Auction Night

Brett's Pov

Hey don't forget that tonight is the auction for charity. I expect everyone to be there since we are not on shift and bring your friends ." Connie says as she enters the common room. I hear moaning from some of the men in the room as I walk up to her and Foster while I'm finishing my paperwork. "So who are you going to bid on tonight bet I can guess " Foster says to me. "I'm not binding on anyone tonight." I say as I continue to write on my clipboard without looking at them. "What come on its all part of the fun. When do we ever get to bid on hot men? " She says to me " that's true but its not my style you know that. Plus I'm kind of seeing someone." I say shyly. " seeing someone who, you never told us. Come on spill the beans who is it. Who are you seeing? It is someone in the firehouse. I ride with you every shift. How do I not know this? I need to know" Foster says in a desperate voice. "Not telling out of respect of my guy. We will tell when we are ready." I say firmly "come on I gotta know please." Foster says begging me "Leave the poor girl alone will you she has the right not to tell." Connie says. "thanks Connie" I say as Kidd walks up. "so who you bidding on let me guess Severide." Foster says. " huh what are you talking about? Kidd says confused. "she's talking about the auction tonight." I say. " ah yes the auction. Yes Severide is who I'm bidding on. No surprise there since we are dating and I better win him. Im not in the mood to fight anyone tonight. He's my man." Kidd says. I look at my phone and realized I got a text to met Casey in his office about 2 minutes ago. " Urg I got to go Casey quartets apparently needs me to answer some questions from the last call we were on." I say "Do you need me to come with you. I know you were lead on the call but I might be able to help."Foster says to me. "uh no I got this I'll see you guys later." I say quickly probably too quickly and a little bit suspicious. I head to his office. "You wanted to see me." I say as I knock on the door frame. "close the door please" he says without looking up from his desk. I do as I'm told and close the door once I'm inside. As soon as the door shuts Casey is up out of his chair and has his arms around me. This caught me by surprise. "Hey missed you" he says "you saw me all shift." I say "yes but it's not the same and being near you and getting to holding you. Are you coming to the auction tonight?" He says "yeah I'm. Should I bid on you or not, we haven't really discussed this and we haven't told people about us so I mean if you don't want me to bid on you or anyone else I won't." I say rambling and looking away. "Hey look at me. It's up to you on if you want to bid on me or someone else. I'm fine either way. I know I'll have way more fun with you on that date but if you're not ready then I'm good with whatever you want." He tells me as he pulls me in close with his arms tucked behind my back. "Well I guess I see how I feel when I get there. Plus it's for charity so it could look like I'm just bidding on you as a friend for a good cause." I say with a smile. Ambulance 61 man down unknown causes 2145 north Neva Avenue. "go to go" I say " be safe I'll see you tonight" he says as he kisses me before I run out the door.

