We ran into the trees with a little sunlight, breaking through the leaves. The battle had gone on a longer time then I had thought. Those thoughts were forgotten when I got whacked with a small tree branch.

"You okay?" Hiccup called and stopped.

"Just peachy!" I rolled my eyes and rubbed my nose before I continued on running.

The forest was fairly silent. Every now and then you would hear the chirping of a bird or a squirrel running up a tree. It was relatively dark, as I said. The sun was just rising and, only little bits of light were able to break through the trees and illuminate the forest floor.

We soon slowed to a walk and Hiccup pulled out a notebook scratching off where it might be.

"Hiccup." I say, trying to get his attention.

"This is ridiculous!" He ignored me.

"Hiccup!" I said more urgently.

"How could I have lost an entire dragon!" He said frustratedly and flailed his arms.

"HICCUP!" I yelled and shook his shoulders.

"What?!" He yelled back at me then got that weird look on his face again.

"Why do you keep making that face?!" I questioned him somewhat angrily.

"W-what face?!" He stuttered back and made a just plain WEIRD smile trying to look normal.

"Yeesh, as I was saying. Look!" I said and pointed to a large tree that was broken and it looked like a meteor had hit.

Hiccup and I followed the trail of destruction and gasped. There it was...a Nightfury. It was pitch black, the dragon wasn't that large, but it was built perfectly for speed. It's eye opening, revealing a breathtaking, bright green, catlike eye.

It's pupil was a slit and it clearly saw us. Hiccup and I looked at each other and he drew a small dagger from his brown, fur vest.

"S-stay here." He stuttered again and slowly approached the dragon.

"I-I ahh..." I couldn't speak, much less move.

Hiccup stood above the beautiful Nightfury and started talking to it.

"I'm gonna kill you dragon! I-I'm gonna cut out your heart and give it to my father!" He said and I watched in horror as he lowered the knife. The dragon flopped over hopelessly and closed its eye waiting for its death...but it never came.

Hiccup started cutting the rope around it's body. Soon all the ropes were cut and the dragon reared up and Hiccup fell to the ground with the dragon overtop of him. The dragon shrieked at him, baring it's teeth...and ran away.

I got up and ran to Hiccup who looked like he was about to pass out.

"Oh Thor! Are you okay?!" I panicked and I helped him up.

"Yah, yah. I'm fine~" and with that he passed out.

"Sure." I rolled my eyes and opened my bag and took out some peppermint leaves. I rubbed them together and put it above his upper lip so he inhaled the sent.

It took a few seconds, but he sat up sneezing. "Why would you do that?" He whined and I helped him up.

"Because I can't carry you home. Come on." I said and slung one of his arms around my shoulders and began walking.

"Hiccup?"

"Yah..."

"You're making that face again."
