She turned away from him and walked back to the kitchen, Hisoka not far behind her. She grabbed a couple of shot glasses while he sat down at the little table and opened the bottle. It was corked, but apparently he didn't need a tool to open it. She watched him simply dig one of his impossibly long nails into the cork and pull it out.
"Damn I need nails like that-" She murmured as she sat down across from him. "Is-is that Tequila?!"
Hisoka just chuckled as he filled both of their glasses. "Ladies first~"
"How gentlemanly." She muttered as she watched him fill her glass with the clear liquid. "Okay then, what's my Nen type?"
Hisoka smiled. "Straight to business hmm~?"
"You didn't put a restriction on the questions I could ask."
"You and I are birds of a feather, Kinta~" Hisoka chuckled again. "You're a transmutter."
"How do you know that?"
"Ah~ah~" Hisoka clicked his tongue at her. "It's my turn."
Kinta pursed her lips and sat back in her chair. "Then ask away."
"Why do you have people after you~?"
Kinta blinked, she hadn't really expected him to ask about that. She eye'd the shot glass on the table then back at Hisoka. "My father wants me to come home."
Hisoka cocked an eyebrow. "You can be vague if you want, it just means this game will drag on for a while~"
"Why do you like to fight so much?"
A cruel smile broke out over his face. "I love crushing people, to watch their face crumble in defeat before I take the fire from their eyes~" He shuddered. "It's intoxicating~"
"I don't know why I expected a different answer." Kinta rolled her eyes.
"Don't tell me you don't feel the same way, I've seen your fights too~"
Kinta cleared her throat. "You're turn."
"Have you ever been bound, gagged and fucked until you couldn't walk straight~? His cruel smile widened.
Kinta almost choked on her own tongue. "I'm not answering that." She grabbed her glass and knocked back the shot of tequila, she'd never had tequila before but she refused to make a face at the burning sensation down her throat.
Hisoka chuckled. "I'll take that as a no~"
"I'm usually the one doing the tying up." Kinta put her elbows on the table and watched him top off her glass again. "Where are you from?"
Hisoka cocked an eyebrow and eyed his shot glass.
"Oh come on, that's a pretty tame question compared to what you just asked me." She leaned further forward on the table. "Unless you're scared?"
Magician man glared at her. "A place called Glam Glass Land."
"The pleasure capital." Kinta nodded. "That doesn't surprise me."
"How long have you been away from home~?"
"A little over a year."
"Why not leave sooner~?"
"Nah-ah. It's my turn." Kinta pointed her thumb to herself. "How do you know my Nen type?"
Hisoka crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back in the chair, Kinta found her gaze wandering down to his massive biceps and had to remind herself to look up. "My personality analysis was my first clue~ When I first met you, I thought you might be an Enhancer. You're very straight-forward with your thinking and selfish with your goals. But not very simple nor honest~ it wasn't until I saw you playing with that purple-haired beauty that I realized you're probably a Transmuter like me. But your water divination test confirmed it."
"So because I turned the water sweet it means I'm a transmuter?" Kinta mused.
Even though it wasn't her turn, Hisoka nodded. "What exactly did Arthur do to you? Why are you determined to kill him~?"
"Nope." Kinta grumbled as she took another shot of the tequila.
Hisoka cocked an eyebrow as he reached across the table and filled her glass again. "A woman who can take shots of tequila without a chaser and not make a face~?"
"Is the type of woman who'll ruin your life." Kinta smirked, the second shot had not actually been so bad.
He chuckled again.
"Who taught you nen?" Kinta felt oddly warm as she spoke.
Hisoka smiled. "A man named Moritonio. What happened with your old master~?"
Kinta looked at him for a long moment, contemplating how to answer this. "I killed him." She finally sighed. "He didn't exactly give me a choice, he wanted me to turn myself in for killing those bounty hunters. I couldn't have him blabbing to the police and exposing my where-abouts."
Hisoka nodded slowly, his gaze falling down to his glass. "I killed my teacher as well~" He murmured before taking the shot, he smiled at her as he re-filled the glass.
"Why?" Kinta cocked her head at him.
"Is that your next question~?" The look in his eyes had changed, he almost looked- sad?
Kinta nodded slowly.
"Well, I'm not answering it~" Hisoka hummed before taking another shot. "How in the world, did you manage to cut my Bungee Gum?"
