Jordan's pov
The door opens, and i turn over to see a nurse that walked in my room, with a disappointed look on her face. "Oh dear, you know you shouldn't be out of bed you need to rest." She says softly as she sets her clipboard down and takes my hand. She had richer skin than me, i was absolutely jealous of how she looked, she was really pretty. I might have one of those girl crushes, not like romantically, but more of like i wanna be you type of way. "Sorry i was just itching to get out of bed." I mumble as i lay back down and watch her carefully place the needle in my arm. "It's fine, just don't do it again and i won't tell anyone." She winks at me, me smiling in return. I take a second to look at her badge that dangled from her neck. A.P.P Certified Nurse. Mrs. Nicoles. Was i not at an ordinary hospital? "Mrs. Nicoles, where exactly am i?" I ask looking up to her. She looks down at me and walks over to get her clipboard back before answering. "You are in The American Protection Program official ER located in Los Angeles, California." She informs me as she takes notes on how i'm doing. "Can you be honest with me?" I ask making eye contact. She nods, urging me to go on. "How bad am i?" I wasn't in as much pain as i thought i should be, but my bones hurt so bad, i knew i had more than just something wrong with my arm. She sighs and starts to type on the small computer that was unfortunately faced away from me. "You have a shattered humeral head, from the bullet that was really lodged into you. You also have two fractured fingers on your left arm from the hit you took along with degreed burns." She paused, looking through her information that she had about me. "You also have two fractured ribs on your right side and a mild concussion." I laid my head back, sighing before sitting back up and shrugging. "I mean, it could be worse right?" I asked, i mostly wanted a yes answer, just to make myself feel better. But i didn't, she just smiled and nodded, i guess that was a yes? I wasn't so sure. "You're a really strong girl Jordan, someone your size isn't meant to be able to hold all that damage and still fully function." She chuckled looking at me. "I was sorta made for this stuff so it's not a surprise to me." I laughed out, only half joking. "Now can you be honest with me for a second?" She asked, this time she looked genuinely concerned, looking nothing like she actually wanted something out of me to use against me. I nodded, my trust growing for her. "What happened?" Her question shot through me, burning my chest. If i answered, i could possibly get sent to a prison, paying for my crimes. But if i didn't, that would look way worse. I look up, exhaling softly. "When i answer, don't freak out. Let me tell you everything."Colbys pov
"Thank you." I look up at the petite nurse, i wasn't flirting, but she might've taken it that way. She smiled innocently before standing up and walking over to Brennen and finishing stitches on the side of his head. "What happened?" She asked, patting dry Brennen's face. "Erm, well we where in this fight..." Brennen trailed off looking at me with wide eyes. I shrugged trying to find out what to tell her. "Oh?" She asked in a smile, if only she knew that the fight was with a 5'0" girl that basically fought with one hand tied behind her. "Yeah, these two really put up a fight at the bar." I heard Sam behind me chuckle, patting my shoulder sarcastically, although only Brennen and i knew it was in a sarcastic way, we just smiled and nodded in agreement. Another nurse walked in, peering around the room for a second. "Jordan Sky's and Emily Write?" I stand up along with Sam, Brennen, Aryia, Cassie, Kat, and Jake. The rest where at the house cooling off or had something to do in the morning, we came for support, and to figure stuff out. The nurses eyes widen and the previous girl walks past her "did you know they got into a fight at a bar?" She asks her, the nurse cocks an eyebrow, before nodding slowly but locking eyes with me. "Yeah Sky's told me." I saw her slowly shake her head at me, making my anxiety skyrocket. "Only two per room please." She says snapping out of her conversation. "Me and Sam can go to Emily's room and have a talk." Jake said before walking with Sam not too reassuring, but i didn't really care. I had one girl on my mind tonight. Cassie looked at me, before making eye contact with Aryia then Kat, then Brennen. "You can go in first, we don't mind waiting." She said, a small smile plastered on her face. "Are you sure? They said two per room." I ask just to be sure, i didn't want to use up all the visiting hours just because i was selfish. She shook her head, looking around as everyone gave me a sincere look. "Go ahead Colby," Brennen said smiling like a child. I nodded, thanking them before following the nurse down the hall, the door shutting behind us as i walked through. "So you're the special boy she talked about." The nurse smirked at me slightly. "What?" I chuckled out, my cheeks flushing slightly. "I know you weren't at a bar Colby, she told me everything." I was in shock, everything everything? "What do you mean by that?" I asked walking the same pace as her, i could tell she felt wrong for snitching J out. "Like from the beginning, to now." She said shortly before stopping to look at me. "I know who she is." She said sternly, she