Jordan's pov
With just a click of a button, a part of me gets ripped out of my body, a section of my brain that's tucked away for later use. The piercing noise leaves me paralyzed for up to ten minutes, side effects listed are: epilepsy, nausea, vomiting, miscarriages, headaches, migraines, lost of touch, smell, and even sight. Those are just the ones listed. Every time the button is pressed, i freeze, the ear bleeding sound takes over my body leaving me stiff. And i think to myself, why me? Why does it have to be me? What did i do to deserve this life. David couldn't go for a different passion like Area 51 style? Or even major in entrepreneuring?
Once the button is released, the noise goes away. I can't move, i can't speak. I can barley even think. And when it's all over, when i can move again, i cry and i struggle, but my powers don't work. 'It's temporary.' He said. 'It's just numbing' he said. So why does it hurt so badly to even try and use them? The struggle continues, and the only way to bring back my gift is one of the two options. Option one, you turn it off by the remote, aka another button located on the bottom right corner. Not an option. David never leaves the remote unhandled. Even in his sleep, it's tight in his cold grip. Option two, you rip it out manually. And by it i mean the metal chip that's inside me. It's a circular device that comes in a shot, like a flu shot. But it's wired and needs to be assembled from the outside. It's quite simple really, and i'm not sure how David is barley now coming up with these ideas.  Once the shot is in the right place, it connects to the neurons in the side of your brain that connects to all your gifts. Like a core, it cannot be destroyed, unless you want a dead patient then sure. Blast em', but sadly, David doesn't want me dead. Maybe i want me dead, i don't know. I don't know what being dead feels like. But i know it hurts, hurts me and others. And i would hate to be selfish over something as small as a piece of metal. So being dead isn't an option. On the surface of the skin are two wires that connect to the mantle. Or the cover. The cover is simply stamped into your skin to lock in place, and once everything's up and running, you'll need a trigger. A trigger can be anything from a smell to a touch to a noise. Something that connects to one of your five senses. That's why the ringing paralyzes me, it's a trigger now. The wiring can be taken out by surgery, or by ripping it out with your bare hands. Of course the chemicals and wiring can give you up to third degree burns it is not recommended if you enjoy having fingertips. So ripping it out isn't an option.
I wasn't even supposed to get my chip til' a month before i went out in public again. Until my 'special mission'. I said i didn't hear anyting, and i fucking begged. I begged for a piece of wiring and metal to not be injected into me. God i'm an idiot sometimes. They did however, hesitate slightly, but that didn't help at all. Within just five minutes with it first in, i erupted in power. I tried to get away, i ran and i flung people across the halls, trying to escape for what's to come. I go up to punch a guy, just over a few inches taller than me. But right when my fist was about to connect to his jaw, the sharp ring filled my senses, i dropped to the floor. No support with my nerves twitching. But the noise didn't stop there, it kept going for a long, long time.