"Humm-" Kinta leaned forward and rested her chin on the palm of her hand. "I really don't know. You where yanking me around like a damn marionette doll, and I remember wishing that I could cut your Bungee Gum and that's it. All of a sudden, apparently I cut it."
"Hmm~ It could have something to do with your ability."
"How would I have an ability if I just started learning about Nen?" Kinta looked at him curiously.
"In rare cases, people will develop an ability when subjected to extreme stress or life-and-death situations on a regular basis. Has something like that happened before~?"
Kinta blinked, memories that she'd worked to keep buried for so many years suddenly flashed to the surface. That man's hands on her body, her desperately trying to escape his clutches, his body holding her down and his hands digging into her pants. And this his awful screams, his hot blood splashing across her face as his hands, arms and face were cut to ribbons.
"Kinta~?" Hisoka waved his hand in front of her face, snapping her back to reality. "Are you going to answer my question?"
"Nope." Kinta's heart pounded in her chest and her fingers trembled slightly as she took another shot before pushing her glass towards Hisoka for a refill. The floor felt like it was starting to move. "Were you ever in a circus?"
"What gave me away? Was it my appearance~?" Hisoka motioned to himself with a wave of his hand.
Kinta tried to stifle her giggle with her hand.
"Yes In Moriorti's troupe~"
"Ohh, so your Nen teacher was also a circus ring leader? Interesting~" Kinta murmured.
"What is your father's ability?" Hisoka asked bluntly, swirling his drink in the glass.
Kinta stared at the male for a long moment before answering. "Okay, but you have to-" She stretched out her hand and pointed her pink towards him. "Pinky promise that you wont try to kill him before I get my chance."
A laugh bubbled from Hisoka's chest. "You want me to~ pinky promise?"
Kinta nodded eagerly, even though doing so made her feel like she was swimming.
"That's~ adorable. But what makes you think I'll keep my promise~?" Hisoka leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table.
Kinta gave him a blank stare. "Cause it's a pinky promise?"
"Ar~are you drunk already?" Hisoka's expression softened and a smile broke out over his face.
"Does being drunk feel like the floor is moving?" Kinta still held her pinky out, sporting a dorky grin on her face.
"Sometimes~" He laughed.
"Then- I may be drunk." As if on cue, Kinta hiccuped. She blushed deeply and laughed.
Hisoka gave her a rare, soft smile. "Cute~" He reached out and wrapped his pinky around hers. "Fine~"
"Damn your hands are big-" Kinta muttered.
"Stay focused." Hisoka laughed.
"Right." she released his finger and sat up slightly. "Resurrection. I think he's a specialist."
Hisoka's eyes widened in surprise. "Did you just say, he can resurrect people~?"
Kinta nodded. "Pretty cool right? It's his favorite trick to use to convince people to follow him. The promise of Immortality" She waved her hands in front of her dramatically. "Too bad he's full of shit."
"Oh~?"
"There are limits. People can only be brought back so many times. Who was your first kill?" Kinta suddenly changed the subject.
"A murder called the 100 faced John Doe~"
"Let me guess, you wanted to see who was stronger?"
Hisoka smiled. "You nailed it. Why did you agree to a drinking game if your such a lightweight?" He cocked his head to the side as he watched Kinta lay her head on the table.
"I've never drank like this before-" She murmured, enjoying the cool table on her warm face.
"Then why did you agree to a drinking game~?"
Kinta shrugged. "Dunno, sounded like fun."
Hisoka chuckled again. "Well, is this fun~?"
"Kinda." Kinta nodded as she slowly sat up. "So, explain your personality analysis. I'm *hic* curious-"
"Alright~" Hisoka rested his chin in the palm of his hand and watched her with an amused expression. "Enhancers are simple and determined, hardly ever lie and tend to be very selfish with their goals. Their Nen technique tends to be very simple as well. Transmuters are whimsical and prone to deceit, they tend to have unique attitudes and rarely show their true intentions. Their Nen techniques tend to rely on their aura having unpredictable properties."
"Alright you said that already." Kinta sighed. "But what about the rest?"
"Can you even name all the Nen types~?"
"Hmm-" She pinched the bridge of her nose. "Besides those two there are Emitters, Manipulators, Specialists and- crap what's the word? The ones that make stuff appear with their aura."
