Jordan's pov
"God! How is it always my fault? Can someone else just take the blame for once!? I'm tired of always apologizing my whole life, and not even getting anything back from it but another fucking argument. Sorry i shouldn't have cursed." I exhaled sharply, punching a hole in a bulky tree next to me, leaving a burn mark of my fist there. "Calm down Nicolas Cage, i get that you're mad, but you can't just keep blowing things up." I sighed, sitting down on the curb of the street, Elliot following afterwards. He knew i was pissed off when he tried to get in my head, but he's probably the only one i let in. I always felt a strong connection with this kid. "I know, i'm just pissed off you know." I said, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Yeah without a doubt i get you, why don't we do something to get your mind off of it." He suggested, while pointing to the gas station across the street. We exchanged looks, before slowly letting our bodies turn transparent, not visible to the human eye. We walked out just seconds later, turning the corner quickly before snapping back into vision. "That was sick," he laughed, pulling out one (of the many) chip bags we may or may not have stolen. Who would've known a child and an adult that's never seen a butterfly wouldn't have any money on them, but still have the same exact thoughts without having to discuss it. "This was nice, you really cooled me down El, thanks." I said, nudging him a little with a smile. "Hey, you called, i answered." We laughed, chilling there for a moment. "Ugh i think i have to get going, the gangs probably wondering where i'm at and i have houses to look at in a few." I sighed, before standing from my spot and pulling Elliot up to his feet. "This was fun, but really, you gotta visit sometime. I'm getting so bored of the kids my age there, you have an inter- interesting life." He said, as we walked down the street back to the big building i got him from. It was quite simple really, they didn't even care what we did when we asked to see someone from there. "I guess you could say that, next time i go on a mission i'll be sure to tell you about it. Which will probably be today or tomorrow." I said, stopping in front of the building. "You better, i'll creep into your mind if you don't." I laughed at him, shaking my head. "You better not! Little spy." I said, punching his shoulder lightly. "Okay well i'll see you, go deal with your adult problems." "Oka-" I'm cut off by a hug, Elliots small arms wrapping around my waist, catching me by surprise. I loosened up a bit, getting comfortable in the hug with the small human. Why was this making me so emotional? He pulled away, his own eyes slightly watery. "Byeee!" He yelled, taking his food in with him to the building. I waved, and watched him walk through quickly, navigate his own way through the halls, slipping past workers that were twice his size, but didn't bother asking were he was going. I looked around me, noticing no cars were coming either way before teleporting to the place Spirit told us to meet. Some address near some neighborhoods. I slipped my empty slushee cup in a trash can, popping my bag of chips open, wow, spicy naco doritos were definitely worth the hype they got. Walking up to some guy on his phone, i got his attention quickly, his eyes darting to mine. "Hey, do you know the time?" I asked, popping another chip in my mouth. I felt his eyes trail my body, making me uncomfortable by the second. Maybe i should've just went inside a store. He tried to grab my hand, his leaning down to mine before slowly going around my waist. "Yeah i can tell you the time," he said, pulling my body away from the crowd. I rolled my eyes, yanking his arm away from my body before smashing my heel into the toe of his sneakers. He groaned, cursing out before locking eyes with mine again. "Oops?" I bolted, running down the sidewalk, my chips still in hand. I wasn't running as fast as first, making him catch up quickly and tug on the hoodie of my jacket. I choked slightly, the zipper stabbing into my neck, stopping in my tracks before throwing myself into a back flip, kicking him in the process. I landed on one knee, forgetting about my chips at this point and sprinted away. He kept going after me, as i dodged people in crowds, jumping over small tables and bike hoops quickly. My legs went faster, kicking into some sort of turbo. I knew i didn't have any sort of super speed because if i did i would be half way across town by now. People yelped and hollered when i passed, yelling again soon after i passed, making me know he was still trailing me. God this guy must be fast. I looked up, seeing the walking sign on the stoplight blink, letting me know i had ten seconds to cross the street before the cars would go. I ran faster, being about ten feet away from it. There was no way i would make it, and i didn't. The sign held a huge hand, telling me to stop, but i was still getting followed, so i went for it. I ran right in the middle of traffic, sliding over a few cars that honked and yelled from their windows. I couldnt stop if i wanted to, i was too scared to slow down. Thinking i saw Colbys car with Sam in the drivers, i kept going, fear completely taking over me. I heard more honking behind me, letting me know that guy was still trailing my ass, making me