It is the late evening. Y/n, Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst are seen sitting on a hill and watching the sunset over Beach City. Steven is lying nearby against Lion, strumming his ukulele, Peridot was still in the barn.
"Good work today, Y/n." Garnet smiled to the human that was sat next to her.
"It was nothing." Y/n assured. "We need to get this drill done, the sooner the better."
"Yes, but without you, we wouldn't have gone nearly as fast." Pearl complimented.
"Yeah man! You rock!" Amethyst cheered.
"It's not just me, you guys helped as well!" Y/n shot back, not wanting all the attention.
"That may be true, but you pointed us in the right direction, and for that, I thank you." Garnet told, resting a hand on Y/n's shoulder.
Y/n chuckled. "You're welcome, I just hope we can finish this drill soon ... Got a feeling we'll be having more visitors very soon." He said, earning a hum in response from Pearl.
"Absolutely, I don't think Homeworld will take lightly to the fact their ship was destroyed, and two gems missing." Pearl told, hoping they were prepared for what was to come.
Peridot was quick to leave the barn, and once she realised where everybody was, she became slightly annoyed at the lack of work that was going on. Making a few strange noises, she walked over to Steven.
"Steven." Peridot said, holding a drill.
"Hi!" Steven smiled.
"Why did we stop working on the drill?! Why are they just sitting there looking at nothing?!" Peridot replied, agitated at the fact the others were just staring at the sunset.
"We worked hard, and we deserve to take it easy for a little bit. I mean just look at that view. It's beautiful." Steven told, earning a groan from Peridot.
"It's going to be blown to oblivion by the Cluster if we don't get back to work!" Peridot shouted, frustrated.
"Working hard is important, but feeling good is important too." Steven relaxed a bit.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!" Peridot yelled, accidently causing the drill to whirl to life for a brief moment.
"Hey! What's that? a C?" Steven asked, plucking the C string on the ukulele.
"The drill?" Peridot questioned, making the drill buzz again.
"Yeah!" Steven smiled. Peridot then made the drill buzz in a higher pitch. "Oh my gosh, now it's music!"
"Music?" Peridot questioned.
"Yeah! It's music! Like this, do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do." Steven strummed his ukulele.
"Do-mi-so-do..." Peridot muttered.
"Isn't it pretty?" Steven sung.
"That's exceedingly simple." Peridot said as Steven strummed his ukulele again. "Do-mi-so-ti..."
"We're making music." Steven sung along with Peridot.
"What is the point? You're not making anything." Peridot commented, not getting the point of music.
"Well, if it isn't anything, then why does it sound so good?" Steven said.
"I suppose it's just interest... Do-mi-so-do. Devoid of substance or purpose, a hypothetical pattern... Do-mi-so-ti. For the satisfaction of bringing it to completion." Peridot tried piecing her thoughts together.
"Sure." Steven nodded.
"Do-mi-so-ti. Interest without meaning? Solutions without problems?" Peridot said.
