👼 MY ANGEL 👼

Elsa had gone back to work without having anything for lunch.

She had to immediately clean herself up and come back to work because her lunch break was over.

All she could think about was what Jeremy said to her. She felt humiliated and degraded. She did her cleaning as the voice in her head, maybe her conscience, talked to her.

“You must kill this love before it kills you, Elsa,” the voice said.

‘It’s easier said than done. I honestly believed that after he said he loved someone else, I would let him go.’

“Only for that not to happen?”

‘I guess it didn't,’ Elsa sighed.

Maybe you should stay away from him. Maybe out of sight, out of mind.”

‘I don’t know if that will work for me.’

Give him up, Elsa. Just give up. He doesn't love you or want a child with you. He told you that to your face!”

‘I know. But also, I did see some affection from him before.’

“Elsa, evidence of affection from him is no proof that he will change and treat you well.”

‘I know, but I still have faith. And I will hold on to that.’

Elsa talked to the voice in her head like it was another person, and it gave her good arguments.

What happened in that hotel room was something that hurt her so much, both emotionally and physically.

She had looked at the marks on her neck and understood something. Jeremy didn't give them to her because of love; he gave them to her because of Allan.

He was just being petty.

When it was time to go home, Elsa went to look for Allan to get the tapes. He was standing at the reception talking to someone.

Before Elsa could approach him, someone suddenly stood in her way, blocking her path. It was a man dressed in black from head to toe, well-built with a stone face.

“Mrs. Callahan, I am here to take you to the Callahan Manor,” he said to her in a deep, professional voice.

Elsa took a step back from him subconsciously. “What? Why?”

She did not want to go there, not after how Jeremy's mother treated her and humiliated her in front of everyone. Call her a coward, but she did not want to go back there.

“You have been summoned to appear at the Callahan Manor, right now,” he said to her as he held his hands in front of him.

Elsa looked at him from head to toe. "
“Who are you?”

“I work for Old Master Callahan,” was his answer, not offering his name or an actual description of his profession.

“And he sent you to take me to his Manor?” she asked.

Why would the old Master call for her? Is it because of what's trending on the internet? Would he scold her too?

“The entire family wants you there. You have to come with me.”

The entire family. No, no. This cannot be good.

“I’m not going back there,” she said sternly.

“You have no choice, Mrs. Callahan. I am not leaving here without you.”

“What are you going to do? Throw me over your shoulder and carry me out while I am kicking and screaming?” Elsa's sarcastic laugh died down when the man gave her a serious look, as if he would actually do that.

Elsa sighed and shook her head. “Why do they even want me to go there?”

“It’s not my job to know,” he said with an annoyed voice.

"Well, it's also not my job to follow you to the Callahan Manor. I am not obligated to,” she threw the tone back at him.