run even faster, if it was possible. The red corolla i saw turned quickly into the street i was going, braking quickly were i was. I held my fists up quickly, ready at the touch before Sams familiar face opened the window. "Get in!" He yelled as he unlocked the door for me. I stopped before getting in, staring down the guy who was about two meters from me. I made him trip over his own feet, a small move that wasn't noticeable, but slowed him down. He rolled, before springing back up, that's when i jumped in the car, Sam speeding away before i could close it all the way. "WHO THE HELL WAS THAT?" Corey screamed in terror, as Sam sped up, turning corners quickly. Colby looked at me in fear, reaching out from the passenger seat but i backed away, leaning back in the seat, breathing hard. Jake didn't say anything, seeing the fear in me and probably reading my mind, he handed me his water, that i didn't hesitate to take from him, gulping it. "You hurt?" Sam asked, looking at me from the mirror. I grazed my hand over my neck , feeling the slight tender skin under it, and shaking my head. "I'm okay," i said, laying my head against the window, out of energy. I honestly didn't know what i would do if they weren't here coincidentally, probably dead, or taken if anything. I would probably just kill them, but i was still shaking from what just happened. We pulled up to a big house, huge actually, and right when we parked i opened the door, swinging my legs over and clamping my hand over my mouth, stopping my cries. Sam started talking to Colby, and i heard some movement, but i couldn't function enough to listen. This was one of those autopilot times, where i was just in my own head, scared and terrified for my life when i knew i was just fine now. "Hey, hey you're okay, okay? We got you." I looked up at Corey, who i didn't even notice had his hands on my shoulders, trying to calm me down. Jake walked up, giving me another drink of his water before looking down at my neck. He looked over at Corey, and he backed away slightly, making room for Jake. "Hey i'm going to look at your neck okay? Make sure nothings bruised?" I nodded slightly, unable to make any sort of noise for some reason. Jake lifted my chin up, looking at my sore neck before his hand started pressing lighting on the edge, not where i was hurt. "Tell me where it hurts okay?" I nodded as he went on, lightly touching my neck until he got to a weak spot, making me whimper slightly. He went to the other side, not touching anywhere, just looking closely. "I think you just bruised it, shouldn't be too bad. Try not to talk too loudly okay?" I nodded, sniffing before wrapping my hand around my neck, not even applying pressure, just holding it, like i was scared i was going to get yanked from behind again. The guy barley even touched me, and i still felt vulnerable, weak to the touch. This man was really determined to get me, and i just wanted the t- my own thoughts were cut off, my sobs coming through slowly. "It's okay, i know." Jake whispered, wrapping me into a hug. I cried into him, unable to hold it back anymore. I felt so... violated, gross, invaded. "Wanna tell us what happened?" Corey asked softly from the side, rubbing my shoulder. "I was walking down the street." I whispered, before took a deep breath, wiping my tears away to even speak for myself. "And i needed the time, so i asked this guy on his phone, he didn't look suspicious or anything. But when i asked he started giving me these weird looks until he-" i held my hand over my mouth, shaking my head. "What'd he do Jordan?" Sam asked, slightly more stern, earning looks from Jake and Corey. "He grabbed me by my waist, but i guess i got him mad by fighting back because when he tried reaching back to me i ran, i don't know how far, just until you guys picked me up. But before you did he caught up to me and yanked me, by my hoodie. It stung, like a hot needle going into your skin, but i couldn't stop. So i still fought back, and i ran until you guys found me." I breathed, my watery gaze going around the groups who looked in shock, and in fear for me. "I'll kill him," Colby said, trying to push past Sam who whispered something to him, making him stop suddenly. "How bad does it hurt, ten being excruciating hell, one being a puppy biting you." Jake said, making me turn my attention away from Sam and Colby. I didn't answer at first thinking of how much actual pain i've been in before. "Four, physically, an eight mentally." I answered quietly, grabbing Sam and Colbys attention again. They all looked at me sadly, but i couldn't bring myself to hate them for it, i was hurting, a different kind of hurt. "You're strong Jordan, you know that?" Sam said, crouching down to my level. "You handled an asshole all by yourself, you're incredibly strong for it." I nodded, tears falling from my face without my permission. "Thank you, for being there." I whispered, looking between everyone. "J-" Colby was cut off by Jakes look, as he shook his head at him harshly. I kept my gaze forward, not wanting to protest against Jake, "don't thank us, we got you. always." He answered, glaring at Colby. I didn't Colby to talk to me. I honestly just wanted to curl up in a ball and sit in silence, in this moment i felt truly empty. "Ah! I'm so glad you guys made it!!" We heard from a distance.
