"So-" Mira sighed as she righted herself, wiping the blood off her mouth with the back of her hand, smudging her lipstick. She flung her hand out to the side, letting her blood spray across the arena floor. "Why didn't you kill me just now?"

"That'd be such a waste, this is just starting to get fun~" The magician smiled. "I've got you figured out now~"

"Do you now?" Mira sighed as she bent to pick her hatchet off the ground. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she rolled her neck, her ominous aura slowly seeping out as she finally leveled her gaze with the magician. "If that's the case-" She lifted her hatchet from her side, pointing the tip of it at his head. "Let's dance."

Once again, the girl hurled her hatchet at Hisoka's head. "Is this really the only move you have~?" Hisoka sighed as he dodged the weapon by stepping to the side, getting ready to watch her "appear" next to the hatchet. Perhaps this toy wasn't as promising as he'd  thought.

"Do you really think I'm that naive?" Hisoka's heart jumped to his throat as he watched Mira's hatchet bury itself in the wall, her voice coming from his left side. It was a diversion. He put his arm up, just in time to block a ko-powered kick to his ribs. The impact still had enough power to send him sliding backwards on his feet.

But Mira had already vanished from the spot she'd kicked him, appearing next to her hatchet embedded in the far wall. "I wouldn't take on somebody like you without a few tricks up my sleeve." She disappeared again, reappearing a moment later at Hisoka's side, hatchet raised like she planned to slice his shoulder.

Hisoka put his arm up, his forearm hitting the handle of the weapon as he twisted his arm, effectively twisting the weapon out of her hands before it clattered to the floor. Not without a price though, the sharp weapon left a deep gash across his forearm. Mira's attempt to hold on to her weapon caused her to come forwards, leading her right into the reaper's powerful uppercut to the underside of her jaw, sending Mira sailing right back into the middle of the ring. But the girl didn't  stay down long, she rolled to her feet again, spitting out yet another mouth full of blood several feet away before disappearing again.

Hisoka smiled, righting himself and putting a hand on his hip. Yes, he'd figured it out and set his trap. He tuned out the roar of the crowd and the occasion crackled, screeching from the announcer as he got ready to take down his prey.

Mira appeared a few feet in front of him, lunging forwards like she planned to punch him in the stomach, only to disappear again inches away  from him. She reappeared behind the magician, snatching up her hatchet before swiping it at the back of Hisoka's knees. He leapt up, narrowly avoiding her weapon by a few inches before swinging his leg out in an attempt to strike Mira in the face. But she leapt back, avoiding his blow.

"Damnit." Mira panted, practically baring her teeth at the magician, flashing her golden fangs again.

She didn't give Hisoka time for one of his witty remarks before she disappeared again. It was nearly impossible to tell where Mira would appear again, originally he'd thought that she could only "teleport" to her hatchet; but obviously that wasn't the case. Mira appeared behind him, almost slipping on the small puddle of blood she'd left there before disappearing again. She was trying to disorient the reaper, appearing at random places before flitting somewhere else.

The reaper's eyes widened as realization finally dawned on him, he knew exactly what her ability was and how she was using it. Mira appeared in front of him again, she'd sheathed her hatchet, opting to try and land an upper-cut to his jaw. The magician used his elbow to block the uppercut and his forearm to block the side of his face from a follow-up attack as he moved in to try and land a punch of his own. But she disappeared again before he got close, reappearing behind him. This was getting a little annoying.

With a soft sigh, he spun, dodging another attack before she tried to disappear again. But Hisoka was done with this game, he activated his Bungee gum he'd connected to her chin with his last upper-cut. Mira yelped with surprise as she was suddenly pulled forwards off her feet; straight into Hisoka's fist. The hit was hard enough to knock her straight back on her ass, blinking a couple times as he'd dazed her again.

"You're an emitter, aren't you~?" Hisoka purred, tugging up on his bungee gum still connected to her chin tauntingly. His cruel smile only grew as he watched Mira snap herself out of her daze, her eyes widening as she looked up at him. "Your little disappearing act is cute, but that's not what you're really doing is it~?"

It was Hisoka's turn for his eyes to widen in surprise as Mira started to laugh from her place on the floor. She didn't even bother trying to get up, she simply rested her arms on her knees as she looked up at him, smiling like she hadn't a care in the world.

"Well? Go on, Mr. Grim Reaper! Tell me-  What am I doing?"

Hisoka blinked, still taken aback by her reaction. Where was the fear that most opponents showed at this point? He'd just figured out her ability; for most nen users that would be a huge problem.  But Mira didn't seem the least bit concerned. Did he have it wrong? Was she toying with him somehow? No- impossible. Hisoka was right, he knew what she was doing but- something was missing. Something with Mira herself, he just couldn't quite place it yet. He paused for a moment, watching the girl's amber eyes.  There was no trepidation and no fear but also no will nor fiery passion to survive this battle. It's like Mira simply didn't care. And to add to the oddity, she should be sporting a few injuries by now. At least some scraps and bruises around her face, but she didn't have a single mark on her.

Despite the multitude of questions buzzing through his head, the magician maintained his confidant facade. Smiling as he tugged the bungee gum again, kind of hoping that she'd get up from the floor.

"You're projecting your aura~ making it appear as though you are teleporting around the ring. But really you're~" He paused, blinking as a sudden wave of unease washed over him. No, this wasn't just unease, this was fear. His eyes flicked to the bracelet on his wrist.

"Uh- hello?" Mira furrowed her thick brows as she finally rolled to her feet.

But the magician ignored her, looking up into the stands. A knot of his own anxiety formed in his stomach as he realized Kinta's seat was empty.

Mira looked behind herself as well before looking back at Hisoka. "What the hell? Are you zoning out?"

"What's this?" The announcer spoke up again. "Hisoka seems to have totally lost his focus, what is going on?!"

The reaper was busy trying to pinpoint  Kinta's location and when exactly she'd left. He must have been too distracted by this fight to notice her leave, or even notice the uneasy steadily building until it'd become something he couldn't ignore. Where the hell was she?

"Alright, fine. Guess I'll come to you then." Mira grumbled, crouching slightly before lunging for Hisoka, unsheathing her hatchet as she moved. "I only need one more point."

Hisoka barely spared her a second glance, as he stepped to the side, using his bungee gum on her chin to pull her forwards. Mira must have forgotten about that, judging how her eyes widened. He came behind her as she stumbled forwards, grabbing a fist full of hair in one hand and her chin in the other. The loud crack of her neck snapping silenced the arena before Mira's lifeless body dropped to the ground. The magician didn't even pause as he stepped over her and strode towards the exit, ignoring how her body twitched and gasped one last time before finally going still.

The speakers crackled to life as he walked. "What- what just happened? It all happened so fast- I-  Hisoka won the match?! Mira is dead!"

Hisoka ignored the combination of cheers and jeers as he exited the ring, playtime was over. He ground his molars as he walked, he was getting tired of this seemingly endless cycle. What the hell had Kinta gotten herself into now?
