chapter 73: boys

A whole week passed.

In that week, Chungha and Hyejin wrapped up investigations on the bullying scandal they were in charge of covering. Hoseok and Jisoo kept looking into the construction accident case, with not much progress. Jungkook and Jieun were on good terms, and even though Jieun still had worries in her heart, she tried not to let them affect her from enjoying her time with Jungkook too much. Seokjin and Byulyi hadn't quarrelled in days - an extreme feat for the usually non-stop bickering pair. Jennie and Yoongi were on amicable terms - Jennie tried her best not to show her liking for him too much, in fears of scaring him away.

All was well.

Then came Friday - the day that filming for Love House was scheduled to begin.

It was a warm sunny morning with excellent weather. Jennie left her house early in the morning with Jimin's accompaniment... and they were instantly flocked with reporters from all directions who had camped in front of her apartment all night.

Jimin tried to push them away, but there was way too many of them for them to handle. "Okay, just five questions! After that we have to leave! Everyone, please stop pushing!"

"Jennie-ssi! Do you have any comments about the recent scandal between you and your co-actresses Joy-ssi and Yeri-ssi? What's your relationship with them like? Did they really bully you while you were filming for 'Cinderella: The Movie'?"

Jennie shrugged. "Sorry, I would like to direct that question to my company instead. Thank you."

"Why have you been so quiet about the whole incident, Jennie-ssi? If you were really the victim, why didn't you speak up for yourself, Jennie-ssi? Were you too afraid? Or trying to be nice?"

"Would anyone believe me if I said I didn't do it?" Jennie said with a chuckle. "I don't think so. I wasn't afraid, or trying to be nice. I was waiting for the two of them to own up in front of the public, but it's unfortunate that for two whole weeks, they remained silent about the whole situation. It's nice to see that the truth is finally out."

"Jennie-ssi! But I heard that ESM Entertainment was behind Joy-ssi and Yeri-ssi the whole time - apparently, they were the ones who put restrictions on the distribution of the CCTV footage. Do you have anything to say about that?"

"Ah, yes, I heard about that." Jennie pursed her lips. "Well, I don't have much to say about that. I'm sure everyone who has a mind of their own can form their own impression of ESM Entertainment and my fellow co-actresses without me making a statement, am I right? I'll go with no comment for this one."

"Jennie-ssi, over here! One more question! I'm curious to find out about JK-ssi's reaction to the whole situation! Was he very angry? Sad? Did he go confront the two actresses after hearing your side of the story?"

"Well, let's see..." Jennie faked an expression of deep thought. "Hm, I'm not JK-ssi though. Why don't you ask him instead?"

"Last question!" Jimin announced to the crowd of reporters. "Please, we really have to go soon!"

"Jennie-ssi! You're filming Love House today with your boyfriend JK-ssi, as well as Irene-ssi from Red Velvet and your friend V-ssi, am I right? How do you feel about the shoot? Anything in particular to say to your costars?"

Jennie smiled. "I'm looking forward to filming with them. I hope I make many long-lasting bonds while I'm there. Thank you!"

"Jennie-ssi! Please look over here!"