"You mean Conjurers~?" He chuckled.
"Yeah! Conjurers."
"Conjurers are usually high-strung and stoic, very observant and logical. Most of the things they creat are used in a very deliberate, logical fashion~" He suddenly stood from the table and walked towards the kitchen. "Emitters are impatient and short-tempered. Most of their abilities are long-range." He spoke as he grabbed a glass and started filling it with water. "Manipulators are argumentative and logical. They tend to want to keep their loved ones safe, but can also be very selfish in their personal goals. They usually prefer to use their ability to control other people but sometimes choose to manipulate inanimate objects as well."
He walked back to the table and set the glass of water next to Kinta. "Here, I'm watching you get drunker by the minute~"
Kinta just smiled and clasped the glass tightly between two hands, gulping the water greedily as Hisoka sat down across from her again. "And what about Specialists?" She asked as she set the empty glass back down.
"You tell me~" Hisoka's cruel smile returned. "What's your father like~?"
Kinta laughed bitterly. "Charismatic, independent, always surrounded by people, narcissistic, sadist."
"Well, the charismatic and independent are pretty on-par with a specialist. And because their Nen speciality is so unique they tend to only have one ability."
"Well, hopefully that'll make killing him easier." Kinta muttered as she stared at her still-full shot glass. "Wait, who's turn is it?"
"I'll go~" He leveled his gaze with hers. "What are you so afraid of?"
"Why does that matter? You don't seem like somebody who likes to see weakness in other people."
"It's rare that I see any fear from you, even with me. So I'm curious to know what scares you so badly, like on Zevil Island." He leaned forwards and rested his chin on his hand again. "What haunts your dreams, Kinta~?"
Kinta burst out in a loud laugh. "No way in hell am I answering that." She took her shot and set the glass back on the table with a loud clack. "If I told you what I was afraid of, you'd probably use it against me. You think I'm stupid?"
"How disappointing~" he sighed. "I was hoping you'd gotten drunk enough to tell me~"
"Nope!" Kinta hiccuped again. "My turn, what are you afraid of?"
He cocked an eyebrow at her. "What makes you think I'm afraid of anything~?"
"Nobody puts on a facade like yours-" she motioned her hand towards him. "Unless they are afraid of something. You're obviously hiding who you really are, but why? Who hurt you? What are you afraid of?"
Hisoka's eyes went wide and he blinked at her. Obviously she was onto something, but he simply chuckled and took his shot.
"How disappointing-" Kinta teased him. She shifted in her seat and almost fell out of her chair.
Hisoka burst out in a rumbling laugh. "I think that's enough for one night~"
"But it was just getting interesting-" Kinta pouted and hiccuped again.
"The sun is going to come up soon, you should probably get some rest~"
"Crap, is it really that late?" Kinta quickly stood from the table and immediately regretted it, the room spun and she had to hold onto the back of the chair just to stay upright. "If this is what being drunk is like, I don't think I like it." She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples with one hand. She suddenly felt an arm slip over her shoulders, it made her jump, she would have fallen on her ass if the arm hadn't steadied her.
"Relax~" Hisoka chuckled. "I'm being nice for once~"
"Really? Wow, who are you and what have you done with the mystical murderous magician?" Kinta teased him but allowed his arm to guide her towards the bedroom.
"You know, most people are too afraid to tease me like you do." Hisoka grumbled, but she didn't miss the smile on his face.
"Do I need to repeat myself again?"
"No~ you've made it abundantly clear that you're not afraid of me." He murmured as Kinta sat down on the bed. "Do you have a death wish?"
"No!" Kinta laughed. "Where's the fun if there's no risk? Don't tell me you don't enjoy it, I think you and I are more alike than you think." She murmured as she laid down and buried her face in the pillow.
"What makes you say that~?"
Kinta closed her eyes, she was already starting to drift off to sleep. "I think you seem- really lonely, Hisoka." She muttered into her pillow.
"Are you saying you pity me?" His voice sounded clipped.
"I wouldn't dare pity you, pity is annoying and boring. But-" she yawned into her pillow. "That doesn't mean we can't entertain each other for the time being."
Hisoka was silent again as Kinta slowly drifted off to sleep. "You're so odd~" were the last words she heard before she finally fell asleep.
