December 20th: Prompt - Knight

-----------

"When were you gonna tell me you're a Knight?"

Peter looked up from where he'd been stroking the unicorns neck, smiling at the majestic creature. "Huh?"

Edmund shrugged a little. "Lucy mentioned it." He said slowly. "Said you killed - killed Maugrum."

Peter bit his lip, nodding slowly. "Yeah," He mumbled. "He went after the girls, so - yeah..."

Edmund nodded a little. "I'm glad he's dead." He mumbled.

Peter stared at him, wanting to ask, but deciding against it and just carrying on. "Aslan Knighted me afterwards." He told his brother. "I am sad you missed it."

Edmund nodded in agreement. "I would've liked to be there." He sighed, sounding genuine. "But I - I wasn't, and I'm sorry."

Peter frowned. "There's no need to be sorry Ed, it wasn't your fault." He said, sounding confused.

Edmund just shook his head, wondering over to the chocolate coloured horse.

"Are you sure you're okay to ride?" Peter asked, sounding just a little worried.

Edmund turned to him. "Yeah." He breathed. "I think I remember how, I've done it, what, twice before?"

"You know that's not what I mean." Peter said.

Edmund stared at him, swallowing hard. "I'm fine," He told him.

Peter sighed. "Only if you're sure." He said.

"Of course I'm sure." Edmund said, gripping his sword handle. "Now come on, let's have some fun, Sir Peter."

Peter couldn't help but chuckle at Edmund's cheeky smile, and slowly shook his head in amusement.

It was nice to have his brother back, and back for good.
