Tomorrow was the last day of dragon training, so Gobber gave us the day off the narrow out the last two. Whoever won tomorrow got to kill the Monstrous Nightmare.

Hiccup and I were eating breakfast at the great hall when Astrid approached us. Well, by approached meaning she slammed he axe in the table right in front of Hiccup's face...then yes.

"Gobber sent me, to tell you-" she hissed. "That we are the finals." Astrid growled, ripping her axe from the table and stalked away.

Hiccup and I gulped in sync and sprinted to the cove. Hiccup was scratching Toothless this time while I sketched them. Suddenly, he scratched a spot and Toothless fell to the ground.

"That may come in handy!" I said and took a mental note of that spot.

"Hey, Hiccup?" I asked

"Yah?"

"Well, what happens if you get chose to-...do the deed?" I said somewhat scared.

"I don't know..." he said honestly. "And to add to that, my dad should be back tomorrow or the next day."

We ended up going flying again but Hiccup had a thing that attached him to the saddle that wouldn't come off. So, Toothless being a stubborn ass, made us sneak into the village at night time so we could cut Hiccup free. Astrid saw him, told him he was acting weirder then normal, and Toothless pulled him in a window. Fun night.

Before we knew it, it was the next day and walked with Hiccup to the arena, since Astrid was mad at me. All the same I went to wish her luck and was more then happy when she accepted my hug. I then quickly ran over and hugged Hiccup. Maybe a little longer then necessary, but whatever.

The match began and there was a lot of running and fighting. Then Astrid went to attack the Nadder with a deadly blow and Hiccup ran in, and scratched the dragon which made it fall down.

Gothic signalled the end of the match, so Gobber put the dragon away and went to stand behind Hiccup and Astrid. He raised his hand over Astrid's head but Gothi shook her head no. Gobber raised a hand over Hiccup's head and she nodded. I could feel my stomach in my throat.

Hiccup ran out of the arena and I ran after him to the cove.

"We're going on a vacation bud. Forever." He said and grabbed some stuff.

"So that's what's going on?"

Hiccup and I jumped and turned to see Astrid sharpening her axe.

"You two have been having secret little rendezvous out here?!"

When she said that, Toothless jumped out and she pushed all all to the ground. Hiccup ran to Toothless.

"Stop! You just scared him!" Hiccup said desperately while Toothless growled at her.

"I scared him!" Astrid yelled and got up.

"Please, just let us show you." Hiccup said calmly and held out a hand.

Astrid knocked him on the ground and ran towards the village.

"(Y/n), stay here!" Hiccup yelled and mounted Toothless.

"What am I supposed!...to do..." I sighed and sat in the grass and eventually fell asleep.

I woke up to Toothless landing and opened my eyes to see Astrid hurt Hiccup then hug him and whispered something I couldn't here. She then left.

"H-Hiccup?" I mumbled and rubbed my eyes.

"Sorry we took so long." Hiccup said as I stood up.

"What happened?" I asked and yawned.

"We found the nest..."

"What?! What happened?!!" I asked in amazement.

"I'll tell you on the way." He said and we then exited the cove.

"So they get eaten if they don't supply enough food?" I said as we reached my house.

"Yah, pretty much." Hiccup said and I hugged him.

"What are you going to do? Tomorrow." I asked.

"I don't know. But if something happens to me-"

"Hiccup!" I say holding his shoulders.

"No, promise me, that you will take care of Toothless!" He said and I nodded and hugged him again.

I finally pulled away and yelled good night as I ran in my hut.

Stoick was giving a big speech about how proud he was of Hiccup, and how he couldn't believe it was same boy. I rolled my eyes and waited at the entrance with Hiccup and Astrid. We wished him good luck and the door closed behind him.

Hiccup went to the weapons board and grabbed a tiny knife. The cage opened and the Monstrous Nightmare came out in all its glory.

"It's okay." Hiccup said and dropped the knife. "I'm not one of them." Hiccup threw his helmet away.

"Stop the fight." Stoick growled.

Hiccup reached out his hand to touch the dragon and looked away.

"I SAID, 'STOP THE FIGHT!'" Stoick yelled and slammed the bars with his hammer.

The Monstrous Nightmare roared and Hiccup narrowly missed its claw.

"Hiccup!" Astrid and I yelled.

She grabbed an axe and cranked the entrance open. We slid under with our own weapons and went in.

The dragon climbed on the roof of the cage and set its body on fire. Astrid and I were able to land a few blows before we herd something.

A part of the cage exploded and Toothless appeared fighting the dragon. He stood in front of Hiccup and growled.

"Nightfury!" People yelled and Vikings came in with chains.

They somehow got the Nightmare back in its cage and they captured Toothless.

"No! Dad! He was just trying to protect me!" Hiccup yelled but to no avail.

"Stop!" I yelled and punched someone who was holding Toothless in the face and they fell unconscious.

People started restraining Hiccup and I, and we were thrown in the great hall.

"You don't understand if they don't bring food, they'll be eaten themselves! There's something out there!" Hiccup yelled

"You've been to the nest?!" Stoick roared.

"No! Only a dragon can find it! Please!" Hiccup cried.

"I am not your father! You are not my son!" He roared and pushed Hiccup backwards. I slid to him to catch him before his head hit the stone floor and Stoick closed the door.

"Are you okay!" I said as I grabbed him.

Hiccup only looked forward in fear.
