Chapter Ninety-Weirdo

Jordan's pov
"Okay, we can officially start our meeting now." Kevin said, a huge smile on his face. "Dude we agreed before nine." Sam said, slumping on the couch. We have been waiting on Kevin, Reggie, and Cassie for the past hour and a half, i almost fell asleep like twice. "Yeah, it's 8:50" Cassie said, grabbing a drink. "She's got a point Sam." Kat said beside her. "Whatever can we start now? I wanna beat some ass." Mike sounded too excited to get this over with. My chest tightened when i thought about the time Mary was killed. Poor woman with a family that she never got to see again. I should've pushed her away when i had the chance. My eyes darted to Jakes, i could feel the pressure of him trying to get inside my mind, but i never let my guard down. He ripped his eyes away from mine, the tension in my temples releasing. Sam pulled out a map, blue prints of the lab from every exit to every room. "So when we entered, there some sort of barbed wire around the fence, but it was different. Static almost." Sam said, making an arrow to the fence. "It's an electromagnetic wave spectrum that goes off of energy. When it's turned on, which is almost always, it creates a dome around the place that's almost impossible to get in." I explained, leaning forward in my seat. Sam looked at me, in shock just like everyone else. "What is there something on my face?" I asked looking around. "Do you just want to explain the place then? I mean you did live there." Sam held the marker out to me, leaving me to choose. "Sure." I shrugged, levitating the marker to me. "Show off." Aryia whispered behind me. I smiled, shaking my head as i sat on my knees, looking around the map. "Cafeteria is where there's most likely to have the most guards on duty, they usually stay hidden, so he cautious of corners." I made small stars on each indent of the cafeteria, letting my gaze wonder to Mary's old office. They left it alone, empty without any extra hands. I made a big X on that room before looking up to everyone. "No one goes through there, at all." "Why?" Sirena asked after a second. "Just don't okay?" I smiled sarcastically, slightly rolling my eyes as my gaze went back to the paper. "Sorry i didn't mean to yell. Someone important to me died there, what matters now that it's empty." I said, popping the cap. "This hallway isn't the same anymore, it used to be a one way, but they added one down the middle. I've actually got shot there before." I snickered, drawing another line leading to the cafeteria. "You got shot?" Reggie asked in shock. "Yeah, right here." I pointed to my leg, the pants covering my scarred skin. "That's badass what did you do?" Kevin asked, laughing. "I killed a lot of people." I said shaking my head. I found David's office, and circled over it. "Office, this connects to his room and bathroom. He keeps his files here, separate from online documents, and behind his bookshelf he has weaponry." I dragged the marker so it covered his whole little area. "Where does he keep his online things then?" Colby asked. I looked down the map, counting rooms left and right until i found the correct one. "Computer lab, one of the biggest rooms in the place." I circled it, letting my gaze wonder throughout the map. "Training room." I circled. I made X's on each restroom and storage closet, they seemed pretty useless. "My rooms right here." I made a small happy face there, it not being too far from David's. "I'm surprised you didn't get a bigger room." Sam said. "Yeah he didn't really care about that stuff." I chuckled, looking around the map. "This is the place they do testing on, any surgery's or serums and stuff is all here." I said, labeling the room. By then, i had basically covered all the place besides a few hallways. "What's in here?" Kat pointed to two big room, sizes of master bedrooms. I had completely forgotten about that. Considering they never left their rooms. "These are the other test subjects, number 174 and number 258." I explained, my eyes widening. "Other subjects? I thought it was just you." Tara asked sitting up in her seat. "It was, until just the day before i left, they got brought in for help, shelter. They didn't know what they were getting into, considering they don't even speak english. I've seen them once, i know a lot about them, but i never got a good description." I explained shaking my head. "What can they do?" Colby asked. "One of them, is like me." I held my hand out, grabbing the water bottle that leaned against the wall behind Reggie. "Telekinesis?" Sam asked looking down at me. "Not exactly. He can move things with his mind, but only- only metal." "So he can control magnetic fields?" Reggie asked as everyone's eyes widened. "More like channel and manipulate but yes." I heard Jake sigh, covering his mouth with his hand. "And the other one?" Sam pointed to the other cell curiously. "Her? She's fast, like really fucking fast." I shook my head. "Oh so then i can take her." Mike insisted, his ego showing through. "I don't think that's what she means by fast Mike." Griffin said, wrapping his arm around Xepher who looked worried by the second. "He's right, fast yes as in speed, but not only speed. She can also teleport." "Does that mean she can like walk on walls or something?" Griffin asked, i smiled at him. Someone did their homework. "Yeah she can, not for longer than ten seconds though." I said, before handing Sam back his marker and sitting back next to Aryia, who's arm instinctively fell over my shoulder. "So who's going to take what?" Jake asked, pulling out his phone. "I call dibs on not taking