"Okay big guy, this is the moment of truth!" I said and tried to encourage my dragon, like our lives didn't depend on it.
Spike screamed and I clamped my hands over my ears.
But the door swung open.
We all ran in the hall and slammed the doors closed, then locking them again.
"We did it!" I yelled dramatically and collapsed on a padded bench in the small library.
Spike rolled his red eyes at me and went to take a long rest, where the dragons were. I laughed and Hiccup sat down beside me.
"Sooo...what do we do now?" I asked already board.
"Well, we wait for a few days." Hiccup sighed and Toothless decided that we were no longer interesting and left.
My face instantly fell and I could tell that this was going to be a long few days. "What are we going to do?!" I said exasperated and fell dramatically on his lap.
"..."
"Why are you blushing Haddock?" I cocked an eyebrow and smirked. Getting no response, I went and grabbed a book on medicine, then sat back down; using Hiccupas my cushion.
"That's it!" I heard him whine and looked up from my book.
"What?" I asked. "Did you want something more to happen?" I batted my eyes and looked innocent.
Hiccup looked like he was having an inner battle, so I watched amused and closed my book. "For the teen that changed Berk for the better; you do get flustered easi-" I laughed to myself as I had angered the wimp enough to take charge and kiss me.
I apparently underestimated Hiccup's confidence lever, because I soon had to break away panting. "Who knew you had that in you!" I laughed again and hugged him.
"Do I really come off across as so unconfident?" Hiccup sighed in my shoulder.
"Only to me, and only when you're trying to be affectionate." I smiled and we pulled away. "Plus, it's adorable so there's no downside."
I grabbed my sketchbook from the floor and opened it to a fresh page. Hiccup and I had been talking about new tail fins and a flight suit. And miraculously we had a lot of time to plan and design.

It had been two days, and they finally decided that we could leave the great hall and go home. Apparently, since Berk is in a weird place; it will be like summer again in a few days. Weird.
The moment those huge doors opened, all of us dragon riders were off! I yelled in joy and Spike just roared as we flew up high in the sky. "Oh, I missed this so much!" I laughed and then frowned when I noticed the state of the village. It was almost up to the roofs with snow.
I brought Spike down to our house and had him slowly melt the snow. Apparently others had the same idea, and soon all the dragons were helping melt the snow so we could get around. "Thanks, bud." I said has he melted the last of it. I had kick my door open, which resulted in me jumping around on one foot, cursing for awhile.
"My poor foot!" I whined then turned to my dragon. "Can you start the fire, please?" I asked him and Spike shot a fireball at the coal; which erupted in flames. "Thanks, boy."
I swear, it's the best feeling walking back in your home, when you've been away for awhile. I put my scythe away and removed all the bad food from my small kitchen.
Once everything was in place I ran to the cave. "Looks like everyone's in the air. Shall we join?" I said to Spike and jumped in my saddle. With a huge lurch of power, we were off and arrived where our group was. "What's going on?" I asked when they were in serious discussion.
"Trader Johann sent a Terror saying that he was shipwrecked on an island, not too far from here." Hiccup explained. "We're going bring him and his ship back before they get killed by the wilderness!" Then he went on some big plan speech.
The twins groaned in annoyance at having to work, while Snotlout pretended to listen to what was going on. I listened for a bit then got board as well. When Hiccup was finally done, thank Thor. We headed out west from Berk and flew in silence.
It was a good thirty minutes before we came up to some jagged rocks and a beached boat at the shore. "So, over there I'm guessing," I Said to Spike and we all landed on the grass.
"We're going to have to split up. (Y/n) and Spike, stay here as lookout or if Johann appears. Toothless and I will take the North side island. Astrid and Stormfly take West. Snotlout and Hookfang east. The the twins will go South." Hiccup told us our positions before continuing. "If anyone finds something, blast fire at the sky, which (Y/n) will be watching. Spike will scream, and everyone will fly back here, and then to the place where signalled. Everyone understand?"
We all nodded. "Head out!" Hiccup ordered and they all left.
"Looks like it's just us." I said to Spike and ran a hand through my hair. I stared at the beached ship inquisitively, before making up my mind. "I'm going to check out the inside of the boat." I said and started climbing up the wood to the deck. Spike roared worried and turned to him. "It okay, boy. I'll call if I need you." I smiled to him and opened the hatch to below deck.
I hastily jumped down and began to look around. There was chests filled with gold and maps that would've made Fishlegs go nuts. Being awe of all the wealth in this ship, I ran my hand over the pieces of gold, making them move. A shine of scarlet appeared and I picked it up to look at it. There looked like there was something moving inside the gem, like picture; but I couldn't make it out.
"Hi, Las!"
I jumped like three feet in the air, shrieking. I landed on my ass and groaned in immense pain. "Johann?!" I snapped surprised. "We came to take back to Berk." I said once I had gotten a grip. My hand suddenly stung a bit and I looked down. The gem or whatever and cut me when I fell, and now had blood on it. "Sorry about the gem." I said and tried to hand it back to him.
He scrunched up his face and turned his body away from it. "That worthless thing. Thought that was a real ruby, I did. Turns out it's not, it's useless and has no value!" He growled and glared at the rock.
I looked at it then him confused. "It's beautiful, why does it have to be worth something?" I asked and rolled the gem over in my hands.
Then he got weird smirk on his face. "Tell you what! As a Thanks for saving me, you can have it. It's brings no fortune to me, so let do you!" He cheered and closed my hand around the gem.
"Thank you," I said and stared at it. To me, nothing was worthless. Except maybe Snotlout...
"Now get me out of here!" The grown man cried and fell to his knees, begging at my feet.
I could feel my eyebrow twitch. "Um..okay then. Follow me..." I said and climbed up, and out to the deck. I took one look outside and frowned.
'Well shit'
