chapter forty-nine

birds chirped, cold breeze and warm duvets covered both of their naked bodies. still wrapped up with each other, eyes closed in content with the feeling of their skins touching one another.

"good morning darling" he greeted, kissing the side of her head.

"good morning" she murmured, still nuzzled on his neck with legs entangled.

silence engulfed them while their minds drifted. it was an another day for them, a time for reality to set in once again. her father invited carlisle and jasper to have lunch with them and they should be there in an hour.

she lightly tapped jasper's chest before slowly going up.

"hey" he called out, arms reaching out to her, "where are you going?"

"getting dressed?" she answered to him.

jasper couldn't help but stare at her, the morning light shining through his window and reflecting to madelline's skin giving it a gentle glow. her chestnut brown hair looking more radiant than ever, maintaining its natural wavy look. lips, swollen from their recent activity, looked more redder than usual. he couldn't help but asked what did he do in his past life to have such an exquisite lady right now in front of him.

"you're staring" she informed him, running a hand through his blonde locks.

"i'm gazing darling" he corrected her with a smirk, tracing her runes on her skin loving every bits of it. and maybe, turning him on along the process but he wouldn't admit that to madelline.

"creepy" she teased making jasper pull her in a deep kiss.

"i love you" jasper whispered, their foreheads leaning in to each other as they looked at their intertwined hands.

"i love you" she answered back with such love and adoration in her voice.

suddenly, a knock took them out of their trance making them look up and towards the direction of the door. it swung open revealing a smirking emmett and rosalie.

"break a lot of stuff aye?" he teased seeing their appearance.

madelline only chuckled and rolled her eyes, smoothly covering their body parts with the duvet and laid down again at jasper's arm.

"what can we do for the both of you?" jasper asked, his eyes leaving madelline's for a second to look at his siblings.

"your father called us to remind the both of you to get ready" rosalie informed them.

"carlisle also said to call you" emmett followed.

"okay, understood now shoo" jasper said, shooing them away with his hands.

"get dressed already" emmett said with a chuckle and closed the door behind them after leaving.

madelline looked back to jasper and stared at his facial features but suddenly noticed a glowing mark by his chest. her eyes immediately glowed in happiness and excitement as she realized what it was.

"jazz!" she exclaimed as she traced it with her fingers and looked down by hers and removed the duvet covering her chest revealing the same mark jasper has.

"wow" he mutters, eyes widened and fingers lightly tracing the rune engraved on her chest for eternity.

a love rune, shared by the two when they bonded. they sighed in bliss before realizing what time it was and stood up.

"shower?" madelline asked to which jasper nodded instantly and grabbed her before speeding towards their bathroom.