on thing one or thing two." Kevin stood up from his spot, and skipped his way to the kitchen. "I'm with him man, i mean i'm pretty useless here." Corey chuckled, leaving the couch area. "You aren't unless babe!" Jake yelled over his shoulder. "Well that's two." He mumbled. We all stood silent, thinking of who should take the two. "I can do it." I spoke up, leaning a bit forward in my seat. "What? No way." Colby defended. "Jordan you just got out of the hospital." Jake said, agreeing with Colby. "I see no one else volunteering, and either way, i could just take one." I suggested, looking around. "Absolutely not i'm covering for you then." Colby said, not meeting my gaze. "You're cool with that Colby?" Jake asked him, looking up from his phone. "Positive." Jake nodded, typing at his phone. "If Colbys doing it i am." Sam spoke up, tightening his grip around Kat. "So Colby takes one and Sam takes the other?" Jake asked nervously. They nodded, agreeing to the assignment. "Are you guys sure you're up for this? Anything could go wrong." Tara said, squinting her eyes. "We can handle it." Colby said confidently. They absolutely without a doubt could not do it. They'll get mauled out there. "So what am i not going at all?" I asked Jake, my voice rising. "If that's what's best then no, you aren't." My stomach tightened, was this what it felt like to be benched? Helpless? "Reggie and i will get any info from the computers." Cassie said, looking at Jake. "Cool who's going in cafeteria?" Jake asked, looking around. No one spoke up. "Seriously?" I asked looking around. "You wanna assign places then?" Jake asked holding his phone out. I nodded, taking it from him before scanning over his notes. "Just don't change anything we already have." Well there goes that idea. I looked around, typing here and there until i was finished with everyone's names. "Just read off what you got when you're done." Sam said. I nodded, before going over my list again. "Okay so everyone starts in the cafeteria before breaking up since there's going to be the most people there. Sam and Colby have the two, Reggie and Cassie same as before. Sirena you have power, so cut off the field and the lights before they enter. Then after Sirena and Corey will take out anyone scouting around the perimeter, night guards or anything trying to get the power back up." I looked up, everyone agreeing with me. "Jake and Aryia you take the left hall since there's more entrances. Kat and Devyn make sure all the nurses are out and safe, even if it means locking them in their offices we can't have them get hurt." "How come?" Kat asked. "Because they're harmless, they just do it for the money we can take them in after. Now Tara and Mike will take training rooms, Brennen and Kevin will take right hall then take that exit to meet Corey and Sirena. Lastly Xepher and Griffin will take David's office." I looked up at everyone, before handing Jakes phone back to him. "Now any objections?" I asked, looking around. "No actually that's really good i don't think we've had that good of a setup." Sam said looking around who agreed. "As long as i'm not near those two i'm fine." Corey laughed. "Thank you and you're welcome." I smiled, leaning back in my seat. "So David, what does he even want?" Brennen asked, who was sitting next to Colby. I gulped, biting my lip before answering. "A cure." I said, softly. "What?" Tara asked. "He wants to fix us?" Brennen asked in fear. "Yeah he does, and even after he took me back, it wasn't going to stop him from coming for you guys, or anyone else. We're all a target." I said looking around. Some of them looked terrified, others confused. "Then we'll kill him." Jake suggested. "Killing him now will only lead to caos. Even if we could we would have to wait until he's out of the hospital." "So there's nothing we could do now?" Colby asked. "We could burn his stuff then go after him, i'm not too sure about Emily though." Everyone nodded looking at each other. "I knew there was something odd about Emily." Kat said, crossing her arms. "Yeah she's kinda crazy." I added making the room full with laughter. "Okay can we actually do some fun stuff now though, this work talk tires me." Tara exclaimed, throwing her hair back. "Sam what kind of game should we play." Kat asked as we all turned to Sam. "Uhh how about a round of hide and go seek?" He shrugged, everyone cheering with laughter as Sam rushed to get his camera. "This is so going to be my next video." He chuckled setting everything up. "That would be a sick series." Colby added with a smile. "Okay everyone ready?" He asked, popping his camera as we nodded. Soon he was doing his intro, and i leaning closer to Aryia, whispering. "What the hell is hide and go seek?" He chuckled at me, his arm still over me. "He'll go over it." I nodded turning my attention to Sam again. "And here we have the crew we have Corey Sheer Curtain, Dad, Katrina, Micheals Dead, Tara Yummy, Webber number one, Xepher Wolf, Xephers Boyfriend, Webber number two, Cassie, Sirena, Badboywolfy, Jordan the Jet, Devy, Bolby Crock, and Brennen." Sam said this all on the top of his head, butchering our names or saying our nicknames. He finished his intro, then pointed the camera at me. "This girl over here has never played hide and go seek in her life, what a weirdo." He joked. "Hey!" I yelled. "I'm joking but she is adopted and her dad never let her even leave the house so that says a lot." He shrugged before explaining the game to me. "You got it now?" He asked, looking over his camera. "Probably." I said as we all laughed. "Okay then, on with the game."
