Y/n was quick to return back to the forest, he wanted to make sure his armour was still there which it was. "Alright, we need to come up with some sort of plan." He said, placing Pair on the ground next to his suit of armour.
Pair beeped various suggestions at him, trying to come up with a good idea. "Those aren't bad ideas ... but I don't even have any money yet, why don't I go back into town and try to earn myself whatever money is being used." Y/n said, thinking to himself whether it was a good idea, soon he nodded and agreed with himself.
"Okay, I'm not sure how long I'll be but I'll try and earn some money, maybe get some supplies if I do." He said, waving goodbye to Pair as he made his way back towards Beach City.
As he walked through the forest, he though of ways of making money, it was probably best to be some sort of handy man. It seems like the town would need one ...
It didn't take him long to find himself on the boardwalk of the City, he looked around to see if he could spot anything that could earn him even a little bit of money. His eyes landed on some sort of Arcade, walking towards it, he thought to investigate, maybe even fix some things.
As Y/n entered the establishment, a man called out to him. "Hey there! I haven't seen you 'round here before!" The man said with a creepy wide smile.
"Yeah, I'm looking around for some jobs ... you need anything fixed?" Y/n asked as he looked around the arcade.
"Are you some sort of mechanic? If so, you're in luck, some of the machines around here have been playing up." The man said. "You can call me Mr. Smiley." He said, extending his hand for a handshake.
Y/n was quick to accept the handshake. "I'm Y/n. Take me to the problem." He said, causing Mr. Smiley to turn around and gesture for Y/n to follow. Y/n understood and started following the man which took him to the games that needed repairs.
"These here are the broken ones; I believe it's something in the wiring." Mr. Smiley said, nodding towards the three games, two of them were generic racing games while the biggest one was labelled Meat Beat Mania.
"It shouldn't take too long to have them fixed." Y/n said, moving up to the games and inspecting them closely. Mr. Smiley had quickly walked away to deal with a small child causing a scene, but it didn't bother Y/n as he went behind the games to see the wires already hanging out and completely tangled with each other.
"No wonder they're broke ..." Y/n muttered as he started untangling the messy ball of wires that somehow ended up connecting the three games together. Surprisingly, he was quick to untangle the wires and managed to separate the machines, the next step was to figure out the problem with the wires.
Upon closer inspection, the wires were fine, the games weren't plugged in properly, Y/n chuckled to himself as he plugged them all in; causing sounds to erupt for all three. The games coming to life had brought Mr. Smiley back over to the once broken machines. "Hah! You fixed them; I didn't think you'd be done so fast." Mr Smiley ... smiled as he watched Y/n climb out from behind the machines.
"They weren't too damaged, mainly tangled." He responded.
"Either way, they're fixed now, here, 50 bucks should do it!" The man said, pulling out two 20-dollar notes and one 10.
"Much appreciated, if you have any other problems come find me." Y/n said with a slight smile as he pocketed the cash and parted with Mr. Smiley. He took one of the notes out of his pocket and looked at the money, noticing very odd symbols and being drastically different to the dollar note he was used to.
Shrugging he pocketed the money again before he looked in either direction to find a job, his mind made him remember the man from the car wash. "Oh yeah ... what was his name ... Greg? I should see if he has anything that needs fixing." Y/n said to himself, walking in the direction of the car wash. It was likely that Greg did have something that needed repairs, from the state of the car wash it probably all needed repairs.
