Astrid returned a few days later and I ran up to her at top speed.

"What happened?!" I asked in complete excitement.

Astrid huffed and got off of Stormfly. "Where does Gobber keep is ice cream?" She asked hopelessly and my face dropped.

"Under the anvil in the blacksmith, he has a secret basement full of it," I said and felt my own heart brake.

We sat with our legs dangling off the walkway on my hut, two spoons and a wooden tub of ice cream between us.

"Stoick told me that the Monstrous Nightmares on dragon island were getting all riled up, so I said Erick and I would go sort it out. So we flew there, everything was fine until we found the Nightmares fighting some Nadders. We separated them without any injuries and then followed the Monstrous Nightmares back to there place on the island and found it trashed with spines." Astrid explained.

"That's weird," I said. "Nadders aren't aggressive to other dragons."

"That's what I said! Anyways, we took a look around on foot and realized very quickly that this wasn't the work of Nadders, it was the Whispering Deaths." She went on.

"How did you realize that?" I asked confused.

"Probably from the five Whispering Deaths that shot out from the ground and started attacking us." Astrid continued.

"Yup, that would do it," I muttered.

"Stormfly and I got us out of there with some scratches and I spotted a cave so we landed and I put some of your ointment on Stormfly and Dusk. I got mad at Erick for freezing up and he freaked out at me saying he was scared. So I said, "everyone is scared when they're in battle, but that doesn't mean you do nothing.". So he got mad, and I got mad and then there was a gigantic lightning storm so we sat in the cave all night not looking at each other." She finished.

"I'm sorry, Astrid." I sighed and put down my spoon. "This is all my fault, I should have let you move at your own pace. I really messed this up for you." I muttered and pulled my knees to my chest.

"Nah," Astrid said, much to my surprise.

"But I-"

"You saved me a lot of time. I'd be mad at myself if I spent years trying to do something pointless." She said with a smile.

I bit my lip before losing it and hugging her. "I'm sorry," I mumbled again.

"Don't worry about it," Astrid said and pat my head. "You're overthinking things...but we do have one problem." She added

I let go and looked at her. "What do you mean?" I asked. Astrid pointed below us and I saw Tuffnut stumbling around with the tub on his head, covered in ice cream.

He threw the bucket off and licked his arm. "Mmm, chocolate!" He hummed and then aggressively started trying to lick all the ice cream off himself, while Astrid and I burst into laughter.

When recomposing myself, I noticed a Terror flying straight towards us with a letter tied to its leg.

"Wow, he's really not slowing down." Astrid noticed as the dragon came closer.

"So?" I questioned.

"Well, I'm just wondering how it will be able to-"

"Ahhhhh, oh my Thor!" I yelled as the Terror hit me in the face, and knocked me over.

"Stop..." Astrid finished.

"Uhhh." I groaned and stayed where I was, while Astrid tool the letter from the Terror that was still on my face.
