We were currently tailing some dragon hunters, carefully flying far behind to stay hidden."Hmm." Hiccup hummed then landed Toothless on a small island.
"What are we landing for?" Snotlout asked. "They're pulling away. Hookfang, come on." He ushered his dragon but Hiccup stopped him.
"No, there's too many. And they're sailing in tight formation."
"I'll show you a tight formation."
"Hiccup's right." Fishlegs interrupted the idiot. "We'll never be able to approach that convoy without being spotted first."
"We need a distraction." Astrid said.
"Leave that to us." Hiccup grinned and pulled a bright yellow tail fin out of seemingly nowhere.
"Hiccup! This no time to play dress-up." Snotlout scolded him as if he knew what was going on.
"And how can you even think of wearing yellow after Snoggletog?" Tuff said in disgust. "That, my friend is a fashion faux pas."
"Ugghh. How gauche!" Ruff added.
'They're not wrong...'
"This one is lighter and stiffer." Hiccup explained. "It's made of a thin sheet of Gronckle Iron. It's not great for long-distance flying but-"
"The added stability will allow you to fly along the water surface without using any wing-flap. It's ingenious!" Fishlegs squealed and danced around excitedly.
"Maybe we should cut your tail off?" I suggested to Spike who slapped me with an ear fin.
"Exactly, Fishlegs. We're gonna glide in right under their sightline. Watch for my signal!" Hiccup said, finishing attaching the tail then took off on Toothless.
"Honestly, I would have stuck with the red. Yellow with Night Fury black? Really? Puh-lease!" Tuff scoffed and we followed from a distance.
Toothless fired at the boats and we all flew into battle. Very quickly, we took down all the hunters and I had Spike land on the boat before I rushed over to look for caged dragons.
"We'll be taking your cargo now." Hiccup told a roped hunter. "Alright, come on, Fishlegs. Let's free these dragons so we can help with the other ships."
"I hope we didn't startle them too much with all that commotion." Fishlegs said and looked around. "Poor things. Hiccup, where are all the dragons?"
I ran over next to them. "Hiccup, these ships don't have any dragons on them. Just marble blocks." I panted.
"Why would they fight so hard to protect a bunch of rocks?" Heather asked the question most of us were thinking. Most of us, being that the twins were tying up hunters so tight their faces were red.
Suddenly there was a low rumble in the distance, slowly growling louder and louder; eventually, to the point I could recognize the sound as wing beats.
"Hiccup?" Fishlegs asked nervously.
"What is that?" Snotlout asked and looked to the weird cloud.
"Whatever it is, it's moving fast." Astrid said.
"Bad news?" Fishlegs looked to Hiccup.
"It's not great. Duck!" He yelled as we were almost taken out by a Monstrous Nightmare.
"Dragon stampede! Take cover!" Snotlout yelled and ran around frantically.
"No. We need to get in the air!" Hiccup told us.
