"So that's the spine blade?" Astrid asked while I blocked her attack.
"Yah, pretty light thanks to the Gronckle iron!" I grunted and made my own attack, which she dodged.
"Sharp too. Think you could make me an axe with Stormfly's spines?" She asked as I now dodged her attack.
"Probably, I just need her spines." I said and cartwheeled away from her blade.
"I think that's enough for today." Astrid says and stops. "Hiccup's dad said that Bucket's bucket is tightening."
I stopped sheathing my scythe and looked at her. I cocked and eyebrow, "and what exactly does that mean?" I asked, very much confused.
She laughed. "It means that there's a storm coming. And from what I've heard, we'll all be forced in the hall when it hits." Astrid sighs and sheathed her axe.
I just looked down in worry. "That big, huh?" I frowned.
She seemed to catch on pretty quickly. "What's wrong? We've done this before." She asked and pushed blond hair out of her eyes.
"We've never done this with dragons before." I said and looked up to the sky. Spike and Stormfly were racing and doing tricks.
Now it was her turn to worry. "I hadn't thought of that...the great hall is pretty big though." She said now confident again.
"Big enough for a Screaming Death?" I asked dryly.
"..." that made her silent. "Well he could always stay in his cave." She suggested.
I breathed out through my nose. "He could, but I couldn- I wouldn't let him stay there alone." I sighed again and we headed towards the door. "I'll go talk to Stoick about it." I said and whistled for Spike. Both of them flew down and we mounted.
Astrid and I flew down to the heart of the village where everyone was gathering. Stoick was giving out orders and Bucket was in a wheelbarrow looking faint. When we landed, I noticed villagers look at my dragon in fear. He was big and scary, that's true, but I knew that his heart was pure.
We walked up to Stoick who almost immediately told Astrid to start rounding up the animals. She nodded and flew off.
"Um, Cheif?" I said and narrowly avoided getting run over by a wagon filled with food.
"Yes las?" He said still giving orders.
"Um, I was just wondering. If we do go into a lockdown, will there-" I was cut off buy him.
"Be enough space for yer dragon. Hiccup came to me with that question right after I told him about the warning." Stoick laughed and placed a large hand on my shoulder. "The great hall is getting an expansion for all the dragons and villagers. Another question I was going to ask you." He said.
"What?" I said confused.
"Can that beast of yer's help dig out the stone?" He asked
"Of course! We'll head there right now!" I smiled and ran to Spike. "They've got a job for yah buddy!" I said and we ran/slithered to the great hall.
At the entrance we were greeted by Gobber who I handed spike off to. There were Gronckle's nocking the walls with their tails and other dragons clearing out the rubble.
"Okay bud." I said and turned to Spike. "I'm going to help somewhere else. Do what Gobber tells you to, alright?" I looked into his pure red eyes and he nodded. "Good boy!" I hugged his then ran off. "I'll be back later!" I called.
I went to Gothi and helped her put medicines and supplies in a cart, which I then wheeled to the entrance. Afterwards was herding animals to closer fields, so that we could get them in quickly when the storm hits. After doing that, I ran home and grabbed a pale of fish, then walked to the hall. When I entered I was surprised at how much larger it seemed and saw Spike evening out the walls.
"Hey, boy." I said as I reached him. Spike stopped and slithered towards me. "I brought you some food!" I chirped and began giving him fish, which he happily ate. When he was done, he went back to work and dropped the pale off at home.
At that point everyone was done preparing and we were just waiting on hall to finish up. So I basically walked around the village, at a loss of what to do.
"Hey," I turned around.
"Oh, hi Hiccup." I said and went over to pet Toothless. "Thanks for worrying about Spike and I, by the way." I smiled and watched his face turn a bit red.
"N-no problem....are you done helping too?" He asked regaining his composure.
"Yah, not much to do but wait till the storm hits." I said and we began walking.
"Pretty much, dad's sending the villagers home now. The sun's about to set and the storm will be here in a day or two." Hiccup said. "Everyone's probably going to want kill each other after being in the hall for so long." He finished with a sigh.
I smirked. "I bet you won't mind it though~" Hiccup looked at me confused. "Being in the hall with me for days, as I cling to you for warmth~" I cooed then winked at Hiccup who blushed fiercely. "Don't deny that you're looking forward to it~"
Unlike the reaction I was expecting, Hiccup just looked at me board and got on Toothless. "Hey! Wha-" and just like that Toothless scooped me up with his arms and took off at a rapid speed. "Hiccuuuuuuup!!!!!!" I yelled.
Toothless made a steep dive down the the freezing ocean below. He hovered in the air with my feet inches away from the icy water. "Are you done now?" Hiccup asked slyly.
"What is it with you and throwing me in water!" I yelled then felt Toothless's grip on my loosen and I slid closer to the water. "Okay! Okay! Okay! I'm done! Please don't freeze me alive!" I screamed and clawed desperately at the dragons feet.
"Okay bud." Toothless tightened his grip and they flew back up high in the air.
After finally feeling safe, I stupidly opened my mouth. "You wouldn't of dropped me anyways. You'd have no one to cuddle with~" and he dropped me.
I screamed like a maniac as I plummeted towards the freezing water and braced myself for swimming.
And then, as I just about hit the water. I landed in that jerk's lap.
"I'm going to kill you!" I yelled and tried to calm my breathing.
"Sure you will. You won't have anyone to cling to for warmth~" oh he didn't.
My face heated up in a million shades of red and looked anywhere but Hiccup's face. I heard him chuckle and pulled us up to the island then land gracefully. I heard a low and terrifying roar and immediately felt safe.
"Spike! Save meeeee~!" I whined flailed in the saddle. My dragon roared at me and looked like he was heading home. "Once again; thanks for nothing you useless reptile!" I yelled exasperated and flopped lifelessly.
I herd Hiccup laugh and opened one eye. "What?" I asked.
"I said the exact same thing to Toothless when we were trying to convince Astrid that dragons were good." He said and helped me off Toothless.
I laughed as well and stood up. "Great minds think alike."
