone. They stop and have a conversation with Katjaa.

You know what's about to happen, you can't help but feel guilty, like you could've saved his life if you dodged that bullet.

Your thoughts: You let this happen, you piece of shit.

You see Katjaa and Kenny take Duck into the woods.

Clem: What's happening?

Lee turns around to Clementine and gets on one knee.

Lee: I'm gonna take care of Duck.

Clem: I thought he was going to die.

You: He is, Lee's making sure he doesn't come back.

Lee: He's right. Look Clem, things will-

*BAM!*

Lee: What the-

Kenny: NO!

Lee: Ben, take Clementine and Y/N into the train! Go, it'll be fine.

Lee then runs off into the woods, you and Clem get inside the train. Clementine's crying, this breaks your heart so you walk up to her and hug her, she hugs back. The warm sensation is back, but this time it's throughout your whole body. You whisper calmly as she's crying.

You whisper: Shhhh, it's okay. It's okay.

After about a minute, you hear one last gunshot. You close your eyes.

You whisper: I'm here. I'm here.
