Our Boy (Part 1)

Sylvie's pov
I walk up in Matt's arms. It's the most amazing feeling ever. I turn over to face him. "Morning handsome." I say giving him a kiss. "Morning beautiful." He says kissing me back. I hear Landon start to cry so I start to get up and get him. But Matt stops me. "I'll get him babe" he says getting up and heading off to get our son. Moments later he brings Landon into our bed. "Little monkey doesn't seem to be feeling good again" Matt says. "Does he feel warm to you?" I say. "No but just to be on the safe side I think we should keep him home from daycare. I'll take his temperature too. Would your mom be willing to make the drive up here to watch him?" He asks as he grabs the thermometer. "I can certainly ask her. Let me give her a call." I say as Landon lies in my lap. "What about work it's gonna take her some time to get her." I say. "It's okay don't worry about it. I will pull Kidd from truck and place her on ambo till you get to the house. Temp 99.9" He says. So I pull out my phone and call my mom. "hey mom" I say "hey sweetheart what's up? Don't you have shift today?" she asks "yeah um I do but we are kinda in bind. Landon isn't feeling the best. Has a bit of a temp and we don't have anyone to watch him. Matt and I were wondering if you would be able to come up and watch him for us. I know its last minute and the drive is semi long. But...." I say "don't worry honey I will definitely be glad to come watch my grandson for a few days." She says "thank you mom. You are a lifesaver. Will see you soon" I say. "That's great she's coming it makes me feel better having her watch Landon." He says as he starts to get ready for work." I should only miss the first hour of work since we were up so early and got a head start on this." I say "just take as much time as you need honey. I just let Kidd know she's on ambo till you get there. Come on buddy let's get you changed and then I think we can cuddle with mommy for a few. "We can lie for 45 minutes then daddy's got to go finish getting ready for work." He says. I curl up next to my boys. Soon after matt leaves for work. About 2 hour later my mom finally arrives. "Oh thank you mom." I say as I open the door. "No problem it's what grandmas are for." She says with a smile. "Sorry to make this short but I got to get to work." I say "no its okay go." She says "thanks mom Landon is sleeping right now he's been down for about an hour. So he could be another hour before he gets up. His food and milk is all in the fridge and there are leftovers from last night, top left shelf that you are welcome to." I say as I grab my bag for shift. I walk into the firehouse and see Gallo cooking breakfast. He's becoming a really good cook. "It smells amazing" I say walking up to her. "Thanks it will be ready in 10 minutes." He says as I walk off to the locker room to put my stuff away. I run into Kidd as she was walking out. "Thanks for subbing for me while I was out this morning." I say to her. "No problem I just hope Landon feels better." She says. "Thanks I've got to go update Matt I'll talk to you later." I say

Casey's POV

I was in my quarters doing paperwork when there was a knock on the door. "Hey you how did it go with your mom?" I ask "oh great no problems at all. Landon was asleep when she got there. So I gave her the run down and told her to call if she needed anything. " She says to me. "That's good I'm glad she's there." I say "so did I miss anything this morning?" she asks me. "Nope not at all, just morning briefing which there was nothing new there." I say. "do you know if the rig got stocked." She asks " yeah kidd and violet did that already." I say "nice one less thing I have to worry about." She says taking a seat on my bunk. "Hey I was thinking since your mom's here maybe we could go to Molly's tomorrow night. We haven't been in a while." I say "ohhh yeah Molly's would be amazing." She says with a smile. "Also since you mom is here maybe we should plan a day when we can head down to see your parents" I say. "That would be great. Landon would love the farm." She says as the alarm goes off. Ambulance 61 man down 317 Belmont avenue. "Duty calls" She says giving me a quick kiss before running out to the rig.

Sylvie's pov

The day is going very slow. We've only had one ambo call and 2 house fires that were very minimal damage. I even checked in oh my mom and Landon. She said he was sleeping most of the day, which kind of worried me. I'm lying on my cot when I decide to get up and head to the common room. I see Matt sitting at the head of the table reading the paper. I grab a cup of coffee, walk over and sit down next to him. He looks up from the paper and gives me a wink. About 10 minutes later the alarm goes off.

Ambulance 61 Baby in distress high fever 8642 Oak Street Ave.

I get up fast but then freeze after hearing the address. I can't move. "Matt, Matt" I say flaying my hand trying to find his hand to hold. "That's our house" I say in a worried voice. I somehow manage to find my strength to move again and jump in the rig with violet. "I'm coming with you." Casey says calling after me and hops in the back of the rig. "I'll let Boden know what's going on" Severide says as he sees matt jump in. "thanks" we yell back as we head off sirens blaring. My phone rings and I am too scared to answer it. So I hand it to Casey. "We're on our way. Hold tight the ambo will be there soon " I hear him say in a worried voice. We pull up to the house and I hop out. "Landon!! baby!!" I say running in the front door. I find my baby really pale looking and screaming bloody murder. "What and when was his last temperature?" I ask my mom "102. About 12 minutes ago" I stand frozen again as Matt comes up behind me and hugs me. "Everything will be alright. He'll be fine." He says to me. violet takes his temperature. "Let's take it and see what It is now. 104 that's too high for a Baby. Will give him something to get the fever down." Violet says. "I knew I should have taken him in sooner it's all my fault." I say crying. "Babe is not your fault. Come on let's go you can hold him in the ambo." I say as she picks up Landon from her mom and sits on the stretcher in the ambo. The hold ride to MED was stressful. It felt like an eternity till we pulled up to the bay.
