That Look (Hiccup x Reader)

I woke up the next morning and ate before starting to pack. Once I did, I grabbed my sketchbook, journal, fish and such. I was having the small expansion put on today and wanted to leave before they got here.

"Morning bud!" I said and pushed Spike a barrel of fish. He roared in response and started eating.

I ran inside and grabbed my bag, then ran back to Spike who was then done eating.

"Let's go bud!" I said and grabbed on tight as Spike shot in the air. I screamed in joy then steered him towards the forest.

Spike slowed down as we flew over the trees and I pointed out the clearing. He slowly went down and we landed next to the pond.

I slid off and looked around 'it's just as we left it.'

The tiny cave still had the chest in it and that shield was permanently stuck in the rock.

Suddenly Toothless landed in front of me and Hiccup slid off.

"Hi guys!" I greeted and pet the black dragon's head.

"Shall we start?" Hiccup said and sat down against a big log.

"Of course!" I said and sat down next to him.

"I already have a ruff sketch of Toothless I'm my journal. So, I'll copy it in the book, minus the tail fin." He said.

"Is there anything we don't know about Nightfury's?" I asked.

"Can you fly Toothless and find out pitch rate, dive rate, wingspan, firepower, endurance and weight?" Hiccup asked, tapping his chin with the bottom of his pencil.

"Got it! Come on Toothless!" I said and jumped on his saddle. Just then did Spike roar.

"You're gonna stay here with me big guy." Hiccup said to my boy. "I've got to draw you, so I need to see you."

"See you soon!" I said and opened the tail fin. Toothless and shot up at a blinding rate and I could feel the familiar tears prick my eyes from the wind.

I flew him out over the ocean. "You ready bud!" I repositioned the tail fin and we dove down at a perfect one-eighty.

We pulled up before hitting the water and you could hear it flying behind us from the wind.

"Time to go back up!" I moved the tail fin again. We once again did a one-eighty back up to the sky.

"Okay Toothless, two laps around Berk!" I said and we were off. I'm sure as we passed the village that we got some weird looks. I was yelling with my hands in the air as we sped around.

After the endurance we landed back in the cove and marked him as a seven.

"Wingspan, now stretch 'em out!" He did and I market the dirt with my foot at where they ended. I then put one foot carefully in fronted the other and counted until I got to the end.

"Ruffly, 45 feet bud!" I said and pulled out my journal to put all the information down. "Now the same thing, but for length."

I did the same thing as before and wrote down '26 feet'.

"Last thing is firepower. Since you have plasma it will be high." I said to Toothless and I once again jumped on his saddle.

We blasted off again and then landed at i giant boulder we found at the other end of Berk. I grabbed my pencil and drew some targets. Toothless shot them perfectly and I gave him a good 8.8.

"For weight...I don't really want to test that. Nor do I know how."

"Time to go back, bud!" I called the Nightfury and we flew back at a normal speed since he had been working hard.
