It began to get dark when there was a knock on the door.

I opened the door, it was Trenton.

"Hey, just to let you know we have dinner for ya'." he says.

"What? You just give us food?" I ask.

"Yeah, your labor pays for it though." he says.

"Here," he says handing us a basket filled with all kinds of food.

"Holy shit. This is a lot!" I say in disbelief.

"Once you run out of that you can pick up another basket from the house at the end of the street. Its the 'diner' if that's what you'd call it." He says.

"Wait, you said you keep getting more people everyday? Will portions get smaller?" I ask.

"No, that shouldn't be a problem." he says.

"Well, thank you." I say.

"See you tomorrow." he says as he lets himself out.

"Bye." I smile.

I set the basket onto the table and look at it.

"Hey Clem, come out here!" I shout.

She comes out and raises her eyebrow at me.

"Look at this." I say opening the basket.

There's all kinds of food. Apples, peaches, rolls, water bottles, and cooked meat.

"Look at all of this!" Clementine exclaims.

"Where'd they get meat from?" I ask myself.

"Probably hunting." she says as she gazes at the basket.

"Let's eat!" I say.

Clementine nods happily.

We fill our plates and begin eating.

"I haven't tasted anything this good in forever." Clementine says.

"Me either." I say.

We finish the food quickly, nearly eating everything in whole basket that was suppose to last us 3 days.

"I like this place." she says.

"Me too Clem." I say.

The next morning I wake up oddly really hungry.

I sneak into the kitchen and take what's left of the rolls and eat them all.

"What are you doing?" Luke asks.

His voice startled me and I nearly choked on the rolls.

"Uhh..." I say with a mouthful of bread.

"Are you eating all of the food?" He asks.

I can't tell if he's angry or just messing around.

I remain silent.

He walks over to me with his arms crossed. I move my head up slowly towards him swallowing a big gulp of it.

"You know what happens when you eat all the food?" He says.

I look up at him with guilty eyes.

He lunges toward me and begins to tickle my stomach.

"Luke! Stop!" I shout trying to stop myself from laughing.

"Don't eat all the rolls next time!" Luke laughs as he continues to tickle me.

"Lu- STOP!!" I laugh barley being able to breathe.

He lifts his hands off of me for a moment allowing me to regain my breath. He looked like an animal that was ready to pounce at any moment.

I take a few deep breaths before he begins to tickle me again.

"MERCY MERCY!!" I shout as I try to roll away from him on the floor.

"Okay, okay..." he says as he gets off of me.

My stomach hurt from laughing so hard.

"Never do that again." I say.

"Hey, I gotta go start my job, you're gonna be here alone." he says.

"I want a job." I say.

"I'm sure you can get one. Just kids under 13 aren't required a job." he says.

"I wanna go with you." I say.

"I'm working as a hunter, just like Wellington." he says.

"Oh, do they have a job where you make food? I'd like to learn how." I say.

"Probably, I can ask Trenton for you." He says.

"Thanks Luke." I say.

-

Later that night Luke returns.

"So, what'd he say?" I ask.

"He says you can, you start at the diner bright and early tomorrow." he says.

I smile and watch Luke place another basket on the table filled with more food.

I grab for a roll and pause once my hand lands on it.

Luke smirks and chuckles.

"I won't do that again." I say dropping the roll back in the basket.