didn't look scared, just really expert. "So she told you like every secret she's ever had?" I asked only half joking around but in a chuckle. She shook her head, continuing to walk down the hall as i struggled to keep up. "She never went into detail, just how she ended up here. But no, she's very... uncommunicative when it comes to that stuff." She said with a slight concern in her voice. We turn the hall, the lights dimmer here, i'm guessing because some of the patients didn't have their blinds down. "Welcome to the club." I said as she stopped by a door, opening it slowly. "I'm sure she'll tell you stuff you need to know." She smiled sweetly, me returning the gesture and holding my hand out before she opened the door all the way. She shook it awkwardly, looking at me like i was an alien. "Thank you..." i trailed off, hoping she would say her name so i didn't have to ask. "Nicoles." She answers opening the door smiley. I walk in slowly, seeing the girl that owns my heart flutter her eyes open slowly. "Yoooo Nicoles guess what just happened, so i went to stand up and i literally almost busted my ass. Well i did, but don't get mad, i only got up to get water." I smile to myself, she hasn't looked up yet, so i walk over and grab the cup of water across the room where i'm guessing she went to get it from. She freezes, still not looking up but taking in her surroundings. "Cole Robert Brock what are you doing here and why aren't you talking." She said pointing in my direction. I chuckled and walk over to the seat closest to her, sitting down and setting her water on the little stand she had. "How did you know it was me?" I asked, folding my arms on her stand, and laying my head down. She turned to me, her arm tugging her back that she ignored. Her eyes where still the same deep brown i loved, sometimes i struggled to even see her pupils. But i noticed her under eyes darker than before, was she not getting enough sleep? "To be fair, i didn't know it was you at first." She pointed out, her eyes looked sad. Like a forced happy she was in, i would have to bring that up later. "What did the nurse want?" I ask trying to make conversation, but stalling at the talk i knew was coming. She smiled, chuckling slightly, "to know my deepest darkest secrets." She over exaggerated, her eyes going wide. I laughed, shrugging at her. "Wel i guess she'll have to wait in line then." She laughed, her smile quickly fading away. "What's wrong?" I asked her, holding her gaze in mine. She turned away, shaking her head shortly. "Nothings wrong besides the fact that i have a concussion, a shattered humeral head, broken ribs, fractured fingers, and i'm cooked like a rib on my arm. But other than that i'm good." I shake my head at her, she knew i wasn't asking about that right now, she was just avoiding the question, but we both knew it was coming. "You know that's not what i mean J." I say softly, i hesitate to take her hand in mine, but i take the chance and go for it. She looks at me as i do, her gripping my hand slightly. "Don't do that," she begged, her voice cracking slightly as tears formed over her eyes. "No, no, why are you crying?" I ask, my own mind breaking down slowly. She looked away from me for a second before locking eyes again. "I can't act like everything's okay, you hurt me Colby, you broke my heart." My face fell, and my chest started to hurt, i broke this perfect girls heart. I don't know why it just hit me that i did, i kissed a girl so long ago that i never got to process that this isn't about me. It's about what i did to her. "It's not what it seems J," i was crying now, my voice cracking and tears falling from my face. She looked away from me, but still held her hand in mine, as she blinked away her sadness. "But you did it, right?" She asked, still not looking at me but the bright lights above her. I let go of her hand, wiping my tears away and staring at her. She looked back at me, her eyes bloodshot, without a doubt mine where too. "Yes, i cheated on you Jordan." She exhaled sharply, looking away from me and blinking her tears away. Any that fell, she immediately wiped from her face. She didn't want show that she was sad, but i knew i shattered this girls fragile heart in my hands. After her giving it to me. "Okay." Her voice turned cold, emotionless to my ears. "Can i please just explain how it happened?" I begged her with everything i had in me, i knew she wouldn't let me, but it was worth a shot. She shook her head softly, turning to me. "I don't want to talk about it anymore." There was something in her this time that was different than what i had seen in a while, it was a familiar yet foreign feeling i was getting from her. Like she was closing up on me again. She swallowed hard, her eyes examining my face before looking away. "I still care about you, Colby. I always will, i just- i just can't right now." Her words shot through my chest like blades, cutting my heart open. This was my fault though, and i would have to live with it. "Its okay J, i understand completely. Just know i'll never give up on you. And i'm so, so sorry." I stood up, leaning over and kissing her cheek softly, i knew i wouldn't get to do this in a long time, so i savored it. She smiled slightly at me as i walked out the door, leaving the girl i loved sitting there in pain, emotionally and physically.