I'm dragged away by my arm across the rough floor, i pray that my sight sensitivity is temporary, and that it wouldn't effect me in the future. I'm lead into an unfamiliar room, with a small fragile desk and two chairs on opposite sides. I'm lifted and thrown into one of the chairs. I can feel my own pulse going at a fast speed, and my fingertips twitched when i tried to move. "Ready to cooperate?" David leaned back in his chair and fidgeted with the small remote in his hands like a toy. I didn't answer, mostly because it was physically impossible for me to. I tried to move my hands, they were slowly becoming easier to move, but still painful. "Move her hands up," he mumbled looking behind me. My hands where brought up to the arms of the chair and dropped down, sending zings through my body. David brings out a pen and starts clicking it on a table. "Two clicks," he clicked and unclicked the pen. "No, one click, yes." I glared to the side in annoyance, talking to me like an idiot which i definitely am not. I probably have a higher IQ knowledge than him. When was the last time he read a book. "You ready to cooperate?" He repeated himself looking at me and to my hand. Slowly, i picked it up and dropped it so it was facing palm up. I looked at him before curling down all my fingers as best i could but one. I flip him off slowly, and watch his anger grow as a smile curved my lips. My flexibility was coming back pretty fast, i was stretching my face from side to side. "Brat," he snapped, throwing himself up. "Pinhead," i said back in a smile. He snapped back facing me "bitch," he smiled. "How original, next time, come up with something unique. Just like when you bring everyone joy, when you walk out of a room. I laugh, i couldn't help myself. He laughs too, but his laughter turns into anger. He stands up and walks towards me, i try to stand but my legs won't move, i can't defend myself. He pulls out a pocket knife, whipping it out like it's his prized possession, and slashes my left arm. I groan in pain, just before a hell of a lot of pressure is applied. I cry out, the burning of my skin makes me jolt up quickly. I yank my arm away, my muscles coming back to normal. "I'm going to the nurse," i mumbled before holding my arm in my grasp and stumble away. Just as i reach the door it opens for me, the leech walking in as i walk out. "Oh look, the princess is back from her vacation." I shove past her and hop down the stairs past the cafeteria, straight to Mary. Once i open the door i close it behind me, exhaling and keeping my eyes on the ground. She doesn't speak, was she mad at me? "Mary before you say anything i want to exp-" i look up in shock and see a guard right behind the poor woman, his gun shoved in her gut ready at the trigger. "Take another step and she's gone Sky's." The man speaks. I look over at Mary and see her trembling. "Oh come on man, leave her alone." I ask, my eyes filling with tears. "Ma'am i only take orders, i was told if i found anything connecting the two of you to eliminate the problem." He keeps his eyes locked on me, he wasn't lying. But who was the order from? David was with me the whole time- the leech. Motherfucker can't just stop messing things up. "Well is there a problem, sir?" I snap back, dropping my arms to my side as my blood drips down my arm. He keeps his weapon glued to Mary, as he turns over to grab a small lanyard. Linked to the end is an ID holder filled with random things, the cover is a navy blue with a label 'J' on it. He tosses it to me before straightening up. "What the fuck is this?" I as the guard but my gaze is glued onto Mary. What did she know that i was supposed to? "I was going to tell you earlier," she stuttered as tears poured out of her face. "I wasn't sure if it had anything to include you on it but i called in guard 177." The guard spoke and i rolled my eyes. "You were told to eliminate the problem, to me it doesn't look like there is one just yet." He nods and once he's about to remove the gun the door bursts open. He jolts back to his position before, and accidentally pulls the trigger. I couldn't teleport, so i run, the loud gun echoing through my ears. I couldn't stop the bullet, i was too late. I turn the guards wrist backwards, making him instinctively drop the gun to the floor. Mary falls to the floor, and i'm there to catch her. My anger pours through me, i'm screaming and yelling. Telling the now two guards in here to go get help repeatedly until they leave. I close my hand over the bullet wound, she wasn't going to make it. She couldn't. Her fragile little body can't handle an impact like this and survive. I try to keep my calm as i lean Mary up against the filing cabinets, stroking her short grey hair out of her face. "Hey it's okay, i'm right here okay." My voice cracks and my face is dripping of tears. She looks at me with worry. She grips my free hand and presses it to her face, and we look at each other. I've grown to really love this woman like a relative. "Please don't leave me, not now, you have people to go home to." I sob into her hand slowly. She shakes her head the slightest and smiles. "I'm old anyway, it's okay dear." Her heartbeat starts to rapid, i know she's coming to an end. "I'm so sorry, i wasn't fast enough, i could've-" She shakes her head, cutting me off as she holds me while i cry. "If it's my time to go, so be it. And J," I looked back up her curiously. "Stay pure." She whispers. Her heartbeat comes to a stop, her grip loosening, and nurses flood the room one by one. I don't struggle this time. I'm frozen in shock, my right hand bloody and my left hand holding tightly on the lanyard.
