It was time for the bidding, and the guests started gathering in the room.
When Jeremy exited the storage room, he found Victoria and her mother standing in the corridor, waiting for him.
Victoria was just about to approach him when Jeremy suddenly walked past them and headed into the bidding room, which surprised Victoria.
She wanted to complain about how Jeremy had left her and how she had heard murmurs about him almost fighting with Lui for Elsa.
However, with the look on his face, she kept her mouth shut.
She had to leave her mother behind and chase after Jeremy in order to enter the room with their arms locked together.
So she had to catch up to him. And when she did and secured herself next to him, she smiled warmly at everyone in the audience.
Everybody looked at her and couldn't take their eyes off her at that moment.
She knew her dress would steal the show. It's not every day people get to see such an expensive dress. And she was a beautiful woman, so with the heavy makeup, she looked very attractive, making people stare.
She sat down next to Jeremy, with her mother on her other side.
She heard murmurs talking about her and how she was the daughter of the prestigious McConnells, and also had the Young Master of the Callahans loving her even after an arranged marriage with someone else.
But those murmurs immediately shifted the moment Elsa walked into the room.
Elsa was looking around, trying to spot Lui. Lui noticed her first and raised his hand so Elsa could see him.
Elsa went to him immediately and sat next to him. It was only after that did she realize they were seated opposite Jeremy, Victoria, and Rosanna.
Rosanna saw Elsa and sneered before looking away the next second.
Jeremy saw her too. And the moment he noticed she was trying to hide the hickey he gave her with her hair, he clenched his jaw.
Victoria and Elsa, well, people in the room were talking about them loud enough for them to hear.
"One thing I don't understand is, who did Young Master Jeremy come with?"
"Victoria obviously, because he is seated with her."
"But wasn't he about to hit the man next to Elsa a few minutes ago?"
"Her name is Elsa? I thought she was called Gwen," another one chimed in.
