October 24th - Prompt: Tempting

"It's tempting..."
Edmund sighed sadly, placing the bowl of soup on the bedside table and sitting next to Lucy, who was bundled under the covers. "Still can't keep anything down?" He breathed.
Lucy slowly shook her head. "Peter got me to eat a bowl of porridge this morning," She said quietly. "I managed only half the bowl before throwing it back up again."
Edmund smiled sadly, turning to grab the damp cloth and pressing it to Lucy's forehead. "You'll get better soon Lu," He reassured her. "And then you can eat."
Lucy smiled weakly. "I miss eating." She admitted. "I'm hungry."
Edmund placed the cloth back into the bowl, before grabbing whatever book Lucy had been at least trying to read. "You want me to read you a few chapters?" He asked.
Lucy looked beyond happy about this, and nodded gently. "That'd be nice." She breathed. "I can't concentrate on reading for the life of me."
Edmund smiled, settling against the headboard and opening the book where the bookmark was.
"Thank you Edmund," Lucy whispered, curling against his side.
Edmund placed a kiss to her forehead. "You're welcome."
