2 weeks later

"This place seems pretty fit to live in." I say with a smile.

"Yeah, we haven't had to deal with many walkers." Clem says to me.

There was a knock on the door. It startled both of us.

I cautiously walked to the door opening it. A man stood in the door way. He was tall, taller then me. His black hair was messy and all over the place. He has some scruff on his chin and his jet black eyes stared into mine.

"Can I help you?" I ask narrowing my eyebrows.

"Yeah, me and my group have been watching you and your daughter for a while now." His scratchy voice rings.

I stare at him prepared to kick some ass any minute.

"That didn't come out right. Look, let me get to the point. I have a large camp with lots of survivors just like you. It has large walls, we haven't had to deal with walkers in weeks!" He says.

I remain silent still glaring at him.

"I know you're skeptical, you have every right to be. You don't know me for shit. But on that note, ,I'm Trenton." He says holding his hand out.

"I'm Luke." I say suspiciously, as I shake his hand.

"We're only a couple miles up the road." Trenton says.

"I've heard of a place like this, I've been to one..." I say.

"What made you leave?" He asks.

"We killed the leader." I say, letting him know I mean business.

"Oh." He says shocked.

"You gonna be some crazy asshole that hits kids if they don't do work are you?" I ask sharply.

"No! Of corse not. We are completely safe, you and your daughter will be totally safe." He says.

He seems pretty serious about this.

"I'll check it out, if I don't like the situation and I'm leaving." I say sternly.

"Okay," he says.

"And you better not follow us." I say grabbing his shirt and pulling him close to my face.

"Okay, okay, I get it!" He says.

"Let's go." I say taking my machete out as I walk through the door.

"Luke?" Clem asks.

I look at her.

"Where are you going? Who is that?" She asks.

"I'm gonna check out a camp, see if it's safe enough for us." I say.

"I'm coming too." She says.

"No, stay here and watch AJ." I say.

"He's asleep in his crib, I'm coming." She says sternly.

"Fine." I say rolling my eyes.

We head out following behind Trenton.

Clem carried her gun which Trenton seemed to had taken notice of.

"Anyone teach you how to shoot that, honey?" He asks her.

Honey? This guy doesn't even know her. He looks to be about 40, which makes me more weary of him. I can't trust people around her, not after last time.

"Yeah," she says.

"Good, but you won't need to use one of these ever again!" He says with a smile.

"I want her to continue shooting." I chime in.

"Why? She's just a kid?" Trenton asks.

"I don't want her to loose the skill, if she ever needs to use one and she forgets how-"

"She won't need to." he interrupts.

"Well I'm in charge of her and I only want what's best for her, if you won't allow her to shoot then were leaving." I say, as I stopped walking.

"We don't allow guns inside," he says .

"We would do it outside." he says.

"I'll see if that'll work." He says.

I nod my head and begin walking again.

"How old are you, sweetie?" He asks Clem.

Sweetie? This is getting odd. I may just be paranoid, but I don't trust this guy.

"Thirteen.." she says.

"I haven't even asked for your name, you are?"

"Clementine." she says.

"Clementine, that's a beautiful name." he says.

"Um... thanks..." she says suspiciously, picking up onto my thought.

"Here we are!" Trenton exclaims.

What I see in front of me is a place larger then Wellington, the walls are higher and lined with barbed wire. This may be the place to stay.
