Astrid, Hiccup and I were out patrolling, looking for any signs of Dagur's ships. Now, the good part was that we had just finished and could now go to bed rather than fly in the dark.

"Well, very good patrol. The Edge is secure." Hiccup nodded to us.

"Uh-oh, I know that look," I said as I noticed Astrid's facial expression.

"Where are all the Night Terrors? Aren't they supposed to be on watch, They're our last line of defence." She said suspiciously and then Stormfly made a sudden dive towards the training area. Hiccup and I glanced at each other than dove our Night Fury's down, nest to the Nadder.

"Tuffnut!" Hiccup yelled. Said twin, was throwing sticks and getting the Night Terrors to fetch them.

We landed our dragons and dismount, some of us looking more menacing than others, for example, Astrid.

"Yeah, that's good, right over there. Perfect. Okay. Yes!" Cheered as a Terror did her bidding.

"Uh, what are you two doing?" Hiccup asked them.

"Uh, what does it look like we're doing?" Ruff scoffed. "Dragon training!"

"You would think you, of all people, would recognize that. Prepare to be amazed, my friend!" Tuff said to us and then turned his attention to the Terror in his arms. "Okay, ready little guy?"

He put the Night Terror on the ground "Shake!" He said and the dragon shook its body.

Tuffnut laughed. "Right, see, you thought it'd be a handshake, and he'd put out his little paw, but I taught him-"

Hiccup cut him off. "Oh no no, we understand, I'm just not sure how useful a skill that is."

"Well that's not all he does, wanna see him get my slippers?" Tuff asked.

"These dragons are not our pets, Tuffnut." Astrid snapped at him. "They're an integral part of our security system."

"He can also solve math problems by stomping his foot, as long as the answer is always three." Tuff went on.

"She has a point Tuffnut, and you have a pet already." Hiccup told him and gestured to Chicken.

"Dagur could park a whole fleet right offshore, and we wouldn't even know they were there, because the Night Terrors aren't on their perches." Astrid continued seriously.

"Lighten up Astrid, Dagur doesn't even know where Dragons Edge is." Snotlout scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Not yet. But if you guys don't take this seriously, he will soon enough." She said and stood over him menacingly.

"I say bring it on! Let him bring that weak sauce in here. Hookfang and I will pummel his deranged butt." Snotlout yelled and it was Astrid's turn to roll her eyes.

"(Y/n), incoming Terror." Astrid warned me and pointed to a familiar Terror, flying very quickly in my direction.

I panicked and ducked, somehow avoiding the tiny dragon. "Ha Ha!" I laughed and jumped up. "Not today-" and the Terror hit me in the back of the head.  I frowned and pulled the dragon out of my hair then handed it to Fishlegs.

"Fishlegs, what is it?" Hiccup asked him.

"It's Berk and it's not good," Fishlegs said worryingly.

"Son, I'm glad you're here!" Stoick said to Hiccup the minute our dragons touched down on Berk. Or rather, what was left of it.

"Who did this? Dagur?" Hiccup asked in a flurry of panic. The houses were burnt, some demolished and most everything having the residue of being on fire.