At the auction

Brett's Pov

I brought my good friend and roommate Keria with me tonight. She's wearing a navy blue floor length dress. I'm wearing a deep purple dress that falls to just below the knees. I normally don't like wearing dresses but we had to dress fancy tonight plus it's my boyfriends favorite dress. Thought I'd surprise him by wearing it. "you look nice" Kidd says as I walk into the hall. "Thanks. So you ready for tonight?" I ask "no I'm afraid that someone will out bid me on Severide. You know all the girls think he's hot. I can only spend so much. I'm getting late on my rent." She says "just know that no matter what happens he loves you and nothing can change that." I say knowing from experience as Kidd walks off. No one knows that Casey and I are dating. We have been keeping it a secret for over a month since we work together and he's considered a higher up to me. We plan to tell everyone soon but not sure when. He says I can bid on him if I want or any other guy tonight. We aren't that serious yet but I love him to death. I can't imagine my life without him. I get this feeling every time I see him. The action is about to start and I make my way up to the middle of the room."Alright let's get this started remember people be generous this is for charity to help the less fortunate." Connie says. Otis was auctioned off to a blond girl for $1,300. Severide as auctioned off to Kidd for $1,500 she fought hard for him she almost took out a woman trying to outbid her. It was funny to watch. Kelly was on stage laughing. Which then he got a scowl from Stella. Keria bought Ritter for $925. Gallo was bought by a brunet from another station for $5,000 everyone knew she had a crush on him. Trudy Platt from the 21st district bought her husband for $1,200 and Dona bought Boden for $1,550. "Casey's up next" Keria says to me. "I know" I say excitedly. She knows about me and Casey since he's spent the night a few time over at our place. "What are you going to do?" she asks " I don't know." I say. "You're not going to get jealous if someone outbids you. Are you? She asks "no ill be fine. I say lying through my teeth. "Alright next up is Matthew Casey" Connie says as Casey steps out. Bidding will start at $600." $600 a blond says. "Do I hear$ 700" Connie says. "$700 someone yells. "Do I hear $800." she says "$800 a brunet says. "Do I hear $900" she says. "$900 I yell out." I get some odd looks from my coworkers but I don't care. "$1,000 someone else yells. "I have a $1,000 can I get $1,500" Connie says. "$2,000 someone yells out. "$2,500 some brunet yells out. "$2,800" I yell out. "Do I hear $3,000?" Connie says as I see that Casey can't keep his eyes off me. The bidding keeps going up and up and it becomes a bidding war with a skinny blond and me and a brunet for a bit but I'm running out of money. They keep saying how he's going to be there's. I can't stand it."$4,900 the skinny blond says" It's now up to $5,175. And the brunet has dropped out of the bid. "$6,000 he's all mine honey so back off you have no chance with him anyway he looks like he's more into me than he would ever be you." The Blond yells out as she give me a look of back off. She then turns and faces Casey. We could have a lot of fun on our date hot stuff." She says to Casey making him blush. "It just dinner nothing else. He says with annoyance. She's making me uncomfortable making me doubt my relationship with Casey. I could only go to $5,800 and that was pushing my limits. I just couldn't lose Casey. I Just couldn't. I have this desperate look on my face as I look up at Casey. I then see Casey lean over and whisper something into Connie's ear and she now has a huge smile on her face. "I've got $6,000 do I have $6,500? Connie asks. "Help me I can't lose him" I say turning to Keria she gives me a look that says go ahead. "$8,000 I yell out shocking myself and everyone else. I'd figure out some way to get the money and pay her back. "$9,000 the skinny blond yells but Connie yells back "sold for $8,000 to the beautiful curly haired Blond from 51." "what that's not fair I bid more than she did" the blond argues. He should be mine, not yours." The blond screams angrily trying to get on stage. But Severide and Cruz stop her. "I make the rules around here sold for $8,000. Casey go collect your date." She says. I rush up to the front of the room to meet Casey. As I'm doing so he's walking towards me. I see he's walking really fast towards me. I don't even get to start talking before he kisses me. I'm a little shocked by this since we were hadn't figured out when to tell people about us but at that moment I didn't care. Everything just seemed to melt always. "You know what that dress does to me" he says as he pulls away from the kiss. "Exactly, that's why I wore it." I say all flirty like. "Her, Her that frizzy little girl you chose her over me." the skinny blond says in a jealous voice as she walks up to us. I turn toward her while still holding onto Casey. "Listen honey, back off he's my man not yours go find someone else. I say to her face gaining my confidence back and truing back to Casey. "Man I love you." He says to me as he rests his forehead on mine. "I Love you too." I say with a smile. He kisses me one more time before we walk off to pay for him. "How did you have that much money?" he asks holding me around my waist. " I don't I've saved up some for this but I'm borrowing a little from my amazing roommate and best friend." I say "Keria must really care about you to lend money to you." He says "she's the best she knows how much I love you. And that I couldn't lose you." I say. "You will never lose me Slyv. You mean the world to me." He says kissing me again. After we pay we go stand in the back corner. We watch a few more guys get auctioned off. Casey couldn't keep his hands off me. I'm now leaning against him with his arms wrapped around my waist and my arms over his. "Let's get out of here. And go to your place. That dress is getting me to." He whispers in my ear. I blush at the sounds of his words in my ear. "You took the words right out of my mouth. I say as I turn around and kiss him. I quickly take his hand leading him out the side door as we disappear into the night.

AN: hey guys sorry I haven't updated in a while. Haven't felt well. I hope you enjoyed this story. I had fun rewriting it for Brettsey. Please feel free to vote and comment. I'm going to try and write another story today or tomorrow if I get the energy and should post  soon.
